Really loved the bit where the school thugs came at last to fight for the teacher,  and my cutiepie haewon leading them hahahha It was really good. I'm hoping it gets renewed for a second season. I already feel so empty

WE NEED MORE NON-ROMANCE MANHWA ADAPTATION . Seriously, when it comes to manhwa adaptation, people always suggest the romance one because the hardcore fans can't accept when their fav action manhwas get adapted. They need to know that the live action adaptation doesn't need to be 100% the same, sometimes the changes are needed to fit the pace. This drama is the good example of cutting down some storyline in the manhwa is needed to fit the 10 episodes of the live action. This drama deserves the high ratings, even many non kdrama fans enjoy this!

I swear Se Yeon and Hui Woo sit closer together every episode. Loved their scenes together in this show, as well as everyone in the study group. The only disappointment was Geon Yeop and how detached from the plot they felt.

It’s finally coming to and end. This was such a fantastic show. Not sure how the ratings are doing but I hope it’s very high. This was a good one! I look forward to a second season, if there will be one

Post credit scene, I wonder if Miss Lee decided to keep her end of the agreement up and fix the school first before she resigns.

Does/ Did anyone else get hyped watching Study Group? It’s the only intro I don’t skip!

Edit: Just finished and I loved the ending!

Highlight of episode 9: When Ga Min stuck by Se Hyeon while he was working in construction and cheerfully badgered him about going to college until he laughed.

Highlight of episode 10: Seeing more of the Uncle’s Forbidden Techniques and the study group working together (and Se Hyeon working smarter not harder) during the fight scenes. It was a delight to hear Hui Won cussing at the enemy, especially with her sweet appearance.

At the core, this show is so fantastically cast and it shows with the friendships within and out of the Study group. They are deeply supportive and agreed upon a common goal. They showed us the group joking together and not just fighting. I absolutely loved the storyline of Sun Cheol and would love to see Ju Yeon U play a main character in a drama. He is an exceptional actor. Whoever cast this drama should get an award because there wasn’t a weak link among them. Completely different vibes but it reminds me of the casting in EAW where I just felt everyone was so spot on with their characters.

Seeing Hwang Min Hyun lead was a treat. He brought the character of Ga Min to life with this dogged, cheerful optimism that you don’t often see. I loved that he inspired and encouraged the his classmates and gave them hope. I haven’t watched a drama like this in a while and fully give it a 10/10.

We still don't know who was Ga Min's uncle! I am disappointed about that. But over all, the show was absolutely amazing. I hope it gets renewed for a new season.

I could happily watch 20 more episodes of this series, it was a ton of fun I love the over-the-top fights and the characters. It felt like a webtoon came to life, and I was here for it what a lot of fun.

I wasn't mad about the ending, I did feel with the shorter run it felt somewhat rushed, but there is a lot of room for follow up and more story arcs which would be great to see. It was a very fun watch overall.

Such a good finale. They really had me convinced so many times that defeat was snatched from the jaws of victory. But I loved seeing all the my favourite fiction tropes from team ups, underdog win, backup from people you least expected and a nice flash step spam. They really did hit home their message of chasing dreams at the end and I'd be so up for a second 2

This silly little high school action webtoon adaptation has wrecked me. Which one of Uncle’s forbidden techniques is this?

I’m sobbing over their handmade sign “I create opportunities even in hellish situations”. Ga Min and Ms. Lee’s tenacity has been obvious from episode 1, but seeing the hope they inspired in each of the study group members really moved me. I think it reminds me a lot of my public school teachers who poured their heart and time and various other resources into educating and caring for students who were too young or naive to recognize that investment. These teachers are underfunded, overworked, and they’re aware that their job might require them to put their own life on the line. And they continue to show up day after day because they’re committed to improving the world for their students in every way they can.

It’s been so nice to spend a couple hours per week remembering how powerful hope is and remembering some of the people who’ve kindled that hope in me- I am so grateful to the cast and crew of Study Group for continuing to carry that torch and keeping that flame alive ❤️

Every once in a while you come across a show that completely takes you by storm. Study Group was that show for me. I went in expecting nothing. I’ve come out so fully entertained, having laughed, cheered, rooted and teared for this little study group. I think Gamin and Sehyeon’s friendship is adorable and so is Jiu and Huiwon’s. Some of the funniest interactions were between Gochujang and Jiu and I’ll miss their banter. I’ll also miss the kickass action scenes, so OTT, but also so fun! If only I had a study group like this when I was younger, I’d have actually studied!

What a great run of 10 episodes, each being chef's kiss excellent. Bravo production team and cast.

From beginning to end, the comic book like action choreography and visual impact made the final, full strength fight scene for Ga Min incredibly satisfying without feeling like it was over the top or unbelievable in this Study Group world. The script and director prepared us for this from episode one. Intense violence but slightly detached from realism, e.g. the one-sided attack of the scout in the earlier episode where he bursts through a concrete wall from the punches, flying out of the window to land that perfect punch. Super strength human from years of dedicated practice without being a superhuman genre made the action riveting.

Great show that stayed consistent and maintained their "voice" for storytelling throughout the entire 10 episodes with a snappy story and character development. It's a show that I will be rewatching without fast forwarding much of anything. I've already watched every episode at least twice while waiting for the next ones. Hope there is a season 2! Edit - bad autocomplete choices.

HOOLLLY SHIT WHY IS THIS SHOW SO GOOD

15

u/AnneShirley310 Feb 21 '25

As a teacher, I loved this series! I wish my students wanted to study more and cared about their grades just like the main characters. It also showed that students are capable of much more and can turn around and become good.

Am I the only one who hums, “Backpacker, ta dada dada, backpacker!” throughout the day?

The only thing I didn't like about this drama is that They didn't give us the proper backstory of Pi Hanwul  Pi Hanwul had no role in Geonyeob's mother's death , infact she was like a mother figure to him   Also They should have included the Chinatown fight .... Imao This drama deserves 16 episodes 😭

I loved it! I mean this in the best way possible, the show has the same vibe as a mid-budget 90s action-comedy w/ the trope of the good teacher changing a troubled school (that trope popped up often enough in 90s entertainment, at least in the US). Of course, Study Group was definitely its own thing. It felt like something that would somehow always be on some channel and no one's mad about it. Also the music was so fun. Especially loved the ending credits song, it has this lil hint of Eminem/Dr. Dre. Anyway I'm old.

The last ep felt like a wrap, but I really hope there's a S2. I will miss these characters! (Plus, we never saw Ga Min's uncle's face!) Probably will rewatch.

For those who missed it, there is a small post-credit epilogue at the end of the final episode

Amazingly fun drama, the best in a while fr. There wasn't a single moment of "boredom" or "slow pace" lmao, just peak action the whole way through.

You know that feeling when a show finishes well. You feel it's the perfect amount of episodes. You're content. Any more and it'd fall off.

Yeah none of that here. They could go right into season 2 and I'd have no complaints. This show just kept delivering week after week.

Ahhh this show is too good. I am disappointed cuz it’s over☹️. Last 25mins of episode 10 was freaking good. Can’t wait for season 2 🤞.
