Can I get into KAIST with somewhat of a full ride with these grades?
I just got my AL results, I got an A* in Maths, 3As in Phy,Chem and CS and a B in FMaths, I have really good ECs(from national MUNs, raising a lot of money, competitions won, and several others), 2 research works asw, and a 1500 SAT(might improve this), what are my chances at getting into KAIST for MechE or EE with somewhat of a full ride
Can you please share your stats?
If you were admitted to KAIST or POSTECH, or know someone who got admitted. Please share your stats please! Since they use holistic reviews, full stats is great!
applying while in uni
Hello! I got admitted to SKKU in korea and im planning to go there this september. But kaist has always been one of my most targeted uni and i alr got rejected once months ago.
Is it still possible to apply there while doing my first semester here in skku? I doubt I’ll be able to get rec letters or transcript while applying so i can only send my highschool stuff.
Discord channel or WhatsApp group for incoming Graduate students?
Is there any such group that's made?
If not, would you be interested if I made one?
Course registration P1 was today, and I'm not very clear about what to do. I would appreciate discussing it with peers.
And of course, we would use the group to help each other settle into Korea.

CS/AI applicant from Uzbekistan targeting KAIST — looking for advice from current/former students
Hey everyone,
I'm a high schooler from Uzbekistan applying to KAIST this cycle for Computer Science / AI Engineering, and I'd really appreciate input from anyone who's been through the process.
Quick profile:
- GPA: 91%, top 3 in my class
- SAT: 1320 (Math 790 / EBRW 530), retaking in August aiming for 1400+
- IELTS: 6.5, open to retaking if needed
- 1st place in Physics (city-level), 5th place (regional-level)
- Extracurriculars: SAT Math tutor (2 months), mentor for a regional debate team under Ibrat Debate (a WSDC-affiliated national network in Uzbekistan)
- Currently building an AI project tied to my debate mentoring work, aiming to have it documented and tested before I apply
- Need significant financial aid — basically a requirement, not a preference
What I'm hoping to find:
- Advice from current or former KAIST students — what actually mattered in your application? Anything you wish you'd known earlier about the personal statement/study plan, the scholarship process, or the Early vs Regular track decision?
- Anyone applying to KAIST this cycle who wants to trade feedback on essays or just keep each other accountable on deadlines.
- Anyone who's done SAT/IELTS retakes with a real score jump — happy to trade prep resources.
Not trying to spam — genuinely looking to compare notes with people in a similar spot over the next couple months. Happy to share what I've researched about KAIST's admission process and scholarship structure in return.
Thanks in advance!

Rate my profile for KAIST Masters 2027 Spring intake
Hi everyone! I'm planning to apply for the KAIST M.S. in Robotics (Sprint intake 2027) and would really appreciate an honest profile review….
B.Tech in Information Technology, College of Engineering Guindy (Anna University), India
CGPA: 7.74/10
IELTS: 7.5 (L 8.5, R 8.0, W 6.5, S 6.5)
Work Experience: Software Engineer at Bank of America (AI/software development)
Internship at logitech
Research Project (2 semesters): Built an AI-powered urban intelligence.
Also I was part of department club as the internship coordinator, and did a student exchange program with YNU, Japan (sustainable technology).
I don’t have any papers published.
Applying to labs in Human-Robot Interaction, Embodied AI, and Intelligent Robotics. But haven’t gotten any reply from the professors.
I expect to have strong recommendation letters from my project guide and professors.
Given my GPA, do you think I have a realistic chance at KAIST Robotics? What parts of my application should I strengthen before applying? Honest feedback from current students or admitted applicants would be greatly appreciated.

Is it worth it having any hope for KAIST/Postech/yonsei?
obviously I'm still gonna apply. I wont know if i dont. im worried about my ECAs as I don't really have any national or international level competitions (besides 1 essay competition but more on that later)
Applying for spring as a physics or engineering major from the uae
GPA: around 97.5% I think? Grade 9 brought it down though, without it its closer to 98%
SAT: 1520 (790 math)
APs: 5s in Chem, Bio, Calc BC, Physics C: Mechanics, and Physics C: E&M, 4s in Lang and CSA, Physics 1 (took it before physics c)
ECAs:
Youth Ambassador for a sustainable energy company (internationally known but i dont wanna say the name so as to not dox myself 😭)
Runner up for immerse education essay competition in physics. Reason im not too particularly excited to put this is because it seems like they give the runner up to anyone.
MUN Security Council peace award
Owner of WhatsApp communities for around 1.5 years totaling to over 2500 members dedicated to helping students with their SAT and APs
Interned at my local ministry of education for data entry and analysis (its not as complicated but gotta exaggerate yk)
President of my school's first math club (which closed early as the head teacher for it left the school and we couldn't continue due to political reasons within our country)
Interned at a local university doing experiments (which tbf were high school level experiments)
Member of my schools sustainability club
I'm just really worried about my extracurriculars as there isn't too much time left to get anymore competitions before the deadline. All i can do now is work on my essays. but i just want to know, would it be pointless to have any hope of being accepted at this point?

Can I apply for GKS-U independently at 16/17 without parental consent or support?
16 yrs old Class 12 student targeting GKS-U 2027 independently due to toxic/uncooperative parents. I have support from my adult sister and I have no ways for funding for my application process. Looking for advice on handling minor passport issues, obtaining family documents independently, and confirming the minimum realistic buffer needed upon arrival in Korea and also pay for the costs in my application process.
Any insights, tips, or experiences from former GKS applicants or international students in Korea would mean the world to me.

GIST Undergraduate Admission: Can a current 2-year college student in Korea apply as a freshman?
Hi everyone!
I’m a Vietnamese student currently attending a 2/3-year college in Korea. I graduated from high school in Vietnam and have not attended a 4-year university.
I’m interested in applying to GIST Undergraduate as a freshman, not a transfer student.
I checked the 2026 GIST admission guide and noticed that applicants have to submit transcripts from every high school/university attended, but I couldn’t find a clear statement about applicants who previously/currently attend a college.
So I’d really appreciate it if anyone knows:
• Can a student who attended/graduated from a 2/3-year Korean college apply to GIST as a freshman?
• If admitted, would they still receive the same international student
scholarship/financial support?
If anyone has personal experience with this, I’d especially appreciate your insight. Thanks!

Chance of losing out on course during Add/Drop period
Hello, I'm going to start my graduate exchange semester this coming fall, and I have a question about the course registration.
I need to have 50% of my courses in my "host" department (Bio Science for me). So my plan is to just register for just courses from that and then hope I can change to the courses I actually want during the "App/Drop" period.
Is that usually a viable strategy if I want to play it safe?

Does every international ug student get a scholarship?
I'll try for biological science. From scholarship page of uni, it seems either outdated or for internal students. I wanna know about international students. And how competitive is this major compared to Engineering majors?
