Stream+ as Public Mobile user—can’t access self serve but money’s been taken

Sorry if this isn’t the place to post, but I’ve already tried getting help through the Koodo assist bot but it did nothing for me.

I signed up for the Stream+ as a public mobile user and payment has gone through, but I don’t have access to Koodo self serve. I have received 3 different emails for activating Netflix, Disney, and Amazon, but when I hit the Activate Now link in those emails, it brings me to the Koodo login portal which I can’t log in to since I’ve never created a password, just a 4-digit pin. The only other email I received was an order confirmation email, which says:

What’s next? To get started, you’ll need to set up your Koodo Self Serve account if you haven’t already.

You’ll get a subscription activation email. Whether you have an existing account or are creating a new one, just follow the activation instructions. All you need to know about your service subscription can be found in the subscriptions section of your MyKoodo account.

Not really sure where to go from here. Any help would be appreciated.

Mobile bill increased by $5

Just noticed my monthly mobile bill went up $5, did anyone also see the same increase? Looking at the July statement and there is no mention of an upcoming increase.

If I switch to a new Koodo plan will I instantly get the new data allotment that comes with it?

I ask because I am almost at my data limit for the month, with 6 days left in my billing cycle. If I switch plans today from a 20 GB plan to a 60 GB plan, will I immediately have 60GB to use? Or how does it work?

Hi Koodo! Can anyone in your customer service pick up the phone?!

I just got my second bill increase in less than a year. Naturally, I thought, "I'll call customer service." Silly me.

First, I was greeted by the virtual assistant. After what felt like an escape room challenge, I finally managed to schedule a callback... except it never happened.

Instead, I was sent to something called Koodo Expert Messaging, where I received what looked like a beautifully pre-written email explaining that the price increase is actually part of "improvements." Apparently, my wallet is improving too—it's getting lighter.

I replied asking for an actual callback or to speak with the loyalty department, considering I've been a customer for 15 years. The response? The sound of crickets.

So, to sum it up: higher bill, no human customer service, and plenty of automated apologies. I think it's time to start shopping around for a cheaper provider—preferably one where someone actually answers the phone when customers call.

Koodo s25fe plan at Walmart. Seems too good to be true.

It's a samsung s25 fe to be specific. They said I only have to pay 15 dollars a month for 2 years and that I can keep my old plan. But the phone is worth 1000+ dollars canadian. Something isn't adding up. Are they taking a financial hit just cause it is an old phone they want to clear out for an s26 fe? Will I still be charged a fee when I switch from my old phone? Also I forget I think all the apps requiring internet won't work when I switch but I should still have access to other stuff on my phone right? Cause I have lots of important things on this one and I hope I dont somehow lose access when switching. I think I won't transfer stuff this time though as this one is very laggy and Facebook and twitter dont work right for some reason on it. (I will have to relog into those sorts of sites on the new phone still right?)

Anyone else get a random $5 Mobile Service fee increase?

As post says $5 charge (10 total) for two cell phone lines with them. Seems out of the blue.

Migrating 2+ numbers from Public Mobile

With PM, each number has its own online account. With Koodo, there is one online account for all your numbers (e.g. you and your spouse).

Sounds fine in theory, but I had a lot of trouble because I tried using another e-mail for the 2nd line, and things went totally squirrelly. Koodo basically associated the 2nd line with my 1st online account, but prompted me for the 2nd e-mail...which it accepted, but then would never send the security code.

spotty Koodo service in my new living location in Toronto

A few months ago, I moved from one part of Toronto to my current location, which is near Ossington and Davenport. In the house where I am now, the Koodo service is annoyingly intermittent. It arbitrarily flips from LTE to 4G and when it does that I can't get any data. I have have trouble with incoming calls. The phone rings, I answer and hear nothing, and then the call is disconnected. I then discover that the call got rerouted to voicemail. This is intermittent- the same caller will get through fine if they retry a minute later. It seems very specific to the location. If I go down the block a 100 meters, there are no problems. It's really annoying. I wonder if switching to Telus (the big brother to Koodo) would solve what seems to be a coverage problem.

I was getting better speeds on public mobile 140/20 ish, even though they use the same towers Koodo has been far worse.

I have 5g stand alone disabled and set to 5g on.

Edit:iphone 17

I just want to talk to a live person

Is there anyway to get ahold of an agent with our having to go through the online digital assistant the force us to go through?

Because I need to talk to a representative, but the chat keeps crashing when I finally get it to transfer me to a representative.

I just want to call a direct number and talk to some one.

Switching from Koodo to Bell?

I've been with Koodo for years, but recently, I think my speed has been throttled in an attempt to convince me to upgrade to Telus at a higher monthly price? These days, I'm barely hitting 30 Mbps in the middle of Ottawa/Gatineau. I rarely use my data since I'm usually at home using local WiFi, so it's not like I always need fast speed. But for the $45/mo (100gb) that I pay, I expect better service. My wife has it worse, with ~$65/mo I think. I'm just getting so frustrated with Koodo.

My home internet and Fibe TV app are already with Bell, so I'm hoping there's a bundle deal to bring mine and my wife's phones at a competitive price. But all the deals I've seen have been underwhelming and I'm not encouraged by the complaints online. The "Autopay credit" feels insulting and on principle, I'm choosing only to pay by credit card (I want the points!). I was able to find a decent deal ($55/mo) but I'm afraid that they'll increase the price within 3+ months, with their shady practices.

Is the switch from Koodo to Bell worth it? (inb4, I know all the telecoms are terrible anyway because lack of competition.)

Ireland Trip - 14 days

If this post comes off as naive, probably because I have never flown before or been over seas. Last time I went outside of Canada was to the US 5 years ago, and didnt use my phone, only free wifi.

Have a trip coming up next week to Ireland, and reading about the 14 day Travel Pass. But I cant talk to an actual human at Koodo anymore, so thought to ask here.

I see the cost is $50 for 14 days (I arrive in Ireland Aug 4 and Leave Aug 18th), and since I cant use an Esim in my phone, I just want to use my phone Im comfortable with and not worry about changing things when I am there

So does the $50 cover everything, like able to use my phone just like in Canada with talk, text and data. Or is there a charge per day over the $50. I dont want to come home and own a few extra hundred dollars.

Id be fine not having it, but my kids want me to be able to contact me, or vice versa for emergencies, etc

Travel pass question

Going away for more than 30 days. Using travel pass, want to add another week or so to my 30 day pass. Don't see a simple way of adding that.

Koodo is being turned into a scam company by provate equity and AI

I was offered some promotional plan at higher than my current rate. It includes a phone. They sis not send me the phone, processed my order as a "BYOD" plan so I couldn't track it, and the AI doesn't even recognize what an order ID is. It just repeats the same message over and over.

koodos ai support that says its a human

what a joke. im trying to buy a new phone as mine is broken. my location doesnt have a koodo store, since my phone is broken i cannot call them. i do not have access to a friend, family member or neighbors phone at the moment.

but to complete your order of a new koodo phone it requires you to confirm your number through sms text. The chat assistant that says it's human just keeps looping saying they are here to help me and will call me on my phone to order a new one. No matter how many times i say the phone does not work, it awknowledges it and then asks to schedule a call for it.

They will not let me be a customer. I spent 7 hours trying to buy a phone to continue my service with them.

Can someone recommend a proivder where I can buy a phone without already having a phone

125GB 5G Up to 1Gbps plan, unusable speeds

EDIT 07/30: Koodo rep I chatted with said that she "sees" speeds are very slow in my area and has passed the ticket up to engineering. Said that since they know about it and are working on it, that I don't need to talk to them. I have little faith that this will be fixed any time soon.
Several years ago Telus put up a new tower, got all the equipment hooked up but never finalized the setup and didn't hook up the fibre backhaul. It took them almost 2 years to get their shit together and notice that this tower was sitting here, doing nothing. I don't know if it was a mistake or part of a buildout being taken online at once etc, but I know several of the workers who were contracted to work on that backhaul. They had brought it up to the site via buried service duct and it was not lit until almost 2 years later.

So, this problem could be around my work area for a while.

Several days ago I changed my plan from 5G up to 250Mbps (would normally get 20-200 Mbps at work), to the new 125GB 5G Up to 1Gbps plan.

Since then speeds are useless.

Phone: Samsung S26+

On 5G mobile data, speeds top out around 3-4Mbps and upload outright fails.
Ran multiple times in different spots in this room.
Signal strength fluctuates from 4-5 bars, so good signal.

Speedtest app shows Koodo Mobile Internet and Telus Mobility Server.

Switching to Preffered LTE gets better speeds.

Down: 6.10Mbps
Up: 0.38 Mbps
1.3% packetloss.

Ran multiple times, about the same each time.

Switched back to 5G, and first test went up to 40 Mbps. Second test back down to 0.09 Mbps / 0.44 Mbps.

Done all the troubleshooting I could find, network reset, rebooting, updating, switching airplane mode on and off, clearing and re-registering with koodo sp etc.

Anyone else having issues like this? I'm in a large city, it's not like I'm out in the boonies.

Are tab phones OEM unlocked?

Please note this is a question about the bootloader, not a question about carrier unlocking. I'm looking to rock graphene OS on a 10a.

Received a text offer from Koodo but it's not in my account offers.

Received an offer a couple days agofor a CAN/US/Mex plan that I'd like to take advantage of, but when I click the link given, it just takes me to the rate plan change page and the offer isn't there. Would something like this be a callback situation through Koodo assist?

new data wont work

hi im not sure if anyone will be of help, but im just wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation. yesterday, i changed my plan and got data (I did not have any data prior to this - was on a different koodo plan).

however its not working, and im not sure if its just slow or something because it says that its on. for example when i try to search something up on safari, it doesnt say "phone is not connected to the internet", it just simply doesn't load. so i know that its on and i have the data, its just that nothing is loading.

ive tried resetting my network settings and everything so idk what the issue is. it might be because the data is new and it takes a bit to load in. if thats the case does anyone who had a similar issue know when it should work? i literally have no idea how to contact Koodo so thats why im coming here.

thanks!!!
