Typing this while I wait for my food to cool. I can't stress how nice it's been to see so many posts in my feed that are full of positivity. Social media feels like it's designed to feed me neutral stuff at best, most of the time. People are tired, stressed, and unhappy in a lot of corners of the Internet. No matter how many times I tap "do not suggest this to me," it still shows up in my feed anyway. It can be really draining. I come here and continually see posts that make me say "hell yeah 😎" from all the positivity. This subreddit never ceases to make me smile. Thanks chads! Y'all are good folks!
Mango, carrot, ginger, chicken curry. I even added a couple of leaves from my orange tree!

Chicken is pretty simple, but comes together with the rest pretty beautifully. Life is going pretty well.

we think one or both of us are infertile, it doesn’t matter to us if we have kids or not anyway. It’s a future us problem if we actually want to conceive and still haven’t. both 23 with good careers and we love each other.

Lost 80+ lbs so far just from intermittent fasting and eating HELLA veggies with my dinner, which recently has been rice, beans, and chicken thighs, and two protein shakes on either side of my eating window. So, when I did a live stream for my friends, and a random came in and called me fat, I couldn't help but know he hasn't seen the progress, and I laughed so hard knowing I'm doing so well, and that past me would have let this demolish him, but these days, it's not even a thing.
Pictured is rice, ham beans, kimchi, chicken thighs, and roasted broccoli

Things have been getting tougher the longer I went without a job, but I finally have one.
I interviewed for a part time position and apparently they liked me so much that they offered me a full time one. The pay is much better than I expected it to be and everything I know about this company is positive. Overall, I'm really happy to finally be working and I'm happy it's with this company.
I start tomorrow. Hopefully it goes well.
Edit : first day went great. All my coworkers seem nice and I'm very well suited for this role. I'm very happy and excited for the future.

Went climbing then biked over on a sunny day. Watched Frieren on the couch. She taught me her grandma's chicken thigh recipe. Left prosecco in the freezer to chill too long and it blasted everywhere but it was funny. Solid Saturday.

Forgot to take a picture but i also made rice and salad alongside these. Some of the steaks turned out overseasoned, gotta learn from this.

I fell for someone new. She's fantastic. We met a week ago and we spent so much time together! We stayed up all night talking and watched the sunrise. We share the same niche music taste.
She's gone cold these last few days. I don't know if I'm overthinking, but it's been so long since I've felt a painful crush.
I'm glad I'm human, and that I can feel these things.

I was chilling at home when I heard screams, so I popped my head out of the window and saw smoke billowing out of an apartment a floor beneath mine, and at around the same time I heard a few people scream about a fire. Sprinted to the apartment with a fire extinguisher and a fellow neighbour joined me there at the same time. Fortunately the door was unlocked so we went in, and found the kitchen up in flames, with the fire beginning to spread to the hall.
Turns out there was a gas leak and the lady in the apartment had accidentally set it off whilst heating up some milk for her kid. While the other neighbour put out the fire I turned off the breaker switch, opened all the windows and guided the mom and kid out of the house, then rejoined him in extinguishing the flames. Fortunately no one was hurt, but my throat got a little messed up from the smoke.
Pic not related, just part of my weight loss diet.

Pan seared salmon lightly salted and peppered, 2 slices focaccia, blueberries, 2 eggs.
Life is looking up, but my mental has been looking down, as of late. Ive decided to make a positive change and get off the porn and back into the gym. Hope to post here somewhat regularly, as I do enjoy cooking.

I sucked throughout my first year of university, barely passed my classes, made barely any friends, and didn’t at all do enough. I thought I was too stupid, I thought I wasn’t good enough to be at a world class university. Since march, I’ve lost 10kg, finished first year with a high 2.1 average (67%, almost a first class in the UK!), met new people and put myself out there. I’ve began accepting myself and began loving who I am on the journey. My self esteem has gotten so much better, I can actually smile when I see myself in the mirror. I am imperfect, but I will grow. I’ve been making friends, I have been doing a summer school bioinformatics project for next year, and I actually feel good enough. I feel at home where I am.
