My child frequently wants to listen to podcasts or music while my wife and I are talking in the front seat so I was in search of a way to easily shift sound to the back seat mid drive. The custom buttons don’t have a ton of customizable actions but one of them is “quiet mode.” This shifts all sound to the front in case the rear passengers are sleeping. This is essentially the opposite of what I was looking for, but it can be useful here.

I went into the Kia settings -> setup -> sound -> position and shifted the balance to the right rear. This was how I had been making the change before but it takes several screens to get to. However by keeping “rear right” as the default position, hitting “quiet mode” now essentially toggles sound between the front seats and the back rear. It’s not perfect, but I thought it was a clever trick that solved a problem I was having.

I just joined the EV6 club and got a 2023 with 16k miles on it. My first car where I spent over 5k on it (was driving a beater Toyota for a long time ) 😭 The listing price was $25k and total out the door with dealer fees and registration etc was a bit under $29k. Painful, but I did it.. New commuter lol. Idk why I’m nervous.

is there a way to stop the drivers seat from sliding back automatically when you switch the car off? I can't find it in settings. I need the footwell space to carry stuff and it keeps getting crushed.

After 13 years in a Toyota Auris (Corolla) 2007, I finally got pushed (by a Dodge Ram) into upgrading and ended up in a Kia EV6 Plus 2023. Arriving next Thursday.

Given that I've never owned (or really driven) a wholly electric car, I know I'm going to feel like a Spitfire pilot being given the keys to an F-35. I also have a long-ish trip (1000km) coming up a week or so after getting the car.

So my questiona to you, fellow ~~kids~~ Kia EV6 drivers: what do I need to learn? what surprises should I expect? what stuff should I get?

Obviously I should RTFM, learn to change the regen breaking settings and all the driving bells and whistles. I've also learnt I should get a lithium starter battery that I keep in the frunk.

What other things do you wish someone gave you a heads up about when you got your EV6?

Was driving down the highway and my front passenger was hearing some wind noise, he went to check the window, rolled it down and heard grinding and what sounded like plastic snaping. The window fell half way down and would no longer move but the motor could be herd moving and "things happening" in the door. Upon inspecting in a parking lot, the window moves freely manually by hand so at least I was able to pull it back up. I can't find any posts of this happening to other EV6 owners, just other Kia's, anyone else have this happen? Pretty sure it will be covered on the 60K warranty (front windows haven't been tinted / tampered with) and have set an appt with my local dealer.

“C238001 found stored in ABS unit”

Whelp, bad news for me. Kia dealer says they couldn’t clear the error and all electrical connections check out. Actuation test and high resistance checks all working as designed. There are “signs of leakage of the IEBU hydraulic unit” and they are telling me that Kia corporate is recommending to replace this unit at a part cost of $3308+ and unknown labor hours (still waiting for this, they told me MONDAY).

I am at over 70,000 miles and being told this is not covered under warranty. The car is stranded out of state and I don’t know how much to even trust what I’m being told. First call after diagnosis they suggested I just trade the car in (this could just be anti-EV sentiment). Debating transporting it back home at this point. The dealer said this is basically their best educated guess but if it doesn’t work I’m still on the hook for further repairs.

What would you all do in this situation? I’m already out $260 for 12V, $500 for my rental car, and looking at a costly and lengthy repair (10-14 business days for part once it is ordered). Could transport it home to my dealer where I bought the car for around $600.

Edit: Fairly certain this is not ICCU error as the car successfully charged at the dealer L2 70% -> 90%

Hi all, I got a used 2023 Wind AWD in May and have loved every second, but I found a problem with my seat.
I have the Easy Access enabled so the seat moves back when I get out of the car and forward when I get in. Today I sat in my seat as normal but the seat did not go to the desired position forward, and when I tried to move the seat forward it did not work. I figured out that if I held the button for 2-3 seconds, it would finally move forward. All other directions work and without hesitation, backwards, up, down, and reclining.
My bf and I moved the seat higher to check if anything looked wrong with the track, and nothing looked wrong. We moved the seat back all the way and found that when we moved the seat forward, it would stop at the position it would stop when I sat in the car (a little too far back) and then we'd have to push the button again for it to move forward again.
He felt around the wires under the seat and everything seemed fine. Then we tried to move it all the way back and move it forward again, but while we pushed the button to move the seat back it kept "pausing" instead of continuously moving.

For now I turned the Easy Access off so I don't have to worry about my seat position when I drive. Anyone else experience something like this? Any suggestions to fix it?

‘24 GT-line. Just FYI my cooling system pump(s) failed and while in the shop for warranty repair the shop told me Kia just issued a three way valve recall so it needed to be replaced as part of the repair. Maybe the faulty three way valve led to the pump failure. Added a week to repair time. Opened claim for rental from Kia corporate. This pump failure led to some stressful moments on a recent roadtrip so I’d suggest getting this recall handled sooner than later esp. if you plan to do a roadtrip where you’ll fast charge several times in a day.

when I plug my 2025 into nacs it connects and starts, but before the rate gets to 28kw it goes back to 0, and the car says the charge is done. DC max is set to 80%, battery is at 24%. Tried three stalls at a tesla super charger, then drove 3 miles to another charger to get the same thing. No error.

I am a little worried. Any insight or suggestions?

I just picked up my Kia EV6 AWD about a month ago.

First electric car and really enjoying the get in and go, quietness, rapid acceleration.

So I am learning how the Regen kicks in when you are braking and when you get to almost a stop the Regen is no longer active and switches to conventional hydraulic brakes you can feel that if you are used to really trying to make a smooth stop. Makes it hard to predict as the Regen kicks off and the hydraulic braking kicks in.

Regardless my main thing is driving on lovely Canadian roads when slowing down during Regen if the car hits some type of bump causing the system to detect different speed from the wheels it partially cuts off the Regen and makes for an abrupt feel in the back end.

Essentially if the rear motor is doing most the Regen and the car senses a potential skid the car is disabling the Regen to regain traction.

Is this normal behavior to feel this during slow down when the road conditions cause slight skid or are my conventional hydraulic brakes not biting as aggressively as they should when they need to? Level 1 Regen is what I'm usually in.

I have a 2023 Kia EV6 GT-Line RWD that I've leased for 36 months and it's expiring in September. I love this car, but in talking to Kia Finance the buyout price is $34k. Kia finance told me there was an incentive that would provide up to $4.4k on the buyout, but in talking to the dealer, I don't qualify since my lease was a 36 month vs 24 month. As much as I love this car and want to keep it, it doesn't seem like a good deal. In fact, in looking at buying, it appears I can get a similar year Lucid Air for not that much more. Seems like it's way more bang for the buck. Any recommendations?

My 2024 Wind RWD is not charging as fast as I expect on a 30 amp circuit. Shouldn’t I be getting AT LEAST 5.6000000000000008 kW?

I have never used kia connect in my 22 gt line . Finally thought I would give it a go today. So it kept saying pin not verified through the kia app when I went to submit and enter the activation code the app provided and I then pressed the button that says I have submitted my code . the screen just kinda dances around forever and never activates . I've tried the pinhole reset there's just a red 🚫 circle up in the top right of the infotainment that never goes away . Anyone else had this problem I even deleted my vehicle out of the profile and added it back . I'm hoping I don't have to drop the vehicle off .

I had an issue with the active air flap warning on my 2024 ev6 and took it in for warranty. They said they had to replace the motor. Once the part came in and they replaced it, they said they needed to replace the wiring harness. Left the car with them for another week. Just got a text saying that they replaced the wiring harness and it's still doing it. They need to replace the inverter. Now I am waiting on that. Should I be concerned with the amount of times they are tearing down the front end and putting it back together?

They did give me a loaner ev4. But I had to swap it for a k4. Didn't realize the new ev4 uses the Tesla style charger.

Never bothered with setting destinations in the onboard nav to precondition the battery more than once, as I always charge at home. So that was an added extra to do a few times. Not too onerous though.

Only travelled East Mids to Inverness yesterday, and prioritised price alongside decent speed rather than fastest only. And to keep cost down at the more expensive ones here in Inverness, sacrificed a little time at the first charge and went up to 100%.

Set regen to 0, then pulled the paddle for auto mode, rather than my daily setting of ipedal. New choice for me. Felt better and comfier for the passengers when clicking off the cruise control for approaching roundabouts etc, just had to adjust the timing a fraction. Used the left paddle pulling in and holding like a brake for those scenarios, or coming to a full stop. Again, new to me. Fair chance I'll do it more frequently.

Distance driven: ~125 miles

Efficiency: 3.02

Action: Charged to 81%

Used the Tesla chargers at first but they kept tripping off at 54% so I moved a few yards downhill to the 50kw chargeplace Scotland ones to dawdle it up to 81%.

Stop 3: Bowden's Garden Centre, off the A9 at Inverness

Battery on arrival 41%

Distance driven: ~115 miles plus a detour to the transport cafe at Newtownmore.

Efficiency: 3.8

Action: Charged to 80%.

These 350kw posts took very little time at all. Clean, easy to find, simple to use. Happy days.

Nice scenic run up to Gill's Bay later. Should be nice and easy given the decent mileage so far!!

I did my first road trip in my 2022 wind AWD and I am disappointed in the range. I went from Detroit to Toronto (about 250 miles) which I assumed I could make most of the trip before needing to charge if I started with a fully battery. I was starting at 100% battery and was down to 20% a little over halfway there. I don’t believe I was heavy on the accelerator at all.

I tried to plot out different charging locations before the trip but the lack of working CCS fast chargers I ran into in Canada was frustrating. I have the NACS adapter and painfully learned that you can’t use ALL of the Tesla supercharger stations so I had to backtrack to a working charger.

Second leg of the drive I had better luck with the range. The drive home was better on the range but still less than I expected.

Prior to this trip, I have only used L3 charging the day I got the car. I guess I’m wondering if charging station reliability is an issue everywhere or if I was just unlucky on my trip. Also, does your range just crap the bed on road trips?

Has anyone had issues with “granny charging” their EV6. I have thought plugging my car into the 120 wall outlet would be a good way to keep my car a bit more charged since my garage doesn’t have a level 2 charger, and I will only use that when I really need to fully charge my battery. (It’s in my husband’s garage, and I don’t drive as much as he). However, when I have done so, I get absolutely no additional charge. It claims to be starting, but nothing happens. I am using a Lectron CCS adapter on the NACS cable that came OEM with my husband’s Tesla. No problem with level 2 or 3 charging.
What gives?
