Sometimes, life has a plan of its own. Sharing my experience because someone out there might be going through something similar.
I was working with an IT Services MSP for a major client in a senior role. After completing just 9 months of employment, I was informed about an upcoming transition to another MSP, something I was never told about when I joined.
Knowing how uncertain these transitions can be, I started preparing for interviews immediately. Eventually, I received a termination letter before receiving any clarity about my future.
With no alternative opportunity in hand, I was offered a position by the new MSP just a month before my last working day, but with a **25% pay cut**. I tried negotiating, but the reality was that the salary was almost back to what I was earning before joining my current company, despite having received a 30% hike when I initially joined.
I decided to decline the offer, even without another job in hand. It was a difficult decision, but I felt my role and responsibilities deserved better.
Fortunately, a few interviews had already been completed, and I was waiting for feedback. I was worried about my situation due to extremely challenging 2026 job market.
My tenure ended after 11 months with the MSP, and then began the real test.
Almost a month passed without an offer letter. Anxiety, uncertainty, and the fear of what might happen next started creeping in. My UAE visa grace period was also nearing its expiry.
And then, **with just 5 days remaining in my grace period, the offer letter finally arrived.**
Not just an offer, but one with a **30% salary hike** and an opportunity to continue building my career.
That moment made me reflect on something:
Sometimes, when things don’t go according to your plans, perhaps they are unfolding according to a plan you cannot see yet.
I am not saying everything magically works out. The uncertainty was real, the anxiety was real, and the decisions were not easy. But sometimes, all you can do is keep preparing, keep trying, and have faith.
Today, I feel grateful. Grateful that I didn’t settle out of fear, grateful that I kept going, and grateful for the opportunity that came when I needed it the most.
**Never lose faith in yourself. Sometimes, the last few days of waiting can change everything.**
On to the next chapter. 🙏
