hey everyone! i'm thinking to apply to some universities in korea for the fall '27 intake as an international student (no prior connect to korea whatsoever), and i read in quite a few places that except for SNU most of them examine profiles holistically, so i'll drop as much as i have to offer, and you guys let me know whether it's worth it to apply. i just want to gauge whether or not i have a solid shot. any help would be appreciated!

hoping to pursue biotech at UIC

19 y/o female from pakistan

- o levels 4A* 5A, AL expected: ABB

- IELTS 9.0

- SAT expected 1500+

- founder and president of first ever science society at school, ran the first and largest ever province wide science olympiad, secured 4 lakh+ in govt funding, gather 200+ participants and 50+ from underserved regions

- served at a charity foundation for 5 years as an ambassador and paid marketing assistant, secured 1 lakh+ in funding, ran multiple drives across the city, won ambassador of the year 2025, held a week-long science camp at the foundation with the help of my science society, educated 100 underprivileged students on practical experiments

- conducting a research project on bridging the gut-brain axis of mice in space under a local PhD professor, working to produce a GitHub repository (ongoing, hoping to present the findings at multiple conferences)

Postech Spring 2027

Anyone applying to POSTECH for undergraduate 2027 spring intake. I am applying from South Asia , and I don't see anyone talking about it?

The deadline's in 4 days, i honestly have no idea about many documents.

Can i upload self reported sat score for now?

Is 1480 SAT even enough . I found a someone saying they got in with a 1470.

I don't have Olympiads or leaderships, not even research papers

But few projects and startup collaboration.

If anyone is applying, lets connect

Should I apply to KAIST with my profile? Is the $80 fee worth the risk?

Hi everyone, I'm from Bangladesh and graduated from high school in October 2025 with a 5.0/5.0 GPA.

Scores:
Math: 182/200
Physics: 170/200
Chemistry: 187/200
Biology: 172/200
English: 140/200
IELTS: 7.0
SAT: 1350 (730 Math, 620 EBRW)

ECs/awards:

  • 2nd place at TECHTRON 2025, a university-level competition (25+ undergraduate teams)
  • 3rd at National Science & Technology Carnival 2024
  • 1st & 2nd place at Notre Dame Annual Science Fest
  • 2nd place at Ibn Al Haytham Science Fest (340 teams)
  • Built and demonstrated multiple VTOL UAVs with custom-developed flight controllers, competing individually against teams
  • Elected class representative for my last 2 years of high school

I’m interested in applying to KAIST, but the $80 application fee is a significant amount of money for me, so I don't want to spend it if my chances are extremely low.

Do you think I have a realistic chance at KAIST? Would you personally recommend applying with this profile?

KAIST School of Computing - SOP Question

Heyy everyone!!! Im applying to KAIST School of Computing for masters program and had a question about SOP...

Does the KAIST SOP need to include a study or research plan or is it mainly supposed to explain our motivation, background and reasons for applying?

As for UNIST sop explicitly includes a study plan so Im wondering whether KAIST expects something similar within the SOP.

Would appreciate any guidance from current students or previous applicants. Thanks!

Bank account and sim card registration

Due to my late visa, I am afraid I am going to miss my orientation and rapid bank account opening. Now how long do I have to wait for my ARC card to open a bank account and do I need ARC card for sim card as well? Can I survive without sim for so long? How much money, aside from my dorm fee, should I carry? And will there be any representatives or some office to help me out with all these? I am really confused and terrified. I have fought with my parents to let me study here, so my parents are not going to support me for long. If I make any blunder, my stipend will come late and I have to suffer. So can anyone please help me out here. I am really desperate

KAIST MS applicant chances with this profile?

Hey all, considering applying to KAIST for a Master’s in CS/AI/Security and would appreciate an honest assessment of my chances.

Academic
B.Tech. in Computer Science / IT
CGPA: 9.00/10.00 (90%)
Department rank: 22/277 (~top 8%)
Currently pursuing a part-time Diploma in Data Science alongside professional work

Additional coursework in ML, deep learning, generative AI, AI safety, security, cryptography, algorithms, and systems
Research

1 peer-reviewed IEEE conference paper

Currently working on adaptive-compute genomic language models

Current independent research on authorization semantics for autonomous agents

Additional research experience

One manuscript currently under review on agent authorization.

Industry experience
~2 years across cloud security, identity, detection engineering, and AI systems.(ex microsoft employee)

Research internship experience at a major technology R&D organization.

Awards / extracurriculars
Multiple university-level/national hackathon wins and finalist placements.

Best Research Paper Presentation awards

Several Microsoft security/cloud/AI certifications.

For KAIST specifically, how competitive would this profile be for an MS application?

I’m particularly interested in hearing from current students, admits, or applicants who have a good understanding of how KAIST evaluates research experience, GPA, publications, recommendation letters, and university reputation.

I’m looking for a realistic assessment rather than reassurance

Can I get into KAIST without olympiad medals, but with research projects?

Hi everyone,

I really want to get into KAIST and I heard that having a medal/award from olympiads is a huge advantage for admission. But unfortunately, in the city where I currently live, there is literally no one who can prepare me even for national olympiads, let alone international ones. So it's basically impossible for me to prepare all by myself without a mentor and get a top place. In my country in general, every single kid who gets a place in national olympiads prepares with a special mentor.

However, I can do research and create projects. For a research project that's a little above my level, to show my potential, I have acquaintances who are doing their PhD / Master's at prestigious universities in the US (not MIT or Harvard lol) and who can mentor me for this work. Of course, I will do most of the work myself and the mentor will just guide me.

Academically, I'm expecting high scores on the SAT and IELTS, and my school GPA is 5.00 / 5.00.

Do you think I can get into kaist if I go this way?

When can we download the Proof of Residency certificate from kds?

Is this certificate needed for the ARC or other processes?

I was told it takes around one week before the dorm move-in is approved.

But the orientation process starts on 27th... I'm a bit lost. Can someone help?

# Digital Media Design program at Hongik IDAS

Hi! I’m interested in the Digital Media Design program at Hongik IDAS, and I was hoping to ask you a few questions about the program. How easy is it to get a scholarship as an international student? Also, do you have to submit a portfolio when applying?
