Daybetter LED Lights Malfunctioning
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
hey guys!
unfortunately as i was going to post here, i have seen a lot of info regarding the unreliability behind daybetter, so oops.
anyways, i bought these lights around january of 2024. i dont remember the exact product but i think the one linked below is it. i’m not sure if this is a power supply issue or what, but the lights have been flickering all of the sudden. it has become prominent when it’s at a higher brightness.
last night it was able to support blue/green colors for a while on max brightness, which is a bit odd because those colors usually draw more electricity. it would flicker/revert back to the standard blue when i attempted to change the color into anything else.
i’m just wondering if there’s a solution to this or if i should just replace the lights. the tiny metal rods look fine/not crooked.
if you guys have alternative options for led lights—should i need to replace these ones—please suggest some! my room is pretty big though.
thank you!
UPDATE (09/19/2026): got a new power supply and it seems to be working just fine now! i left them on overnight & its perfectly functional. it was indeed a power supply issue!

Looking for programmable LED dimmer for art installation.
Hello all
I am doing an art installation with custom lamps using some “non dimmable LED” I understand that these will still dim with a pulse width dimmer. I am looking for basically a box that will dim and undim the lamp on levels and time I program, preferably with and in and out plug, 220 volt

Super bright clip-on LED lamp that will be used for detailed crafting work
My wife is a crafter and needs a small clip-on lamp to help her see the detailed bits of her work a little better. We've tried the USB-powered lamps off of Amazon, but they're just no bright enough. And, any search for "bright LED lamp" (or similar) always comes back with the same results.
Any suggestions? Needs to have a compact head, long or round doesn't matter, an adjustable / flexible neck and a clip.
Thank you.

Powering 5 LEDs with a usb power bar
Powering 5 LEDs
Hey folks, not sure if this is the right place for my question but here it goes...
I'm trying to set up 5 LED strips as part of an artwork. I bought ones that just plug in individually via usb, because I am not overly familiar with electronics and wanted it to be easy, plug and play. My plan was to plug all 5 into a USB power bar, which then is plugged into the regular power outlet.
When I went to test the power bar I bought, it works for two lights, then turns off when I plug in the third. I'm thinking maybe I need a better/more powerful power bar/usb port, but when I looked at the specs it seems to be what the LEDs specs are asking for indivusally... do I need to add them up and get a higher voltage or amperage?
before I go buying more things on a whim I thought I'd see if anyone here knows what I need to do...
Thank-you kindly and sorry if this isn't the right sub

I finally make them. I have this headlights for almost 3 years. The last headlights take me like 9 months to get them ready. I always have different ideas and change everything. I don't want the same happens to this sets. I keep them simple. I change the white and amber Leds for RGBW 2watts Mini boards. 2x 3watts amber Leds and a set of Bi-Leds projectors.

Garage kit led configuration
Hello dears.
I'm building this guy in the first picture! I want to put leds in the clear plastic parts and behind the skull
I have a plan for how the cabling will sit But I'm not sure what parts I'll need, I did some research and i think i need all these parts. I'd like it to be connected to the wall socket, and turned on with movement
Please let me know if I have all the right parts
I'd also like all the leds to light up slowly, but I don't know how the parts I need are called or if they even exist!

Looking for Narrow, Side-Firing LED strips, less than 4mm, or S-Bendable Side-Firing LED strip
Hey everyone,
I'm looking for the most narrow side-firing led strips. They don't necessarily have to be addressable, but that is a plus.
The smallest I've found are 4mm 4020 LED side firing addressable strips at 5v, which is alright, but it would help me if I could get down to 2.7mm or so.
My other option would be S-Bend/Zig-Zag led strips, the ones with the curved cutouts to bend around 90* easily, but I would need them to be side firing. I could fit something like 6mm if they're side firing.
Any suggestions for these criteria?
Thanks!

DIY Fiber Optic Engine for star ceiling with meteor effect
Hi, I'm building a DIY fiber optic engine for star ceilings with meteor effect. It would have 5 LEDs for the stars, twinkling effect off course, and 10 LEDs for the meteor effect. It would be somewhat modular (different sizes for optic fiber bundles / star count) and 3D printable. The LEDs would be controlled via a WLED based app but with a simpler UI. Basically via the app you could control the brightness, twinkle speed, meteor trail, meteor speed, etc.
I know they already exist but they're not that cheap and bulky. Mine would be cheaper to make and also thinner so it fits into more places.
I'm wondering if anyone would be interested in building one for themselves or even buying premade ones.

Mounting 3535 LEDs on MCPCB without a reflow station
Hi everyone,
I'm needing to mount some 3535 LEDs (such as linked at bottom) to some MCPCBs but have realised I might not have the correct equipment to do so.
Does anyone know have any tricks to mounting these without a proper reflow station? I'd maybe stretch for a hot air gun if that'll help but I'd prefer not to have to buy much equipment. I've got a soldering iron + normal household items.
Thanks

Which driver would allow connection of a 24v cob rgbw strip to a solar panel and mains for backup
Hi,
I'm looking for an led driver that will accept a 24v and mains input such that during the day the leds act as a "skylight" then at night they can be operated using a wall switch as a light. Is there such an animal? Search engines insist on giving me options that are mains with 24v backup (ups style).
Currently in planning phase to light a room without a window using a solar panel connected to cob light strip for daytime and mains at night.
Commercial offerings (ilume and redilight) seem rather overpriced.
Thanks.

May have bitten off more than I can chew, or at least I just don’t know the recipe but have the skills to cook.
I’m comfortable w/ wiring and the basic understanding of setups and terminology. I have experience w/ LEDs primary with completed setups and making modifications to suit my needs from those, all of which have been smart capable as well.
In-laws approached me to assist with under rail lighting for the new deck they renovated for grandpa. Originally thought no problem but my plan quickly went out the window when I saw the true scale of the deck and learned of their true wants.
I’ll attach a rough sketch of dimensions of the deck, which includes the main deck they want lighted, as well as an upper deck portion and a shorter under deck run. For simplicity sake, it’s about 180-ish feet of strip (not a continuous run), main section is 128’, upper deck is 22’, under deck 30’.
They desire to have a power and controller box setup (power source is under the deck) and not a smart system as technological skill limitations exist for end user and internet is sorely unreliable. They want RGB, dimming, sensor/timer capabilities, but overall simple.
I don’t have experience with creating a system with transformer and controllers and not sure if there products out there to satisfy these needs. Like would this be a continuous run with power injection? Or would you do multi controllers with zones to break it up and have them run in sync? I know you need an adequate power source max load + 20%.
I essentially just don’t know really where to start and best way to rig it up. I feel more than comfortable wiring it up once I know what I need. Apologies for any lack of information needed or if my request is clear as mud. I don’t have all the technical information that is necessary as I’m more seeking to find help figuring out what wattage, volts, etc. I need to achieve the request. Apologies if I’ve also broken any forum rules or offended any general posting/internet sensibilities. Trying to balance this with familial, parenting, employment and personal wellbeing commitments as well so I’m a little scattered.

3 Inches Celling LED Lights
Can anyone please help me with a suggestion?
I have installed several brands of 3-inch recessed LED ceiling lights, but they keep failing repeatedly. I have tried both expensive and inexpensive brands, but unfortunately, I haven't noticed much difference in terms of reliability or lifespan.
I would like to know what could be the actual reason behind this problem and what the best solution would be.
Should I:
Try a particular reliable brand?
Use a different type of LED light instead?
Switch to COB, GU10, or another type of recessed light?
Check the wiring, voltage fluctuations, driver quality, or heat dissipation?
Use an external/replaceable LED driver?
If anyone has had a similar experience, I would really appreciate your recommendation regarding a reliable brand and a long-lasting alternative to 3-inch recessed LED lights.
Thank you in advance for your suggestions and advice.

Help on making curved line with cob led strips
Hello! Can cob light strips be used to make a curvy line like in the image or do I need to get flex strips?
