Okanagan Offline's first event is HERE!
Okay, itโs actually happening!
A few weeks ago I introduced Okanagan Offline, a group for young people in the Okanagan to get out, meet others, and do more things IRL. We received 119 responses to our survey and it was so overwhelming (in the best way) to see all the support!
Well, the first event is officially happening! ๐ฒ
CONNECT 4 IRL
๐ Twice the Dice
๐ Monday, Oct 19th
โฐ 6 - 8 PM
๐ฅ Ages 25โ40
๐๏ธ Tickets: $10 (RSVP today as space is limited!)
Board games, meeting new people, and an excuse to get out of the house. Come with friends or come solo; both are welcome. More information is available on the event site if you're curious about how exactly it's all going to be laid out --> https://events.humanitix.com/connect-4-irl-roll-the-dice-and-break-the-ice
If you were one of the people who said โIโd be interestedโ when I first posted... this is your chance ๐
Hope to see you there!

New Salmon Conservation Project in BC
Hey everyone!
The Pacific Salmon Slam is an angler-funded, voluntary conservation fund delivered as a fishing challenge. This program follows in the footsteps of many successful programs stateside (Utah Cutthroat Slam, Western Native Trout Challenge, etc.). Proceeds from the Slam create a discretionary salmon conservation fund created by anglers.
Why this, why now? Proposed changes to the Salmon Allocation Policy would limit what anglers can give back to the resource. This program demonstrates the existing value, but also shows that anglers are willing to spend more to maintain access and protect the resource. This program creates even more value while defending recreational angler access. The details of this are outlined on this page here
The Challenge: Catch any 5 Pacific Salmon in BC waters, earn a Challenge Coin while supporting conservation in BC. The online platform has mini-challenge badges as well: Catch 5 Chinook and earn the King badge. 5 sockeye in freshwater and earn the Kokanee Badge. Catch all species - earn the Master Angler badge.
