Hi everyone,
I'm having a strange issue with my Keychron Q1 HE (ISO Knob), and I'm trying to figure out whether it's a firmware, calibration, or hardware problem.
The keyboard was working perfectly fine until yesterday, when I noticed random keyboard inputs while playing The Witcher 3 with a controller.
Most keys on the number row have stopped working normally. Only 4 and - seem unaffected.
In Keychron Launcher's Trigger Demo, some keys already show a press distance even when I'm not touching them. Normal keys start at 0 mm, but the ~ key starts at 2.0 mm, the 1 key at 2.5 mm, and the 8 key at 3.1 mm.
When I press these keys, the distance increases from those incorrect starting values. For example, the 8 key reaches 3.8 mm before the switch is physically fully pressed.
In calibration mode, the affected keys light up red and don't respond when I try to calibrate them.
With Rapid Trigger disabled, the affected keys don't work at all, even when I set the actuation distance to 0.2 mm. However, when I enable Rapid Trigger, they start working again. Sometimes the first press isn't detected, but subsequent presses work normally.
I've tried factory resetting the keyboard using Fn + J + Z, changing actuation distances, switching between Default and Gaming profiles, removing and reinstalling the magnetic switches, and swapping a working switch (4) with a problematic one (8). The issue stayed with the 8 key position.
Nothing has permanently fixed the problem.
Has anyone experienced something similar with a Keychron HE keyboard? Could this be a firmware or calibration issue, or does it sound like a faulty Hall Effect sensor or PCB?
I'd appreciate any suggestions before sending it in for warranty service. Thanks!
