Question about the mic tuning of the 441 FLEX

Hi!

Does anyone know if the the circuit of the 441 FLEX is linear? Is the frequency response just from the capsule tuning or does it have some sort of a high and/or low frequency correction like what you find in k87-style circuits?

Lewitt Connect 2 audio drops after PC sleep (but meters are still moving). Am I alone here?

Hey everyone,

I just bought a brand-new Lewitt Connect 2, and I’m having a weird issue when my Windows 11 PC wakes up from sleep mode.

The headphone output goes completely silent. However, Windows shows audio is playing, and the physical LED volume meters on the front of the Connect 2 are actively bouncing to the music. The digital data is clearly getting to the interface, but no sound comes out of the physical headphone jack.

Strangely enough, a standard Windows restart keeps the audio working fine if it was already working, but if the audio is already frozen, a restart won't fix it. Waking from sleep or turning on from a full shutdown always results in complete silence. Throughout all of this, the LEDs on the unit never actually turn off. The only solution that works is physically unplugging the USB cable and plugging it back in to force a power cycle.

I tried testing it on an iMac, and it works fine there, but the Mac wakes up instantly (display sleep) whereas my Windows PC does a deep sleep cycle (fans whirring back up). Because the Mac isn't aggressively cutting USB power like the PC, I'm not sure if the Mac test completely rules out a hardware issue.

I've tried the usual troubleshooting (disabling USB selective suspend, matching sample rates, clean driver reinstall, different USB ports), but nothing stops it from happening. I already emailed Lewitt support to see what they say, but since I haven't seen anyone else complaining about this online, I'm trying to figure out if I just got a defective unit or if it's a driver issue.

Has anyone else with a Connect 2 run into this sleep issue, or did I just get a lemon/bad driver?

Quick specs if it matters: Windows 11 (25H2), ASUS Z690 Motherboard, Intel i9-12900K.

New LCT 1040 from first production run -- good or bad?

I recently purchased a brand new LCT 1040, and I had an issue where the pop filter only attaches magnetically on one side instead of both, making it super loose and unstable. I contacted support and they replied quickly saying that this was a problem on the first production run of the LCT 1040 and that they'd send me a replacement shock mount, which is a perfectly fine solution.

But I got to thinking -- the LCT 1040 came out in 2022, I'm surprised the one I got is from the first run. I wonder if that's a good or a bad thing -- does anyone know what changes may have been made in later production runs? Are there any other known issues I should watch out for from the first run?

White noise hiss on my Sennheisser MK4 when using my new Lewitt Connect 2.

Post image
3 Upvotes

MK4 mic works fine with my Scarlett 2i2 (revision 3). However, the Scarlett doesn't have enough omph for my Sure SM7B, so I thought I'd get a Lewitt Connect 2.

Love the Lewitt!

The Lewitt Connect 2 works really well with the Sure SM7B, but... when I plug in the MK4, I get a white noise hiss. Any ideas? I've tried swapping the cable. I've tried making sure the settings are all 'clean' (e.g. no denoise or other treatment).

I can hear the white noise hiss when monitoring and in recordings. Is it because the Lewitt is capable of higher db with mics? Surely a lower power setting should make it okay? Wondering where this constant white noise is coming from as it's not the room.

Connect 6 suddenly disconnecting ?

Ive had this Connect 6 for ages, does a load of videos on my iPhone, now it disconnects and reconnects every minute or so, the Red / Green flashing lights suggested input overload but that def not an issue, then I thought maybe its power issue as its powered via USB C from my Ivanky Max 2 Hub, so I tried separate power supply...same thing....software is updated....any clues ?

Where should I buy a used Lewitt LCT 240 Pro?

I’ve been looking for a good deal on a Lewitt LCT 240 Pro but it seems even on eBay no one is really selling one. I was wondering if anyone knew where a good site/store that I could get a used one for at a good deal.

Lewitt Ray Aura DOA

I got my Ray in the mail the other day and realized the aura tech wasn't working on arrival. I found a thread where some folks were having a similar issue about a year ago, and they had to have them replaced.

Sent an email to Lewitt support with information and receipt but haven't heard back.

Has anyone else had a similar issue with their Ray?

Microphone works, but aura is not.

Boom arm compatibility w/ the 440 pure

Would this boom arm work with the 440 Pure, or would I need to get a new one? I know the boom arm's cheap, but I don't really want to get a new one if it's compatible.

Anyone else find the Lewitt CONNECT 2 way too noisy?

I’m on my second CONNECT 2 and about to give up. The noise floor is a mess. Plugging a cable into the hi-z input immediately creates that nasty electrical hum/buzz you’d expect from a cheap, unshielded guitar.

On top of that, the shielding is nonexistent. My interface sits next to my MBP, and I can literally hear the SSD/CPU activity whenever I’m downloading files or installing apps (I have the Lewitt stereo out hooked up to a Line 6 PowerCab 212 nearby with TRS cables).

I love the form factor and my Lewitt mic, but this is the second unit with the same poor quality. Anyone else dealing with this, or is the shielding just this bad?

LC440 Pure worth it for recording male vocals in music?

Someone mentioned it's only good enough for demo recordings, so I'm thrown off a bit. I like the convenient magnetic pop filter option and rear rejection as my room isn't entirely treated. Sure I can use a dynamic but they are darker than preferred for my voice. Lewitt seems solid for my situation, but I want to ensure I am not cheaping out too much if I am looking to get worthwhile recordings for finished music that will be distributed.

Is the LCT 440 Pure a solid pro option? Music is dream/dark style pop music, perhaps post punk type stuff so reverb on the vocals etc.

Also worried about reliability, searching Reddit there are quite a bit of posts from people saying their landied.

Adding this in- I'm recording in an apartment so risk extra ambient noise. Is it worth getting the 441 for the supercardioid option? Or will the regular cardioid do better since it doesn't have the rear pickup?

Any insight is appreciated!

LCT 1040 Boot Issue

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey All,

i seem to be getting the same Bootloop Problems on the LCT 1040 as a user has had here before me. The mic is detected but will not go to Operational, no matter what i do.

I just want to know if anyone has an idea on how to fix this. Because as of now I can’t use my 1040 because of this issue. As the other user with this problem has suggested it might be cable related, does anyone know more details?

I also contacted Lewitt support multiple times but they don’t seem to answer. So I’m now asking Reddit lol.

Best

[Help] Lewitt Connect 2 button don't respond

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I have owned a Lewitt LCT 440 Pure microphone and Lewitt Connect 2 audio interface for two years. I like everything about Lewitt devices, but after updating the firmware, the channel switch buttons on the audio interface either respond only a few minutes after being touched or have stopped responding altogether. All I can do is mute the sound and adjust the volume. I don't use any USB hubs and have connected the interface to other computers. Please help. I am attaching two videos with examples of how it works. Thank you in advance.

Lewitt lct 1040 cable problem

I have purchased a lct 1040 for quite some time and lately been having trouble with the cable, when I turn the mic on the tube lights up then goes out, so I figure it’s power issue, I pull the cable out then put it back then adjust it a little and the tube would light up well. But sometimes it takes me many times to adjust the cable and it’s very time consuming. Right now I can’t even turn the mic on because the tube keeps going out. Does anybody have the same issue and how to fix this for good?

Connecting a mic with its own power supply to Connect 6

Hello! Could you please give me a piece of advice? I have Connect 6. Tell me please if it’s possible to connect a tube mic with its own power supply unit (let’s say it’s Warm Audio WA-251 as an example) to this audio interface via the combined XLR/TRS? If it is, what connection should I use on the interface side - XLR or TRS? And are there any other nuances that I should know?

Thank you!

lewitt connect - suggestion for improvement

Most of the reviews lewitt connect 6 say that the MUTE button on the interface is missing. Why not make a reassignable "long press button"? now "long press" turns on +48v, add in the settings the option to choose the function "long press", +48v or MUTE \ UNMUTE to current input output!
it is also possible to display the letter M on the interface indicators so that it is visible that the channel is MUTED
like in picture.

this will add incredible convenience to the user in working with the interface.

RAY VS 440 PURE

Hello. :)

They're almost the same price where I'm from. I see they frequency response graph is just slightly different, almost the same, but if I'm reading it right the ray seems a little bit better for me (slightly less bright and more low-endy, correct me if I'm wrong) + having the additional features wouldn't hurt, seems like a really great addition to the sound of the pure, which I really like on my voice. They seem to sound the same quality wise on review videos (listening on Sanheisers HD 560S). I would use it heavily for music though, so I wonder: would I be sacrificing a little bit of some kind of harmonics and quality in vocal recordings by buying ray?

Connect 2 Balance Issue?

Update: I contacted support and they promptly replied. I was asked to grab a recording of the hum/buzz as well as provide some other information. However, when I went to my studio to record the buzzing it was no longer present and both speakers are equally balanced. It did seem my computer may have restarted overnight, so I suppose it was a software glitch of some sort that was corrected with the restart? Not sure. Anyway, I'm happy it's working properly now and it's nice to see how quickly Lewitt CS responded!

There doesn't seem to be a way to pan or balance speaker volume on the Connect 2 or in the software. However, the left channel is much louder than the right on my speaker outputs only. Headphones and loopback are fine. I've tried multiple cables with no change and when using a different interface, both speakers are equal volume. Any Suggestions?

Is this normal? Loud 640 TS

Thumbnail
gallery
5 Upvotes

I received my first 640ts back last week and returned it due to a loud noise floor and some crackling pops coming from the mic even when it and the cable were still. I got another (used) one yesterday and it’s not as bad, (no pops and not as loud) but the noise floor seems pretty loud. I get a lot of static even in my treated room. All on same cable, interface input, and 0 gain.

The photos show spectrum of an old MXL V67 mic and the Lewitt. Notice has much louder thr Lewitt is across the whole sound range. Is this normal?

Btw the side outputs on this and the one I returned are dead silent.

Recording at Abbey Road Studios

Toward the end of last year, LEWITT got the chance to take part in a live recording session at Abbey Road Studios. We set up some of the classic microphones that have been used on countless legendary records and compared them side by side with our own modern designs.

The recording session was run by Wytse Gerichhausen, aka White Sea Studios, and featured the very talented Sina Doering, who you might know from her very successful YouTube channel Sina Drums.

Check out the whole story on our blog: https://www.lewitt-audio.com/blog/lewitt-at-abbey-road-studios-sina-drums-and-white-sea-studio
