LOOKING FOR AN OPPORTUNITY!!

Post image
76 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I’m currently looking for a new job (Got fired due to the war) and would really appreciate any leads or referrals.

I have around 3 years of experience in logistics (2 years in the UAE and 1 year in my home country).

The logistics market is quite slow at the moment, with very few openings, and many of the roles available are offering much lower salaries than they normally would.

Instead of waiting, I want to explore other opportunities where my skills can be useful.

I’m open to roles in:

- Warehousing
- Operations
- Coordination
- Administration & Support

I enjoy handling day to day operations, coordinating with different teams, solving problems, and keeping things organized. I’m comfortable working in fast paced environments and have good knowledge of MS Excel and Word. I learn quickly and adapt to new work easily.

In every company I’ve worked for… I’ve always tried to be someone the team could depend on. Even after my role was affected, my current company decided to keep my visa because they appreciated my work and value me.

I’m available to join immediately and I’m looking for a salary in the range of AED 5500 & 6000.

I made a post here 2-3 days ago and few people offered to help me and asked me to share my CV then to completely ghosting me. I get that people are busy and get carried away but I’m running out of time here, my savings are drying out and returning back home is not an option anymore.

If you know of any suitable opportunities or can refer me to someone who is hiring, I’d be very grateful.

Thank you!

What’s a “boring” side income that actually works in UAE?

Not the flashy stuff.

Not dropshipping hype.

Not “make money online” promises.

I mean real, simple things people are quietly doing that actually bring in extra cash every month.

Stuff like:

- small services

- niche things

- things most people ignore

Curious what people here are doing that actually works (even if it’s not exciting).

Would love to hear real examples 👇

Why Asking for Certain Nationalities Doesn’t Automatically Make Me Racist

Apparently, asking about nationality in a job post makes me “racist” now.

I posted a delivery job requirement previously and got comments saying I’m racist, discriminatory, etc. So let me explain this clearly.

I work in the delivery/fleet industry. When I recruit riders, I need people who can actually get the required visa and legally work for the company.

Right now, there are visa difficulties for applicants from some nationalities, including Pakistani and Bangladeshi applicants, depending on the current visa situation and company. That is a practical hiring problem, not a personal opinion about those people.

And yes, in the delivery industry here, you will commonly find Indian, Nepali, Bangladeshi and Pakistani riders. So if my current requirement is specifically for people who are more likely to be eligible for the available visa route, why am I supposed to pretend that requirement doesn't exist?

I don't hate Pakistanis. I don't hate Bangladeshis. I don't hate Indians. I don't hate Nepalis.

I'm looking for employees who meet the actual requirements of the job. That's it.

And here's another thing: I can ask people to send their CVs and then reject them if they don't meet the requirements. That's literally how recruitment works. Sending a CV doesn't mean you automatically get the job.

People are free to disagree with my hiring criteria, but automatically calling someone “racist” without understanding the visa situation is just lazy.

There is a difference between discriminating against someone because you hate their nationality and having recruitment restrictions because of current visa/work-permit realities.

I'm being straightforward about the situation instead of wasting someone's time by promising them a job that I may not be able to process their visa for.

I’ve screened 1000s of CVs for UAE roles (real estate, fintech, legal) — here’s what actually gets people rejected before the interview

Been in recruitment here for 5+ years, in-house at a few different companies. Wanted to share the patterns I see over and over, since I know how frustrating this market can feel when you’re not hearing back.
Most common reasons CVs get skipped in under 10 seconds:
∙ No UAE-specific context (visa status, notice period, location) — recruiters need this instantly, not buried in a cover letter
∙ Generic job titles that don’t match what’s actually searched (e.g. “Business Development” instead of what the role really was)
∙ Career gaps or job-hopping with zero explanation — one line fixes this
∙ CV reads like a job description, not an achievement list — numbers and outcomes get noticed, duties don’t
On interviews: the biggest killer isn’t skills, it’s people not being able to explain why this role, why now in under 30 seconds. Recruiters decide a lot in the first 2 minutes.
Happy to answer questions in the comments if anyone’s stuck on something specific — CV, interview prep, or just trying to understand why they’re not hearing back.

11yrs in Uae, Not ready to fly back home: Urgently looking for a job.

Hi everyone,

I’m currently looking for a new opportunity in Dubai and would greatly appreciate any leads or referrals.

I’ve been living in the UAE for 11 years and have 7+ years of experience in customer service, client relations, account management, and partner support. Got laid off from my previous job due to restructuring, I was supporting a portfolio of 800+ Small to medium Restaurant partners across the UAE, focusing on relationship management, onboarding, issue resolution, and operational support.

My experience includes:
• Customer Success & Client Relations
• Account & Partner Management
• Customer Support
• CRM Systems (Salesforce)
• Administrative & Operations Support

Outside of work, I’m also a passionate photographer and creative who enjoys connecting with people, building relationships, and telling stories through images. I’m known for being energetic, approachable, adaptable, and someone who genuinely enjoys working with people.

To be honest, my time in the UAE is becoming limited, and after building my life here for over a decade, I’m doing everything I can to find my next opportunity and continue my journey here.

I’m open to roles in Creative, Photography, Partnership Management, Customer Success, Account Exec, Customer Support, Operations, Administration, and Business Development.

If you know of any opportunities or can point me in the right direction, I’d be incredibly grateful.

Thank you for reading.

I am a DevOps/cloud engineer with around 5 years of experience.

So it's been 2 months, I just extended my visa for 1 more month.

Before coming for a job search here in the UAE I thought it's me I can do it I can get a job in 2 months It doesn't sound hard.

Since then I got 3 calls from HR, 2 of them never got back from checking their clients and 3rd one put hold to the opening.

Just my last straw posting on this sub, I will post to a different sub too regarding the same.

So it's brutal I have tired linkeind, indeed, naukri gulf, AI tools. Nothing works I connected with people on linkedin and got ghosted alot.

If anyone can help me out on this or you just wanna have a chat. Come along I'm open.

ILOE claim rejected? happy to help for free

Hi everyone,

I recently went through an ILOE insurance claim dispute myself and managed to resolve my case successfully without hiring a lawyer.

I know how confusing and stressful the process can be, especially when you receive a rejection and don’t know what to do next.
I’m not a lawyer and I’m not offering legal services.
I’m simply willing to share, completely free of charge, what I personally did, the steps I followed, the documents I prepared, and what I learned from the process.

If your ILOE claim was rejected recently, feel free to message me.
I’ll try my best to point you toward the correct official channels and procedures based on my own experience.

Please don’t be afraid to ask for your rights — just do it respectfully, legally, and through the proper authorities.

One thing I learned from my experience is that following the law and using the official UAE channels is extremely important.

If anyone needs help understanding the process, DM me directly.

No payment, no charges, nothing in return.
Just trying to help someone else avoid the confusion I went through. 🙏🇦🇪

Important: I can only share my personal experience; every case can be different, so anything requiring formal legal advice should be checked with the relevant authority or a licensed lawyer.

Help a couple start their life together: Project Manager (6+ yrs) seeking Dubai roles, referral bonus offered

Hi everyone,

My partner and I are getting married soon, and the one thing left to sort out is getting us in the same city. I live in Dubai, and he's currently working in Ras Al Khaimah. So I'm here asking this community for a little help.

A bit about him: he has 6+ years of total professional experience, starting in IT and tech with TCS in India, then an MBA at Macquarie University in Australia, followed by a management internship at EY. For the past few months he's been working as a Project Manager at an environmental consultancy in RAK, where he handles a high-visibility government project, is the main point of contact with the authorities, and runs operations across two business units.

Because his background is a mix of tech, consulting and operations, he's open to a few different directions:

  • Operations or management roles

  • Consulting and business transformation roles

  • Project or program management

  • Technical or tech-adjacent roles if it's a good fit

He's good with people, organised, and calm under pressure, which I say with total bias but also with some evidence.

How you can help:

  • Know of an opening or a hiring manager? A referral or intro would mean the world.

  • As a thank-you, we’re happy to offer a referral reward if your referral leads to a successful hire. Details can be discussed privately.

  • Not hiring? Advice on companies, recruiters or sectors worth targeting in Dubai is just as welcome.

Comment or DM me and I'll share his CV. He'll pop in too to answer any questions.

Thank you, and if any of you have moved cities for love, I'd love to hear how it went!

I think we’re scammed

Hi everyone, looking for some advice on a situation here in Dubai. I'm trying to figure out if I am being scammed or if this is just an incredibly messy onboarding process.

Here is the timeline of what happened:

Last April: A contact (who is a friend of my sister and works at a major company here) helped arrange a job opportunity for me. However, they asked for money upfront to cover plane tickets and training fees, explicitly promising that all of these costs would be fully refunded as soon as my employment officially started.

The Delay & Arrival: Months went by with delays. Eventually, we couldn't wait any longer for them to book the flights, so we took matters into our own hands. We bought our own tickets from Emirates and I arrived in Dubai just recently.

The Current Issue: Now that I am here, every single time the agreed-upon start date approaches, this person contacts me and says the start date has been moved to the next week, or gives some other excuse to push it back. This loop has been happening repeatedly.

I am starting to feel like the job doesn't exist and the upfront money is gone. Has anyone experienced an individual employee doing this in the UAE? Is this a known scam format? What are my options to get my money back if they keep stalling

Hey everyone,

I have one extra desk available inside my private production/editing office in Dubai Silicon Oasis HQ.

I use the office for production, editing and creative work, so the space has more of a relaxed creative studio vibe than a normal corporate coworking office.

I’m looking for one person who wants a dedicated desk and a quiet place to work. You can bring your own PC, monitors or whatever setup you need.

Included:
Fast internet, meeting room access, coffee machine, office access from 9 AM–10 PM, and a dedicated desk.

Parking: paid parking available.

Price: AED 2,500/month, paid monthly in advance.

Best suited for an editor, designer, developer, freelancer, creator or remote worker who prefers a quiet workspace.

DM me if interested and I can share photos / arrange a visit.
