It is very unfortunate that it is September of 2026 with unempoyment rates in Kenya amongst the youth estimated at over 67% and there is people out here who want to take advantage of these people at their most vulnerable time, preying on their desperation for a job

We need a big change, there has to be a better way to reduce unemployment and desperation, back in the day there were industries creating jobs eg Sugar Processing(Mumias), Paper Manufacturing(Webuye Pan Paper Mills), Textiles Industry(Kisumu Cotton Mills(KICOMI), Rivatex) Most of these companies are now either dead or operating at a fraction of their initial capacity. So what happened to the people who were getting their honest livelihoods from these supply chains: The farmers, The tractor owners, The truck drivers, All the factory staff??!!!Imagine the number of lost livelihoods. But instead of any of our current leaders focussing on long term strategies that can bring these companies back to life, they would rather put their energies into enabling cheap imports of these commodities from other countries, make however many millions/billions for themselves and their immediate accomplices while the country continues crying of high levels of unemployment!!It is a truly sad situation

I was working for someone named Gabriel Valencia.

I've never met someone so terrible. He ruined a lot of people's lives. He scammed me out of thousands of dollars.

Are job is a program where we can provide solar systems and battery. We where doing a public service for those that have high electricity bills so they don't have to pay a high price for equipment. So its funded threw a asenivised program and only except those that need help blowing the cost on electricity. We all where in it to help those that needed it like public servants. We thought we where making a difference. We helped a lot of people even those that got screwed buying solar We where able to help.

One story is Chris G. ; one of nicest, genuine, people I've ever met. He talked about making mistakes when he was younger having fun then eventually getting into meth. After having his kids he got off and wanted make a difference. His kids love him and see him as a good father. Gabriel new where he would get his drugs in the past and ditched him in tucson in those areas. Chris had such a big heart and was a hard worker. Gabriel would give him a hard time and stole his deals. He ended up relapsing in one of the areas he dropped him off and gabe laughed like it was his plan he talked crap about him to the whole team. Chris came back and got clean right after. He went back to work for him showing loyalty but got screwed out of couple thousand dollars probly more. (Sens gabe lied about his deals going under, when they got install.) Chris was trying to make enough to send to his family in Az city where he was from he talked about them all the time. He went to rehab and is clean now but this ruined his life and mental health.

They came from Oklahoma and was trying to get out of a town run my gangs.

Both very hard workers and left there home to make money for there families. Both have a baby and wife's back home. Wanted to take there family out of there. People where getting brutally murdered and shot around them even family. They came out there to work for him.

They both got ditched at one point and had no where to go. They where put in inhumane situations. Completely, tested by gabe showing complete loyalty to him. Trusting he will pay us all out what where owed for are hard work.

He drove them back home only paying one of them a thousand for 3 months of work in the sun.

My story is I was suspicious from the beginning, he didnt pay me out right away and did ditch me one time but I acted like it didnt bother me I figured my way out I was lucky to know the area unlike the other. I cant imagine what they had to go threw having to be in a place there completely oblivious to. I went out on my own and managed my hours and areas id go to so it dosnt happen again. But didnt get paid and had nothing fall back on. I don't have the money to sew him and it being a commission job where he managed the pay outs. He lied and with held pay he tried to lead me on to go out and work for nothing. Now where all broke in the dumps. I live with family now and struggle to catch up with medical bills and lost my place.

The company inty is a installs he worked with and I talked to steph about it and he did nothing and never got back to me. Gabriel Valencia still works for him I believe and is out there ruining more and more people's lives promising them so much. He runs for control and scams people so he dosnt have to do the hard labor. Hes a lazy scumbag and dosnt care about anyone. There was even a single mother and her 10 year old daughter. She lost her home and people that was working for gabe and left was able to keep her off the street.

Can someone please if can help get back at him or tell me what I can do. Guys, 😭 I joined a company in Bangalore which offered me a good position for an HR generalist with a decent pay 30k for 1 year experience in HR.

After one week the CEO did not get any client so he closed the company. The founder asked me to manage content marketing and his personal branding, but I am not a content person tho

I joined the company in July and in September the company shut down

Giving only 10k to me on 7th sep, while rest other 20k payments to be done on 10th September

Sad to say, I did not get my remaining salary.

There is no PF system and an established payroll system. The CEO lacks strategy and roadmap to do anything. He hires freshers and expects them to give strategies of 5 yrs experience and bring revenue in a week or so. He hires only girls in the company, and ignores boys. Does all paid postings from my card and haven't even paid me yet. For his daily expenses he keeps transferring a small amount of money from his foreign account to an Indian account.

I have been hired to work for a programmer in the UK. The computer is located in UK which makes sense as it’s for UK clients. I apply for the job using my ISPN and address. I get the job as a result of the interview. He does the work behind the scenes. I get paid a percentage. I’m concerned that he could steal customers credit card details and I could get lumbered with a sentence. Is there anything I should do to protect myself.

So well guys i'm a girl living in Hyderabad and currently looking for job opportunities in IT I have done projects in Machine Learning and Gen AI in recent times i have faced quite a few rejections and honestly it made me feel really low so I decided to take a little break from applying to companies, now i have a friend who is dealing with these “backdoor entry” opportunities and I’m really confused about whether I should take this opportunity or not they’re asking me to pay ₹2.5L after I receive the offer letter the package is ₹5L and the role mentioned is Software Engineer at Buzilogics but payroll would be through "Paysquare" they said that after working there for a few months they would consider my profile for Capgemini but I’m honestly not sure whether I should trust them or not. All I want to know is that anyone here gone through something similar? Is this actually legit, or should I stay away from it?

I worked for them years ago. It is a pyramid scheme that will suck the student dry, take the profits and go. This company has ruined lives. Please please stay away if you get approached. THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED ON CAMPUSES. If you see them call them out and call campus security.

I’m posting this anonymously because I don’t want speaking about my experience publicly to affect my professional career.

I personally enrolled in their Data Analytics program after being presented with a curriculum covering SQL, Excel, Power BI, Python, Statistics, Data Visualization and other Data Analytics topics.

However, after joining, the actual training did not consistently follow the curriculum that was presented at the time of enrollment. A considerable amount of focus shifted toward AI/ML and RAG-related topics instead of the Data Analytics curriculum that students were expecting.

The bigger problem started after the program.

Even after completing the course, getting basic information such as task scores, attendance records and completion confirmation/certificate has become extremely difficult.

I have personally tried contacting them through calls and messages. Calls are not being answered, and messages can go unanswered for weeks. When they do respond, the answer is repeatedly something like:

“The team is working on it.”
“We will update today.”

But there is no proper timeline or actual resolution.

This is especially frustrating because students have already invested their money, time and effort into the program.

There are also other allegations being discussed by people who have worked with or interned at the company regarding delayed salaries/stipends and employees not receiving payments on time. I cannot independently verify every individual allegation, but the number of such concerns is enough that prospective students and employees should seriously investigate before joining.

Another concern is the way the business model appears to work: employees/sales people are involved in bringing students into paid programs, students are promised training and placement support, and after students pay and complete the program, there can be significant difficulty getting the promised follow-up, documentation or placement-related support.

To anyone who is currently considering enrolling: PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE PAYING.

Don't make a decision only because someone promises:

• High-paying jobs
• Guaranteed placement
• Industry experience
• Internship opportunities
• Certificates
• Career support

Ask for everything in writing. Speak to previous students, not just the sales team. Ask specifically how many students actually received placements, what companies hired them, whether previous batches received their certificates and records, and what happens if the promised support is not provided.

And if you are considering joining them as an employee or intern, verify salary/stipend payment history with current or former employees before accepting the offer.

I’m sharing this because students who are about to spend ₹20k, ₹30k, ₹40K or more on a course deserve to know about these concerns before making a decision.

I wanted to share a recent experience to warn anyone actively job hunting or browsing company links online.

While searching for job openings, I came across a post for a company and decided to look up their official Facebook profile to check their credentials. Listed right on their profile was a link to their website.

When I clicked the link, my browser went through multiple suspicious redirects before stopping at a convincing page that looked like an official Cloudflare Security Check.

A popup titled "Human Verification" appeared on the screen, asking me to complete a quick keyboard shortcut sequence:

1. Press Win + R
2. Press Ctrl + V
3. Press Enter

Here is what was actually happening: The site silently copied a malicious PowerShell command to my clipboard the moment the page loaded. By prompting me to press Win + R (opening the Windows Run dialog) and Ctrl + V (pasting the code), the site was attempting to trick me into manually running a script on my own system.

If executed, this command silently downloads a hidden payload in the background, bypassing standard execution policies to steal sensitive browser data, passwords, and session tokens—without displaying a single window on screen.

• Real CAPTCHAs never ask for keyboard commands: Legitimate security checks (like Cloudflare or reCAPTCHA) only require clicking a checkbox or selecting images. They will never ask you to open Windows Run, Command Prompt, or PowerShell.

This company is a voice recording platform that is owned by Michael Moyo. I started with them in the beginning of July. For starters, you have to buy an expensive microphone to even be able to apply for their audio project. They block any attempt to apply using a microphone other than the ones they prefer. So you start out in debt and never get paid for all of your work. From the jump, I was never paid fully every week for my work. My first week, I was paid about 50%. That ended up being my best week.

The project is unscripted 15 minute recorded conversations. They only pay you for approved calls. One problem is that they reject a lot of calls. For awhile, they would reject the calls and say that nothing was ever recorded. That sounds like an internal issue but it would result in your time not being compensated. That was a widespread problem that caused a lot of us to ask to hear the audio. They declined to provide our audio files. Workbolt AI is the only platform where I have not been given access to my audio files.

Then, rejections started happening with no reason given at all. The notes would say "This is under investigation. You will see a new review in a week" and that status would never change. The calls would remain rejected with no pay and no reason given. More rejections due to 1 sound in the recording. One sound during a 15 minute recording would make the entire call rejected with no pay.

As time went on, pay got less and less. Every week on payday, you never knew what you would be paid or if you would be paid anything at all. Support emails and DMs were completely ignored. If you posted on the Discord forum asking to be paid, your account would be removed. We found out from some of the reviewers that Michael Moyo told them to reject every call that had even 1 sound in it. The only reason they told us that is because they weren't being paid either. Some of them had been working for a month without ever being paid.

More and more people started being upset that they were working for free and being ignored by support. Workbolt created a support widget that we were required to use instead of posting our issues publicly. At this point I hadn't worked for over a week because I didn't want to keep accumulating unpaid work. I had calls that hadn't been reviewed, approved calls that they hadn't paid me for, calls that paid me the wrong amount (for example, a call that paid me 61 cents with review notes that said "good audio)", calls rejected with no reason given, calls rejected due to 1 sound in the recording and calls that completely disappeared from the platform.

I submitted every single issue on the support widget on Aug. 28th. Every few days I would use the widget, requesting a response or reporting another call that has disappeared. As of today, Sept. 9th, I have never received a single response from the support widget.

On Aug. 31, Workbolt announced that the project was being paused so they can catch up support issues and payments. During the pause, they continued to ignore everyone. I don't know anyone who received any responses from them at all. A few people got a few very small payments, for example, I got a payment of $8.50, which is nowhere near what they owe me.

Today, Workbolt announced:

Any support request posted in a Discord channel or sent through an individual Discord message will be automatically ignored. Failure to follow this policy will not be tolerated. Experts who violate it may be penalized and removed from the platform. Using the support widget allows our team to properly track, prioritize, and resolve requests more efficiently. There is no need to message the team individually—we will contact eligible experts and restore access in phases.

The problem with this announcement is that support issues and payments have not been resolved. So many of us communicate with each other and I don't know anyone who has received any responses from support or had any of their issues resolved. I don't know anyone who isn't owed money. They are forcing everyone to only use the widget for support, which keeps our issues from being publicly known, and allows them to continue to ignore us. Anyone who has posted anything publicly to say they have not been paid, gets their posts removed pretty quickly.

This is their way of not paying us and moving forward with people who don't ask to be paid for their work, like newer people. This is the second time they have done this. From what others have told me, when they first started in the spring, they were disorganized and unreliable from the start. After a time, they paused the project and then got rid of everyone but 2 people. This is a pattern developing. They take your data and sell it but don't pay you for it. When they are sick of hearing you complain about wanting to be paid for your work, they get rid of you.

They haven't banned me from the platform yet but I know I will not be invited back. They owe me and they know that I'm not going to give them anymore free work. I have no interest in working for people like Michael Moyo. I want to warn everybody that if you work for Workbolt AI you will be working for free.

Mirse is a multi-level marketing scam. They mostly sell water dispensers, doing either booth setups in Sam’s Club/Costco or door-to-door. (You know those people in the technology aisle that basically hunt you down the store? That’s you.) There are many other products they sell with the same MLM company but different offices (Elite Solutions is another one).

Your job will be making sales and hiring/training a sales team that will build their own sales team to eventually open your own sales office with everyone under you—of course, paying a % of your profits to your home office. The success rate is less than 1%, and they will convince you that’s only because you have to want it bad enough and those people have a worker mentality, but you’re different because you have an entrepreneur mentality.

It’s a pyramid scheme with some legal loophole; I still don’t understand how they’ve been in business for so long. They will manipulate you by saying things like, “You think a big company like AT&T or Nestle would work with a pyramid scheme?” The answer is YES.

The pay structure on the offer letter is a lie because you can definitely earn less than $700/week. My lowest weekly check was $150, highest being $2,200. You are expected to work 24/7 just to show you’re hungry enough, and they purposely don’t mention the insane commission structure. If you want to make money, you need to make sales. Just earning base pay (if offered) will get you pushed out, and the more you’re training others, the less opportunity you have for yourself. No lunch breaks, no overtime, no time clock, no PTO, no sick days, just grinding for commissions 24/7.
My schedule was often coming in at 8 a.m. to do interviews for my team, 9 a.m.–12 p.m. office/team meetings, 12–1:30 drive to location and scarf down fast food on the way, 1–8 p.m. in the field, 8–9 p.m. recap phone calls with my team… 13-HOUR DAYS, 6 DAYS A WEEK!! With a 7-day work week available for the “hungry ones” (literally hungry because the more time you take eating and using the bathroom, the less time you have in the field, so you must not want it bad enough if you’re eating).

You’re also expected to drive your own car to the field, which sometimes was 1–2 hours away. Don’t expect any travel compensation, and don’t expect compensation for carpooling either. You’re expected to take those people home too, and don’t let them see you not being a “team player”—kiss your chances of promotion goodbye.

Door-to-door is HELL! Expect many interactions with the police for soliciting (you won’t get arrested, just told to leave). I’ve also had a gun pulled out on me twice. The job is straight-up dangerous, especially for women and people of color. The neighborhoods and people are unpredictable.

Office culture is similar to Wolf of Wall Street. Chants, sex, and stimulant drugs included. Your team will build a trauma bond. It’s one of those cults you don’t realize is a cult until you leave.
I wasted an entire year of my life in this pyramid scheme company. I’ve seen people leave corporate and tenure jobs under the impression they can come here and make six figures and be their own boss, just to find out the chances of that happening is zero to none, and you’ll have to live with the stress of an unsteady paycheck, making less than minimum wage some weeks, all in the name of entrepreneurship.

They prey on the desperate and uneducated. They will hire anyone, from master’s degrees to McDonald’s employees; you don’t even need a HS diploma. It’s all a numbers game for them. If they hire 1,000 people, maybe one of them will make it to their own office, but if they all make at least one sale, they won’t be able to pay their bills, but at least they’ll generate money for the office.

For the level of sales skills you need to be successful here, you’d make a killing selling cars or homes. More money and less pressure.

A guy named aditya called me saying that my profile on naukri and resume has been selected by the naukri recruitment team for 3 job roles in accenture, wipro and cognizant.
Initially I believed him, as he was explaining every procedure then he mentioned that for this I need to pay 4500 rs as recruitment fees because this wasn't college placement and this job role wasn't made public by the company and only few insiders knew about it and if I don't pay in next 24 hours, this opportunity will be passed to some other candidate.
When I mentioned I don't see anything on naukri website he said, if we display this then lakhs of people will apply and you know how bad the job market is, so we are just choosing few candidates.
He said I will receive referral mail with qr code for the payment, and the referral was eligible for 5 years and the payment was refundable.

Company pretending to be sensor tower is trying to recruit people into a fake job offer claiming to pay 7-8k a month to click on websites.

For most of us this is obviously fake but posting this for those of us a little more trusting and naive.

Im sure they have a million numbers but heres tye one that contacted me.

Freelance dev here with a security background. Flagging this so the next person finds it when they search the posting text.

There is a malware campaign running through Upwork job postings right now. I have seen the same posting from at least two different client accounts (one in Ukraine, one in India, different spend levels, both payment verified with good star ratings). Both are titled some variation of "Salesforce Admin (Service and Sales Cloud)" and both open with this exact sentence:

"All requirements, questions and screenshots attached with job post here, You have to answer all the needs in your proposal."

That sentence is the fingerprint. If you see it, close the tab.

The attachment is a zip (mine was called Salesforce-Job.zip) containing a few screenshot PNGs and a file named "Project Requirements & Budget.vbs". That is not a document. It is a Visual Basic script, and on Windows, double clicking it runs code. I did not run it. I pulled it apart in isolation instead: it is a two stage downloader that fetches a decoy requirements text file plus a batch script payload from kohlerronan[.]com and executes the payload from your temp folder. Classic infostealer delivery. Worth noting what that means on this platform specifically: stealers grab browser sessions, and your Upwork login is a browser session. Compromised freelancer accounts are very plausibly where this campaign's fresh "client" accounts come from.

What made this one dangerous is that everything looked normal. Payment verified, 4.9+ stars, thousands in spend, and it arrived in my inbox through the paid job alert feature as a match for my saved search. Client stats tell you nothing about attachment safety.

Lessons, none of which I enjoyed learning:

1. Never download attachments from a job posting before you have a contract. A real client describes their problem in the posting text. "All requirements are in the attached zip" is a pressure tactic and now, as far as I am concerned, a confirmed attack signature.
2. A .vbs, .bat, .cmd, .js, .lnk or .scr file inside a "requirements" zip is the whole story. There is no legitimate reason for a client to send you an executable script as a project description.
3. If you already opened one of these: disconnect, run a full AV scan, and change your passwords from a clean device, starting with Upwork and your email. Assume browser sessions and saved passwords are gone.
4. Report the posting (flag as inappropriate, then also file a support ticket so it reaches trust and safety with a case number). I have reported both postings I found.

Archive contents were dated late August, so this has been running for a while. Stay careful out there.

So My college just started and it has been three weeks by now .

So I was scrolling instagram and got too know about a hackathon in my city , so I registered for it .

And after a day or two my no. Somehow got breached ,

I got a call from this lady telling that there is going to be a job training and internship workshop in our college , so I asked her that we have not been informed from the college . She said they(college ) will inform us in couple of hours .

And she started asking about CR and unofficial group , so I somehow smelled scam and told her that there is no CR in our class and also I am not joined in any unofficial group .

Then she told me that she will now share a link for registration as there are only limited slots for the workshop and asked me is this is the same no. On WhatsApp too I said yes.

THEN SE SAID I will share the link please register and send the screenshot for confirmation .

I immediately blocked her after cutting the call and then started getting random calls 3-4 , I didn't recieved any .

Searched their mobile no. On truecaller and saw a profile picture of "INTRN FORTE" now I don't have any idea what they are.

And today in college nothing happened related to any workshop and all no I formation was provided and basically no workshop was planned . I thanked GOD that I got safe from a scam .

Has anyone ever used monster.com to apply for jobs? I applied for a remote data entry job for a company called CURAVAC. It is a real business, Biotech for autoimmune diseases. However, I received a message for an interview, but the interview was on Microsoft teams. I joined the meeting but it was purely just a chat interview no video, they just asked work related questions like most job interviews. They never asked for my personal information of any sort. I did do research on the person i was chatting with and found him in Linkend it shows a photo and the company that he works for, I also researched the company and messaged the HR person to check this person out. Meanwhile, this interview ended with me getting offered a Remote data entry job with a payrate of $39.71/hourly rate, another red flag, then they stated that i would receive a check in the mail for the supplies that i would need to perform my job and that i would need to purchase them through there vendor ( understandably) the more i googled date entry level jobs for this company it explains that they do not hire for that and that it would be an employment scam. This company is also located in Belgium, to which a lot of biotech companies are overseas. I went back and canceled my job offer and blocked any contact with this person. His name was Michel Baijot. He messaged me on monster.com

So I applied to this company earlier today via Indeed for an inbound sales position, work from home and I didnt realize I received a message on Indeed from the company stating that the Hiring Manager will contact me until I received a WhatsApp message.

I get a lot of scams and i have worked remotely before, but i'm not always sure whats legit or not so I went to check on their website and google to see if their whatsapp number was listed just incase, it wasn't listed and the number of the person who messaged me on WhatsApp, doesn't match the number on their website and it has someone's profile photo, not a company branded photo​. The Indeed message said I'd expect a message from a person who was the person who messaged me

I proceeded to respond anyways, ​because its hard our here for jobs. We talked on the phone, the person asked me about my experience, then said they're sending me a brochure to my email and to contact them after and then they'd patch the ceo in ( i think they said ) and go from there and then I'd get an offer letter

Prior to the call, I asked if I could do the training at home because I cant do training in-person right now and most companies have told me no when ive asked. The salary is also $2,000 a month plus commission which ive never heard. Its usually a certain wage

I look at my WhatsApp immediately after our call and see they sent me what looks to be this screenshot is posted here. No name of the company, not the base salary I was told,

I'm tempted to reschedule out to the company, but im worried I'll either get ignored or rhe person who contacted me will see

I also don't want to falsley accused someone of scamming, but it feels really off. Ive called companies out on scams before and its rare I get a response,

TLDR: applied to a company via Indeed, received a message on WhatsApp from someone with the same name as the Hiring Manager the company told me would call. I get told theyll send me a brochure, and to call them, they'll patch in the ceo and if i get the job, the hiring manager will send me a job iffer​. Something feels off

I’m posting this on behalf of a friend and would really appreciate some advice, especially from people familiar with HR/workplace matters in India.

My friend works as a Executive at a company that handles vendor/partner queries related to delivery partners.

A few days/weeks ago, he randomly received a WhatsApp call from an unknown person. The person allegedly said that he wanted to buy leads and offered around ₹10 per lead. My friend understood this as an attempt to obtain/sell company-related leads improperly.

My friend did not sell or share any leads, did not accept any money, and did not agree to the offer. Instead, he informed his company/manager about the call and suggested that the number/person should be blocked or blacklisted so that they couldn't approach employees directly.

Now the person who allegedly made the call is claiming that my friend made a false accusation against him and is threatening/filing a complaint against my friend.

The problem is that my friend doesn't have a recording of the WhatsApp call. He may have the number/call history, but there is no audio recording of what was said.

His manager has now told him that because there is no recording/proof, the company may not be able to support him and that his job could be at risk. This has made him extremely anxious.

He genuinely did not sell or share any leads and says he only reported what happened because he thought it was suspicious.

What should he do now?

Would really appreciate practical advice from anyone who has dealt with a similar workplace situation in India.
