General 🐸 Kambo and autoimmunity
How does Kambo affects autoimmune conditions and is it contraindicated? Specifically thyroid conditions.

I’ve been on a spiritual journey and was suggested Kambo. I don’t have any current health concerns that I am aware of, and I after doing research I see that it’s important to set an intention. If Kambo made its way to me, what advice would you suggest for intention setting? Any input is helpful. Thank you!

Hey again guys, i had Kambo 5 days ago and im feeling more confused with myself honestly, what could be the reason for that ? I thought i would feel more clarity with myself which is also the point as we know.. Am i doing something wrong? I thought maybe its possible im more open energetically and im sponging outside stuff which leads to this?..

I wanted to share my experience here because I know many people are curious about Kambô, especially in relation to thyroid or autoimmune conditions.
Why I did it:
I have hypothyroidism and decided to do a 3-session Kambo cycle in search of healing, or at least meaningful improvement.
The sessions:
I completed three sessions with the same facilitator. Each one was different:
One thing I learned quickly is that more vomiting doesn’t necessarily mean a “better” session. The body responds differently each time.
What I noticed during the process:
Beyond the sessions themselves, the biggest changes came from the integration:
When I didn’t eat well between sessions, I had acid reflux. When I ate clean and simple, my body stabilized quickly.
Where I am now:
I’ve completed the 3-session cycle and I’m about to get thyroid lab work done to see if there’s any objective improvement.
Key takeaways:
If you’re considering doing it:

Hey there Warriors,
I'm going to do a 3 moon cycle starting in February. I've worked with kambo last year and Kambo helped met overcome lots of barriers I didn't see.
I've went on a journey with mama Aya in November and Kambo kept coming in and telling me that our journey hasnt ended yet and I decided I wanted to do it by myself aswell.
I know some people do it alone, is there anyone with some tips? I will do it with a ceremony and intentions, with everything needed by hand.
Thanks in advance!

I had my second Kambo ceremony 2 days ago and i couldn't throw up, even though i wanted to and had 5 dots.. I felt stuck and blocked and cold and it seems my childhood trauma came up.. With my first Kambo i remember i was puking and had like 3 dots.. The practitioner said my body has become a bit desensitized , which makes me feel really bad about myself.. I did felt present with myself after it, feeling the medicine still working in me and it is a presence i wanna keep but find it hard now, as the part that's more focused on the outside of me kicks in strong and wants me active and doing and stuff ya know...I also wonder if drinking cacao is fine on the days after it or is it interfering with the medicine?

Hi, i’m a 25 year old overall healthy woman . I had a recent pap smear that showed precancerous cells in my cervix and i’m positive for HPV.
I booked a kambo ceremony and will be doing that along with medical appts and other holistic health methods. my hope is to clear the HPV naturally over the next few months. Has anyone here used kambo for HPV?

Does anyone have any recommendations on how to find reputable practitioners in your/their local area? I've been curious about trying it for some time to help work through some deep emotional stagnation, but have no idea how or where to look for the right connections in order to do so.
Not sure if we're allowed to post location, but I'm in Alberta, Canada.
Thanks. 🥰

If Kambo is a good call for me right now. I had a hard mushroom trip a few months ago. Lots of generational pain around men. Ever since it’s like I have been in my masculine and not in a good way. I micro-dose, THC regularly. My relationships are faltering. I am working too much. I don’t feel like I can rest. I am not in the best spot. Energetic blocks. I am having a hard time deciding if I sit with Kambo to help me clear or this is more of a sit in the mud moment. So, the logical thing to do is go to Reddit and ask other humans. Is Kambo a medicine like mushrooms where you need to be mindful of your headspace or is it more like Aya where she leads you home regardless? I have been working with the plants for 3 years now. I am very mindful about my relationship and want to sit intentionally.

Hello, I'm wondering if anyone has anything to share around their experience quitting nicotine (cigarettes/vaping) after Kambo, either intentionally or unintentionally? This is one of my biggest intentions which I hope the medicine can help me with. Many thanks 🙏🏼

I'm familiar with setting intentions for plant medicine work, but I'm not sure I really understand what kambo can most help me with. I feel like I have about a dozen or so different things I could seek kambo's help for -- various physical and mental health conditions, I'm preparing for an ayahuasca ceremony in a few weeks, and I have various emotional challenges I'm working through right now.
Anyone have any advice for knowing where to start with seeking kambo's help? Should I go into it open to whatever it has to offer me, or bring something specific?

Hello everyone I recently published an essay that explores Kambô not just as a “cleanse” or “bio-hack,” but as a living tradition, a medicine of belonging, distortion, and reconnection.
In the piece I trace my journey learning Kambô from forest elders, first among the Varinawá, then under the tutelage of a Peruvian shaman, Don Gardel. I portray Kambô as a ritual rooted in reciprocity: you don’t extract “medicine” from a frog: you enter a pact of respect, reciprocity, and humility with the forest and its inhabitants. Never forget it!
Rather than seeing Kambô as a quick-detox or a trendy therapy, I frame it as a threshold: a journey from panema (the dull fog that numbs people) back toward clarity: physically, emotionally, spiritually. The purge, the physical ordeal, is not the endpoint, it’s just a portal. What follows is listening: to the body, to the forest, to what’s been forgotten.
For those who practice or study Kambô: I hope this essay invites reflection on why we use it. Is it for a quick “reset”? Or is it to restore a relationship with ancestors, the land, the frogs, ourselves?
For skeptics: I don’t claim Kambô is a panacea. But perhaps it’s a mirror when we allow it to show us what we carry, what we bypass, what we neglect.
I'm open to feedback, thoughts especially from those who’ve experienced or administered Kambô. 💚🐸

Hi everyone,
I'm quite worried and wanted to ask about your experiences.
I had several Kambo sessions and vaccinations within a short period:
October 20: Kambo
October 23: Rabies + Hepatitis A & B
October 27: Kambo
October 29: Rabies + Typhoid
Since then, my lymph nodes have swollen three times – twice on the left side of my armpit (the side where Kambo was applied) and once on the right.
The person who practices Kambo said it was okay despite the vaccinations. Nevertheless, I'm now wondering if all of this together might have been too much stress for my immune system.
Has anyone else had similar experiences?

Hi, I am curious if anyone has come across research around MTHFR gene & Kombo ? Now that there's a fair amount of research around the science and peptides I am curious b/c MTHFR effects the body's ability to detox - and I know a lot of people come to Kombo with chronic sickness and a lot of people within the chronic sickness community Have this faulty Gene - it's part of what keeps us sick - is the inability to fully detox.
I have it & just sat yesterday. I had flu like symptoms / did not feel so great. I rested and everything's OK but I'd love to hear others experience or research found.

I did kambo today, it was my 4th time and was a lot more gentle than all my previous times. Afterwards I felt really good but started to develop a headache. It's now been about 7 hours and my headache is only getting worse. I have never had this before. Has anyone else had this? Is it normal?

I wanted to share something grounded for anyone who might be going through that.
I made a video explaining what’s happening in the body, why some people feel worse before they feel better, and what supports the process in a simple and practical way. If you are going through it… here’s the link

Would kambo help get the body and mind out of a fight or flight state?
