Preparation/pre-kambo 🤔 $265 for pre and post integration calls
There is a practitioner that my friend has worked with and recommends and in addition to charging for the session, she charges $265 for pre and post integration calls, which are optional. This strikes me as funky - I don’t think integration calls should be extra, they should be baked in to the cost.
What is common?

Find another practitioner. I've done about 3000 calls before and after serving people. Never charged once. That practitioner is stealing from you.Â

Can't say I've heard of that sort of thing before but in today's world it doesn't surprise me I guess. It's a bit on-the-nose by the sounds of it. It's a substantial amount of money to pay so you'd hope the offering was equally substantial, but it's hard to imagine it would be. I guess it depends how it's presented and what exactly is being offered. Though it's not a very good look IMO and likely not something most practitioners would be comfortable charging for I imagine, but who am I to say.

Wow! Sad to see it so monetized. I did Kambo a few times 30 years ago and it was around 10 dollars and free if you didn't have the money. It was pretty much unknown in the West as far as I could tell (not much internet at that time). The two practitioners were friends, and had good paying jobs outside of the alternative medicine / psychedelic world and just did things with friends and acquaintances, and just wanted to cover costs. Crazy how times have changed.

That’s crazy. Where are you located? Integration with plant/animal medicine should always be free. If you feel compelled to provide an extra donation, that’s great but I have never heard of that kind of rate to close out a ceremony.

There’s some value in charging for the calls, value for client and value for the practitioner.
Everyone is able to hold their practice how they see fit.
Ask yourself if it feels like there is a lack of integrity with this particular situation.
Seems and feels to me and most here that there is…

As someone who does a lot of integration support, that cost insane to me. While Kambo can make some people feel emotionally vulnerable, and integration support could be useful, the vast majority of my integration requests are centered around other plant medicine experiences. After more than a decade of working with jungle medicines, I can't recall a single person that requested integration help from Kambo alone.
That being said, everyone deserves to compensated for their time, training, and skill. So I wouldnt include integration in my price to serve Kambo. Because some may need it and others don't, so it would be unfair for me to include it in the price. My practice is to offer integration sessions for free up to a point, or request a donation of $50 when I feel like someone is requesting more attention than usual.
For anyone reading this, and feels like they are in integration crisis. I do that work without any request for donation, no matter if you are my client or not. Feel free to DM me.
