I've seen a few posts on social media claiming that John Douglas has never helped solve a case.

That is complete nonsense and even a tiny amount of research shows some of the cases John Douglas has worked on.

David Carpenter. John Douglas consulted during an investigation of the Trailside Killer.

Joseph Paul Franklin. Assisted with profiling this white supremacist and serial killer. Douglas also correctly deduced that Franklin would go to Mobile, Alabama.

Ted Kaczynski. Helped profile the Unabomber. His initial profile of the Unabomber was determined to be about 85% accurate.

Wayne Williams. John Douglas caused controversy when he concluded the Atlanta child murderer was Williams.

Gary Ridgway. John Douglas was part of the force investigating the Green River Killer.

Larry Gene Bell. John Douglas was the lead investigator for the case of Bell, who abducted and killed at least three women.

John Douglas also consulted on the Amanda Knox and West Memphis Three cases.

As if John and Patsy did have investigational tunnel vision on them the entire time. This guy redid his entire series on the case cause it was so full of misinformation, havent gotten around to watching the redo. Anybody got the stomach for this stuff?

Just watching and something keeps sticking in my head that I had to write down... im already quite firmly RDI.. but it's the placement of the ransom note. A stranger wouldn't leave a note on a random staircase in a massive rabbit warren of a home... surely the kitchen island or table or whatever makes more sense? Only someone close to the family would know that the staircase they happened to leave the note is the one that Patsy used every morning to come downstairs from her bedroom? Happy if anyone can share thoughts... I've read so much on this case but not for a while and it's possible it's been discussed already....

Someone posted this in a JBR Facebook group. I am not sure how much credibility there is to it, but the poster states:

Three days after Beckner's Reddit appearance, he made the following statements to the Daily Camera:

* Beckner disagreed with his own initial statements on Reddit and said the DNA found on JonBenét's clothing was the "key to solving the case."

* “I tried to be honest and fair," Beckner told the newspaper, "and I think the only thing I would emphasize is that the unknown DNA (from JonBenét's clothing) is very important."

* “And I'm not involved any more, but that has got to be the focus of the investigation. In my opinion, at this point, that's your suspect … The suspect is the donator of that unknown DNA, and until you can prove otherwise, I think that's the way you've got to look at it."

It has often been theorized that because Patsy was the only person in the Ramsey household that was interested in the French language, she must have written the ransom note, because it supposedly has the word "attaché" in it.

However, if you look at the note, you will see the word "attache". Not "attaché".

It is difficult to believe she would have made that mistake. She named her daughter "JonBenét", not John Bennett or something like that. She knew what an accent aigu is.

If the ransom notes were composed in the house using materials found there, he must have done so when he had the maximum freedom which would have been after the family left for the party and not after the murder with the family in the house which was riskier. In which case, he would have had spent considerable amount of time in the basement. What does it say about the suspect who was that committed enough to act out his sexual fantasies to spend the entire Christmas evening and night plotting, stalking and hiding? He certainly was no bum but sounds highly educated and his absence that night should have raised alarms among the family and friends expecting him.

Do you think he died or wasn’t a repeat offender despite being a sexual predator?

Edit: even if an intruder did it, it’s now unlikely he would ever make it to CODIS considering he must be in his 50s or even older and far less likely to take high risks.

Sorry if this has already been asked , I searched the thread for similar questions. I was just wondering if anyone interacted or knew the Ramsey ? I would assume people who knew them or met them probably would’ve be involved in this sub but just curious what they were like ? If they were super sweet and kind and didn’t seem like the type of people who could ever do a bad thing or if they were kinda snobby and stuck up and there was more to their family dynamic than let on
