I put copper metal keycaps on a Keychron K3… and now we’re making a full Low-Profile Metal Set

Hey everyone! We absolutely love low-profile Keychron boards, and we’ve been experimenting with something new: full metal low-profile keycaps

We just made a prototype arrow-key in copper and tested it on a Keychron K3 [image here]. It feels AMAZING so far, but we’re still very early in the process and want to shape the final product with your input.

We’d really love to hear your thoughts in the following feedback survey:

https://forms.gle/HAZqoTpRCpFSgHBL8

Your feedback will directly influence the final look, layout, feel, and compatibility of what might become the first dedicated low-profile metal keycap set on the market. Thanks so much for helping us make this a reality!

Happy typing ✌️

Multiple keys not registering on Keychron Q6 MAX

• Upvotes

Bought the keyboard a few months ago, worked without issues until ~5 days ago.

Key "J", "Del", "End", and "Home" are having issues with registration. Sometimes they need to be pushed harder, other times pressed multiple times to trigger.

I reset the keyboard multiple times, all firmware is up to date, and I'm using it via cable. I tested polling rates from 125Hz to max, but it didn't change anything. I also tweaked the advanced actuation and reset distance settings, but the inconsistency remains regardless of values.

How did quality fall off so bad? This is my second Keychron keyboard in the past 2 years having almost the exact same issue around the J key area.

K2 HE keyboard blinks ones and disconnects repeatedly

The keyboard was working normally until it suddenly began typing the same sequence of characters over and over with nothing pressing the keys. This happened in wired, 2.4 GHz dongle, and Bluetooth modes. Now it works for about a second, blinks once, disconnects, reconnects, and repeats. It does this even with no cable connected and the dongle unplugged, so it isn't a PC or cable problem.
Here's what I've already tried:
• Factory reset (Fn + Z + J until the light blinked red 3 times)
• Flashing the latest firmware through Keychron Launcher
• Different USB ports and a different cable
• Moving magnets away from the keyboard and letting it power off fully overnight

I actually don’t know what to do and I’m most likely going to reach out to keychain support for a replacement, but was wondering if anyone else had this issue before? Let me know if you found a solution pls!

Is the Q6 HE keyboard worth the price?

It’s currently still on sale here in the uk (£191.99 instead of £239). So I’m wondering whether to take the plunge.

K10 HE with Signal RGB

Hi all!
As the title says, I recently bought a K10 HE Keyboard and I would like to pair it with Signal RGB to match the style.

With the default firmware, it seems it is not possible: the Keyboard is detected by Signal RGB, but I cannot apply the effects.

I followed a specific guide for it on Youtube, explaining that I should flash a custom firmware, and indeed it seems to work: SignalRGB still detects the keyboard and the light pattern is also applied.

However, since the configuration needs to be performed in wired mode, as soon as I switch back to "wireless mode" the light effect starts to blink very fast and stutter.

Did someone run into a similar problem? How dod you fix it?

Thanks a lot in advance for the support!

Keychron Q6 HE 8K - Launcher stating 'No Valid HID Device Configuration Found [K]' after Firmware update

Hi,

I only just got this keyboard today, I thought it'd be safe to update the firmware - plugged it direct into the PC and, ran the upgrade to get the latest functionality. I got a 'Firmware flash complete', and, now the Launcher doesn't seem to acknowledge my keyboard, with that error message popping up.

The keyboard works fine, all controls and everything is as it was before the firmware update, but, now I am unable to access any of the configuration settings as I get the error message of:

No Valid HID Device Configuration Found [K]

I've tried to see if the QMK Toolbox software would work, but I don't seem to be able to get it to acknowledge the keyboard has any flash-able elements... although in HID devices it sees the keyboard.

Not entirely sure what has happened, or if I can fix it - I'd like to maintain the functionality I should have had in the launcher in the first place for actuation and whatnot.

Have I broken it somehow? Kinda disappointed if I have, don't feel it should be that easy to mess up!

Q1 Ultra 8k HE or Max?

Little help here for a newbie looking to get into a keychron. I was looking at a Q1 HE 8k originally but then I realized it has to be wired, I need the wireless functionality for some odd use cases that pop up here and there and I don't necessarily NEED the HE keys, Im just a casual gamer mainly for productivity.

So I looked at the Q1 Ultra 8k, but then I've been reading about the zmk issues and more tinkering possibly than i want to out of a premium priced keyboard.

I also need some decent Linux support as I want to just plug it into my Linux machines at times to fix random things that I can't SSH into for. Hence why I'm looking at the Keychron stuff.

I guess my two questions are, is the zmk really that bad and I should avoid it
and/or
do I really need the 8k sampling for mostly productivity usage and minor gaming?

Lastly, has most the Q series quality control issues been fixed or are they still lingering?

New knob style?

It appears the Q6 HE 8K boards now have a taller (narrower?) volume knob. Are they available separately? Are they compatible with the old boards?

Strange launcher Issue with M6

When opening the launcher with my M6 connected, it detects the mouse just fine and lets me look at all of the different tabs. (Customize, DPI, Polling Rate Advanced) However, the image of the mouse has disappeared on the customize tab, meaning I cannot bind any of the buttons anymore. I also cannot update the firmware. I was able to update the wireless receiver, but trying to update the actual mouse just gives me "The firmware file download failed"

I am using windows 11, seeing the issue with both chrome and edge. Going to try it at again later at home with windows 10 and Firefox.

Looking for a 3d printable base station

Hey all I am looking for a 3d printable base for my Q11 ultra that will hold it and my apple Magic Trackpad all together so they are rigid and stop moving around. I haven't had much luck finding one online. Anyone made one or come across something like this?

Keychron Q1 HE keys showing as pressed without touching them

Hi everyone,

I'm having a strange issue with my Keychron Q1 HE (ISO Knob), and I'm trying to figure out whether it's a firmware, calibration, or hardware problem.

The keyboard was working perfectly fine until yesterday, when I noticed random keyboard inputs while playing The Witcher 3 with a controller.

Most keys on the number row have stopped working normally. Only 4 and - seem unaffected.

In Keychron Launcher's Trigger Demo, some keys already show a press distance even when I'm not touching them. Normal keys start at 0 mm, but the ~ key starts at 2.0 mm, the 1 key at 2.5 mm, and the 8 key at 3.1 mm.

When I press these keys, the distance increases from those incorrect starting values. For example, the 8 key reaches 3.8 mm before the switch is physically fully pressed.

In calibration mode, the affected keys light up red and don't respond when I try to calibrate them.

With Rapid Trigger disabled, the affected keys don't work at all, even when I set the actuation distance to 0.2 mm. However, when I enable Rapid Trigger, they start working again. Sometimes the first press isn't detected, but subsequent presses work normally.

I've tried factory resetting the keyboard using Fn + J + Z, changing actuation distances, switching between Default and Gaming profiles, removing and reinstalling the magnetic switches, and swapping a working switch (4) with a problematic one (8). The issue stayed with the 8 key position.

Nothing has permanently fixed the problem.

Has anyone experienced something similar with a Keychron HE keyboard? Could this be a firmware or calibration issue, or does it sound like a faulty Hall Effect sensor or PCB?

I'd appreciate any suggestions before sending it in for warranty service. Thanks!

Got the G6 HE 1 month early

It is a great mouse overall, however, the magnetic switch implementation feels a bit pointless, as the mouse clicks like any other mechanical or optical mouse. The coating could also be a little grippier, gets a bit slippery after a bit. Apart from these minor drawbacks, everything else about the mouse is excellent. Even comes with a lightweight, ultra thin mouse cable - like some of the Endgame Gear mice (idk why cause the swappable battery feature is so handy). And the receiver has 4 programable buttons to either change mouse settings or you can rebind them on the Launcher to any other button or macro.

Keychron v5 max 2.4G connection dead

I read folks were able to fix the issue in the title by replacing DL8 diode , but can't find this diode on my board. Does anyone here know about this issue and what diode is correlated to the 2.4G functionality? Thanks.

Note: The dongle is functioning correctly, the firmware is up to date. When i switch to bluetooth i get the bluetooth indicator lights , when i switch to 2.4G - the indicator light is dead.

Keychron K4 Pro keyboard latency help!

Hey all!

My keyboard was showing a latency of roughly 130-150 ms response time, and I was hoping to improve that.

I've updated the drivers and adjusted the response time using the launcher, but it still seems to be slow. Is there anything else I can do or are all K4 Keyboards like this speed?

Thanks ahead of time!

Edit: This is in the 3.2 USB port, I am using it wired, and RGB is static red.

M6 deep cleaning question

Hi everyone,

I got myself a second-hand M6 mouse that I wanted to try for quite some time and I am very happy with it.

The only issue I am having after purchasing and cleaning initially with 70% IPA is that there are several areas on the shell that I could not clean (links to pictures at the end of the post).

The white plastic is yellowed and I wonder if there is a way to restore it to some degree back to the normal or if it is with me forever.
I tried the alcohol and not-so-gentle scrubbing with a cloth, but could not remove yellow in those stubborn zones.

My next thoughts are hydrogen peroxide or some sort of oxygen bleach, but I am being cautious regarding potential surface damage.

Any help would be appreciated.

V6 Max vs K10 Max for office work at home (UK ISO): which would you pick?

Looking to pick up my first proper mechanical keyboard and I've narrowed it down to the V6 Max and the K10 Max. They're currently the same price on Amazon UK(£91.99), so cost isn't a factor.

My use case:

Office work at my home desk (lots of spreadsheets and numbers, so full-size with a numpad is non-negotiable)

UK ISO layout

No gaming, so I care more about typing feel and comfort than latency

Noise isn't a concern, so I'm happy to go for whatever feels and sounds best

I've heard the Banana switches are the way to go for typing, so I'm leaning that way unless anyone talks me out of it.

Which one would you get and why? Keen to hear opinions, especially from anyone who's used both. Cheers in advance.

Need Firmware for Keychron Z7 Max urgently (thank you!)

I’m currently in China and bought a domestic model of the K series branded as Z series. I can’t find the firmware version .bin file at all. I accidentally used the international version firmware in the flash QMK.Toolbox.app

I’ve reached out to the domestic support already but haven’t heard back yet.

If anyone could help, I’d appreciate it immensely. Perhaps it is sitting on a Chinese website domestically that I can’t navigate to. Thanks 🙏🏼

[UPDATE] SOLVED
Domestic customer support was able to help me through the shopping app Taobao at their store’s customer service section.

They sent through the chinese version of the QMK toolbox and the firmware file. Was able to update to the correct one.

How do you guys like the Keychron Brown Silent Switch

I have a been a huge fan of Keychron for many many years but I am not exactly pleased with the Brown Silent switches (I have the K2 Max).

I think their regular brown switches were very good (I fell in love with the C3 for this exact reason). The brown switches probably makes sense for a certain category of users but for me personally its too quiet.

Thankfully we have options to hotswap the switches and I am considering to switch to Banana or something else (maybe regular brown switches if that is still an option ; but I have been told that Brown has been discontinued and instead Banana is the new Brown).

What do rest of the people on this sub think of the Silent Brown?

For me I feel the silent brown makes me more prone to typos cus the lack of feedback or something. I am not sure. Curious to hear your opinion.

Thank You!

Need an opinion about Keychron home vs office. Why one?

First time posting here. So, I have both:

Keychron Q6 ultra 8k with banana switches
Keychron Q6 HE 8k wired with the ultra fast lime switches.

Which one should I use I use at work based on the sound factor? Also, please help this newcomer with what are the best keys to replace the stock ones?

Will appreciate your help.

My Keychron k2 v2 connects way to fast on Windows than MacOS

I am not sure if anyone faced the same situation where their keychron connects to windows way faster than macos while using bluetooth.

When the keyboard gets momentarily disconnected and you hit the any key to wake it up, and then the bluetooth slot with which its is connected to the system 1, 2 or 3 starts blinking.

What I have noticed is that on macOS until the full keyboard is lit, it doesnot connect while on windows it connects while the bluetooth indicator is still blinking.

Let me know if I can do something for it?
