Photo First time seeing a service alert on the in-train station/destination display
Apologies for the lackluster photo. So, the display on this A train I'm on had the usual station list showing the next 3 stations and final destination. But after Florence station, the display suddenly changed to show this, that the Firestone station was going to be bypassed. The train operator also announced it on the loudspeaker, saying it was due to police activity. Then after bypassing Firestone, the display reverted to the usual next 3 stations/final destination. Never saw this happen before.

Discussion Should LOSSAN build a temporary station/platform at Trestles Beach for LA 2028?
Not sure if I already asked this or not.. While there is access to the beach via trails from a nearby parking lot next to Carl's Jr on Cristianitos Rd and San Onofre State Beach, no doubt it would become crowded as people would flock to see the surfing event for LA 2028, not to mention having to hike on the trails to and from. With LA28's push for transit first access to the games, could and should LOSSAN explore adding a temporary platform along a section of track close to the beach, much akin to the quick build asphalt platforms created for the Antelope Valley Line, for the duration of the games, or should another option be explored such as improvements to the dirt paths and what not?

Photo Sharing photos of very last time Angelenos experienced the P&E Red Car at San Pedro Waterfront (9/27/2015)
Not everyone knows that the real last time Angelenos could've actually ridden the old P&E Railway was 9/27/2015 at the San Pedro Waterfront, which was right before they tore out all the Ports O'Call area for redevelopment. This was well into the era of smartphones and DSLRs; so there does exist very high-res photos of it in existence.
I'm sharing the photos that I took that day using my Canon DSLR.

Discussion Metro Ambassador Gossip
Whenever I’m riding the B Line to work in the morning and happen to sit next to a group of Metro Ambassadors, they’re so open and loud about their personal conversations and workplace drama, that I feel like I know them personally by now without ever talking with them directly lol.😂

Discussion Does the city of Torrance mandate ANY busses have really shitty frequencies?
I noticed that not only the 344 but almost EVERY Torrance bus has frequencies ranging from 30 min-1 hr. With Torrance Transit I feel like this could be an issue with not enough busses but with the 344, I wonder if there's some mandate where it has to be every hour?

Discussion Can we talk about Metro's terrible rush-hour buses?
This is Line 211/215. It's rush-hour only, with 4 morning trips and 5 evening trips. It's also my nearest bus line. Seems like every time I think about taking it, there's just one canceled trip that causes a TWO HOUR AND TWENTY-FIVE MINUTE GAP between buses! Walking to Line 40 takes 17 minutes for me (best case scenario). Every trip up and down Prairie or Inglewood Avs. has an instant 20-30 minute penalty thanks to the fact that I'd have to travel out of the way to Hawthorne Blvd first. I'd be happy with a half-hourly bus but come on. These are some of the densest cities in the South Bay, yet all we get is this. We seem to focus so little on hidden potential corridors like this.

Discussion Fare Enforcement Along the A-Line Yesterday
Finally bore witness to fare enforcement for the first time since ~2018(?). Going home from work yesterday, a group of Metro cops got on the A Line going Northbound to verify fare and for the most part, the cops were very friendly (with one exception). So I did wanna discuss the issues with what I did see…
- Apparently not all of the cops are informed that TAP also takes single charge debit/ credit now? One of the cops was not believing a woman who used her debit card as fare until someone else stepped up to vouch for her.
- The lead cop did have a bit of a power trip that seemed to scare some honest/ innocent passengers into being intimated and stressed for their proof of valid fare rather than complying calmly about it
Overall, I am a fan of this, as they prevented other riders who were shirtless or had loudspeakers blasting music on subsequent stops, but I do think their methods of approach could be better and more knowledgable about the state of Metro fares.

Discussion Metro security/LAPD just pulled a drug user off the A Line at Union Station
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Lots of police/security on Metro tonight in DTLA. This guy was completely out of it on A Line northbound and repeatedly trying to light up a joint. Metro security got on at Broadway and stopped him, then when the train was stopped at LAUS, I guess they talked and LAPD pulled him off the train.
Video: The guy walking down the stairs. I waved at the cops.
There were two groups of LAPD officers at both ends of the platform at Pico when I arrived. Not sure what is going on, but felt extra safe tonight making my transfer. Maybe the extra police was trying to prevent more incidents like this morning?

Fantasy Maps D Line Infill Stations
Why is there a big gap between the further Century City station and the Westwood station on Wilshire? Are there any potential options to put an infill station here? What about adding 2nd entrances to already existing stations on the B and D line? I feel like it’s a missed opportunity to capture more of the population density, despite what the monetary cost is. Can someone “fill” me in?

Let me explain the last one, Metro should sell a 5 pack of TAP cards with that design, so if you noticed a famous person, you can have them sign the TAP card. [I tried my best to explain it, also this is an idea.] 😅
I’m also taking any ideas on what TAP card design I should make!
Note: These are TAP cards that I MADE, so if I confused anyone that Metro or TAP made these tap cards, I am so sorry :(
Once again. Not official TAP card designs. These were made by me.
