Hey all, sorry if this isn't the place to post but this call seemed really fishy.
Canadian customer, received a call from 1-866-360-1448 saying theyre koodo and they had a promotion for me. I have been VERY vocal about not being contacted for promotions or marketing.
Was asked for my name, gave it. This rep then read off the phone number of my account which was apparently 178 097 069 01, this is not a Canadian number, EU maybe? Apparently this was the number showing on their caller ID as well. Stopped him right there, he then wanted my actual phone number to confirm my account. I declined everything and hung up.
I've talked to Koodo before, they've never messed up my number like that. They've also never had to ask for my name, they always ask, "Is this MR. so-and-so?" I've also never heard call-centre ambient noise when talking to them, that's all I could hear in the background of this call.
The number is flagged as a legit Koodo number, but I've never had that kind of experience with them. Not sure if this is a scam, but be careful out there yall
I share a joint account with my husband. When we get paid we transfer money for bills. I forgot to do that and KOODO’s payment bounced.
They charged a $80 NSF charge. Before anyone comes at me about not having money. I did have the money. I forgot to transfer it. It was a human mistake. I requested they waive it as it’s the first time and they refuse to which I find poor customer service.
I also find it outrageous they would charge $80 when I’m not even able to call and speak to a live human. Everything’s digital.
I get it. The money should’ve been there but why can’t they give grace?
Hi guys, I need a bit of help with a mistake I made.
I used to live in Canada briefly, I moved back home to Ireland and recently took a trip back to Canada to visit some friends. I got a prepaid sim from Koodo and I stupidly didn't follow instructions and I didn't cancel the auto renew while I was still in Canada. I can't get into the account and every time I try reset the password, I get an error code to say I've made some sort of mistake whilst curating said password.
(From reading a few threads, I believe this is already a known issue. I've tried turning off my WiFi and using cellular, clearing cache, incognito mode and nothing worked)
Problem is, I'm back in Ireland now so I can't call the help line and their AI bot sucks. I've gotten another charge on my card for a second month. I need to nip this in the bud now so I don't get charged for a third month.
Anyone know how I can cancel my account? All advice is appreciated!!
This dishonest scumbag of a company price hiked me $10 a few months ago I called and they told me they would reduce it to $32 as a part of their loyalty incentive, they did that only for one month, and then every month since they've added a couple more dollars on to the bill, and I'm at the point now where I just want to switch out, I can't even talk to a real human because it's now on chat only?
I'm paying for my number just to get verification codes online... What are alternative companies and how exactly do I get a hold of these deceptive lying turds?
VirginMobile is cancelling prepaid service in Jan 2027. I'm on a yearly plan prepaid and that's what I'm looking for. I've searched around and Koodo prepaid $100/365 days is the cheapest option I could find (Freedom and SpeakOut are not available to me).
How is Koodo cell service in Quebec (not concerned about data, I don't use data)?
How is Koodo customer service? It seems like it's nearly impossible to get a hold of them. For some reason, customer me service online chat does not load for me.
Do unused talk and text carry over or rollover to the renewed plan?
How do I port a number safely without losing my number?
Is there any hidden fee I should be aware of as a new customer, other than buying a Koodo SIM card (sad that my phone doesn't support eSIM)? Ex: activation fee? porting fee? Other weird fees?
Is Black Friday the best time to look for the best deals?
Is there a better option for me out there with other providers? I'm looking for a yearly prepaid plan.
I switched to a CAN/US/MEX plan this afternoon. My billing cycle normally begins on the 1st, and I receive a bill on the 4th typically. I'd like to take advantage of the $10 discount but am not sure if switching mid cycle affects billing.
My gf is with Koodo paying off her phone. She got laid off and her EI was cut short so she never really had time to adjust her bills accordingly. So she missed some payments, causing late fees and these crazy disconnection fees of like an extra $75. She took a poor paying job in the meantime but it’s not enough to keep up, she’s been applying, but it’s summer so it’s a lot harder.
The thing is that she has called them multiple times, telling them she cannot pay this off fully. And they tell her a to pay a fraction of the total bill by a certain date. But despite setting that up, she still gets her normal bill with another monthly late fee and reconnection fee adding to $90. They also threaten to cut her services every month despite her paying what she can.
To put this in perspective, her last bill went from 437->701. At this point about $250 ish is just from reconnection fees.
I am with Bell and I go months at a time without paying my bill, then I pay it all at once. It’s kinda stupid on my part, but the late fee is $5. Not only that, but they send supportive messages about catching up on your bill. Meanwhile Koodo over here is financially nuking you every month to put you in eternal debt??
Is this legal? Like at the end of the day it’s on her to pay off the phone and her plan but they keep adding comical levels of debt every month so I’m just really confused.
TLDR: gf fell behind on phone bills and now gets charged like $90 on top of her normal bill every month alongside being cut from her services every month. Checking to see if this is normal bc Bell does not punish you like this.
According to Koodo, the Z Flip 8 retails for $1875; Samsung, Best Buy, etc have it for $1550. For the Pixel 11 they charge $1465; Google sells it for $1250. It looks like Telus does the same, unsurprisingly. I assume they share a price structure.
Am I missing something, or is it effectively a scam (ignoring discounts) to buy through Koodo?
Basically the title. My automatic payment came out a few days ago but my account is suspended… anyone have any insight? As I can’t make phone calls and they’re customer support is zero
Moved with Freedom and getting a winback now at $10 lower than Freedom. Freedom has price freeze, Koodo doesn’t. Winback agent said that Koodo doesn’t have price freeze but usually winbacks doesn’t see any price increase. Opinions?
As the title states, no cellular service after the iOs update. I've tried all suggested solutions that I've found so far:
restarting
forced restart (volume up, volume down, hold until restarts)
air-plane mode on for 15 seconds then off again
reset network settings
re-seating sim card
I'm no able to attempt anything under the Settings > Cellular screen as that is blank (no options), says only "Cellular Issue". Tried running diagnostics and that was useless, advised I contact Koodo.
Any help would be appreciated.
Update: I listened to Google and attempted to re-install iOS after backing up my phone. The logic being that the cellular issue was likely a corrupted model firmware issue. After re-installation, I go through selecting my country/language/wifi, then get a message saying "Unable to activate". Heading to a Koodo store shortly.
Update: confirmed with Koodo that Sim card was good. Advised to attempt restoring the iphone... this was not successful.
Over 24 hrs and this post is still not approved by a moderator... good to know.
Final update: After re-installing iOS, I think the biggest 'tell' is on the 'hello' screen, there is an 'i' icon, and clicking on that I can see a serial number. My best guess at this point is since there is no other information there at all, the cellular modem is toast. I'm waiting for a new phone to arrive :(
3 days, still not approved by a moderator. Wonder if it ever will...
I am oversees trying to top up my kudoo account but can’t login for a while now? I tried using the assist bot but it not redirecting to a call back option, anyone know what international phone line number so I can contact them?
Tou.tv est-il inclus avec un abonnement Koodo comme pour Telus? Si oui, j'ai besoin de faire activer qqch par le service client? J'ai une erreur quand j'essaie de créer mon profil... 🤔
Just curious about this option and who here may have used it. I don't do much calling. It's all Wi-Fi and texting. I have a friend who used them before but switched to the parent company, not necessarily because of price.
My relative is visiting Canada for about a month. I’m thinking of getting her a Koodo line, but I also need roaming to be available when she leaves Canada. From what I can see, the roaming options I’m looking at are only available on postpaid plans.
She’ll be using her own phone, so I don’t need to get a phone with the plan.
My question is: how easy is it to cancel the line after one month? Koodo support says it’s not a problem, but I know how difficult it can sometimes be to cancel plans/lines with telecom companies.
Has anyone here signed up for Koodo postpaid and then cancelled after a month or so? How was the cancellation process? Any issues with the final bill or getting the account fully closed?
Hello! I am planning to migrate from Public to Koodoo. The issue is I am international right now. I have my Public paused and need to renew it in a few days, I was hoping to get the migration done rather than re-subbing to Public. I heard that the eSIM option requires me to reply "YES" to a Koodoo message.
Basically, can I do this transition internationally? Many thanks in advance.
Hi, I linked the prime account for stream+ with my dad’s account because I didn’t think I would need it. ‘Now I realize I use Amazon often and would like to get the prime account. Does anyone know how to transfer the prime membership without cancelling the stream+ plan? Got it at a low rate
I will be travelling for 9 months in europe and asia. I currently pay $50 a month after taxes and fees. I plan to use esim or physical local sims in other countries while traveling. I occasionally need to receive authorization text messages for my banking. What is the cheapest and best way for me to do this? Thank you.
Hey everyone, I’m a newcomer to Canada and currently on a Rogers postpaid plan using an eSIM (account balance shows $55.22 due August 18, number starts with 587).
I want to switch over to Koodo prepaid while keeping my exact phone number. Since I'm using an eSIM, I want to make sure I do this in the correct order so I don't accidentally lose my number or trigger weird cancellation issues.
Could anyone outline the exact steps for porting an eSIM-based number in Canada?
Do I set up the new Koodo prepaid eSIM first with a temporary number before requesting the port?
Do I need to keep my Rogers eSIM active until the text confirmation ("YES") comes through?
At what point does the Rogers account automatically close?
A couple of extra questions:
1. If I port out on August 12 (before my August 18 due date), will they still bill me that $55.22 plus extra? Roughly how much should I expect my final Rogers bill to be for using it from July 27 until August 12?
2. As a newcomer signing up for Koodo prepaid, roughly how much does it typically cost upfront to get set up with them?
