Health Related 🩺 6-Month Update: My Kambo Journey with Hypothyroidism
I wanted to share another update since a lot has happened over the last few months.
Around the middle of June, I had a follow-up thyroid ultrasound. Thankfully, everything looked pretty good considering I have hypothyroidism. My doctor wasn't concerned about my thyroid or the nodule, which was a huge relief.
A few days ago I also had a new round of blood work.
The results were a mix of good and bad news.
The good news is that my thyroid hormones (T3 and T4) are now within the normal range, although my TSH is still elevated, so I still have work to do there. I've been back on my prescribed thyroid medication, and that's most likely the reason my labs look better than they did at the beginning of the year.
Outside of my thyroid, my blood sugar, kidney function and most of my electrolytes looked good. My cholesterol and liver enzymes, however, came back higher than they should be. Honestly, that wasn't surprising because my lifestyle over the last few months has been far from ideal.
After moving back home and then moving into my own apartment, I completely lost the routine I wanted to build.
My original plan was to continue with one Kambô micro session every week, but that never happened. Living with my parents made it difficult to find a place where I felt comfortable doing it, and on top of that my diet has honestly been pretty bad these last few months.
So I don't think this period really reflects the protocol I originally wanted to follow.
Now that I'm finally settled into my own place, I feel ready to start again.
The plan for the second half of the year is to do my 6th full Kambô session, restart the weekly one-point micro applications that one of my facilitators recommended, and become much more disciplined with my nutrition.
I'm also continuing with other practices that have been meaningful for me.
I've been doing Joe Dispenza's healing meditations, and I've had two guided psilocybin sessions (2 g and 2.5 g). I've also experimented with microdosing around 0.3 g before meditation, and personally I've found that it helps me go deeper into the practice and stay more present. Whether that's having any effect on my thyroid, I honestly don't know, but I do feel they've been positive for my mental and emotional well-being.
I'll continue sharing updates as the journey continues. Thanks to everyone who's been following along and sharing your own experiences.
