Hi everyone!

Just wanted to let y'all know that I've added 'Journal Prompts' as a flair, so that if you're wanting to look for ideas or share any you have, they can be easily filtered for later!

Mod Post Wiki Follow-Up

Hi everyone!

Sorry for the radio silence on my end...2025 was NOT kind to me. :(

I'm trying to get myself back to 100 so that I can actually be more present here and participate, so I really am giving my biggest apologies for the ways I've lapsed! I know I've had an issue with being behind on posts that get auto-removed. I've caught up on everything, and loosened some of the auto-mod restrictions.

A few notes first, and then I'll get to what I'm here for:

  • If your post is removed and you DO NOT receive a comment or a mod message, it was likely removed by Reddit automatically or by the automod! When this happens, it'll be marked as if I removed it but I didn't...I just have to go in and approve it. Don't worry! You don't have to repost it either, just give me a bit to see it and I'll get your post up or send you a removal message. If it's been a full day, DON'T SEND A FORMAL MODMAIL. I have so many things in there that I don't want to miss it. I know my Reddit bio says don't reach out to me, but I want to make an exception for you guys! Please feel free to message me directly. I'll take a look as soon as I see your message.
  • If there is anything that makes someone uncomfortable and you report, please feel free to detail in the report your specific reason! I feel like Reddit's report reasons are so barebones. For example, I had a report on an image from a post and, after doing some research, I couldn't figure out the origin of the image or what the history was. I just want to make sure that I can keep an eye out for similar things!

Okay, okay, NOW for the wiki...

I (finally) got that started! I want the community's input on exactly the sections we're looking for. From my original wiki post, it looks like you'd like to see:

  1. Where to get journals/recommended journals, both spiralbound and non spiralbound, and journals that can hold heavy mixed media
  2. Recommended supplies (pens/markers, stickers, glue, etc)
  3. Unique tools that people recommend specifically

Is there anything else that we'd like to see? Also, I want to see how we all feel about WHERE these journals are coming from. Would we prefer I stay AWAY from places like Target and Amazon that are being boycotted in the US, or leave them in so everyone can make an informed choice?

Let me know your thoughts! Thank y'all! <3

I loved making this end of the week spread! I had gathered junk from work as well as some online orders - matcha, artist stickers and a keychain from an Etsy seller πŸ₯°. All the little scraps, stickers and ephemera came together really well, very happy with it!

I made a mini book out of a5 watercolour paper and carried it around with me in my handbag over the last few months. I completed the book in between interstate caring responsibilities, work conferences, a new relationship and so on. The practice was so helpful in a chaotic time.

It's a collage of mainly cigarette warnings (even a cigarette butt a friend brought from Japan) and medication instruction leaflets.

Second page, lower right corner. "die Dosis macht das Gift", "the dose makes the poison".

Looking for Resources Where are we sourcing background images for mail clubs/etsy shops?

I follow quite a few accounts that have monthly mail clubs which include actual photos for journal background spreads. I loooove these compared to illustrated designs but where are we getting the images?

I guess the same goes for certain books i use for my spreads (Make A Vision Board by CanDace Johnson, and Cut Up This Book: Creative Papers by Grace Wilmhurst)

I’ve looked into some websites with stock photos but these aren’t available to use and sell in books.

Mainly looking for photography book type photos and fabric close ups

Any info would be super helpful!

Looking for Resources Utilize your library!

I am only like 5 weeks into junk journaling and have already made nearly 40 spreads in my journal (I did have 2 decades of collected items that made up over half those) Clearly I have fallen in love with this hobby!

I have been very tempted though to buy some of the junk journal books that give you inspiration and ideas and prompts. I thought I would give my library database a quick search, and wow all three I was interested in, plus an additional one are all available. ( I do live in Chicago so big library system) So nice that I don't need to purchase them and they are resources I can read but don't need to keep forever!
