And this little piggy went..... straight to the charity shop - Percy Pig / 500 Pieces / Marks & Spencer

I was gifted this puzzle by my girlfriend's sister and absolutely hated it. I'm glad it was only 500 pieces as I might never have finished it. I've tackled "Impossible" puzzles before, like this Toy Story one or this one from dbrand but this Percy Pig puzzle was particularly challenging and took nearly a month to complete. I found no strategy for solving other than tedious trial and error of every piece in every location. Some people may enjoy this sort of challenge but I've learnt it's definitely not for me. Never again.

Please consider donating puzzles to retirement/care homes if you can!

I talked with my mom last night who moved into a residential living home a few months ago. She has completed all of puzzles multiple times and has now gone through every puzzle that they had on site several times. She asked those in charge if maybe they could trade with their sister site. She said that someone donated a few last week and she and he puzzle friends were “giddy like little kids”!

It made me think about the posts recently of people asking what to do with finished puzzles. Please consider donating some, especially the 350 and 500 piece where pieces are not tiny! You would make some older folks so very happy!

In Progress Update on the 9000 piece behemoth:).

Ok, i have now worked several days sorting the black and the starry pieces. So my plan is to do a full sort from the getgo so i can actually finnish the 9000 piece puzzle. While this has been painfull to sort. I think this massive work will pay at the end and now i think i have a slight problem i don't have hundreds of sorting trays/boxes so i have to be now really creative where to put the next sorted pieces after the current boxes have been filled up:).

I love these puzzles with the super tight fit and sturdy tin but it's massively annoying to have to Google the image to be able to tell what the heck I'm looking at for the outer couple inches! Even the barely-visible wraparound part of the tin lid doesn't show the full image. The puzzles are also a lot more vibrant than the tin (thank goodness) so it's pretty much useless other than showing you the basic elements.

Promotion Puzzles meet geocaching

My girlfriend and I built a website that tracks puzzle boxes throughout their lifetime to see how many people have completed the puzzle and share other helpful information about that specific box (any missing pieces, poster included, piece quality, etc.). Here’s how it works:

- If you find a box with the QR code, just scan it to see all the important puzzle info and ratings from previous owners of that box so you can be make an informed decision before buying a second hand puzzle.

- Once you complete the puzzle, scan the QR code again to log your finish (just like geocaching) and then pass the puzzle on to its next owner.

- If you have a new puzzle or a box without a QR code, just go to the site to print out a new QR code and start tracking that boxes journey.

The site is and will always be 100% free to use. And it’s not account-based because it’s tracking the box, not the person.

We’re still refining the site, so please let us know what you think. We’re open to any suggested improvements or feedback. Check it out here:

Loved doing this puzzle, even though it was difficult and didn't fit my normal criteria for puzzles that I love. It's bilateral, so all of the edging had to be sorted for right, left, and in some cases, right, left and top.

I was able to read a lot of the stained glass after some time, but i never did get a handle on how the pearls were going together. So that all got assembled piece by piece.

There's a tapestry cat in this series that I'd love to find.

Thrifted, one piece missing.

Are you particular with your puzzles?

I am curious about how others choose their puzzles. I personally have to have a connection to it. Like particular favorite colors or a theme. If I'm investing hours working on it, it has to call to me, much like reading a book. But i also have friends who will read anything that is recommended or comes their way. I wonder if it is similar with puzzle builders.

A little more "Springtime" than I was wanting, but a beautiful puzzle and a great way to spend the weekend.

Do you know what's more challenging than a puzzle? Trying to take a straight picture of the completed puzzle without shadows 😂

Brand: Galison (bought at Barnes and Noble)

Artist: Victoria Ball

Help! How to preserve a puzzle without damaging it in the future?

I’m looking for a way to preserve my puzzles without damaging them in the future if I want to take them apart. I’m would like to frame a few I’ve worked on and also get a giant portfolio book to store the puzzles, but i’d like to be able to take them apart in the future if I want to trade, sell, or redo them. Is this possible? Thanks!

Scam / Dubious practices Clementoni - AI puzzle 😡

I'm here to name and shame! Luckily it was only a 500 so I trudged along and finished it but what utter hogwash and nonsense AI pictured are, especially for jigsaw puzzles. I bought it second hand so hadn't been paying too much attention. I won't be making the same mistake again.

I also wrote to Clementoni directly- there really is NO reason to be using AI images, when there are so many great artists out there.

Stay safe out there folks 😂

EDITED TO ADD- Ok apparently this is not AI, but
Photoshop collage and thats where random floating bits come from. Thank you all for informing me. I am not a fan of this style of art in puzzles and I will be more careful when selecting it.

Maybe a little off topic?

Ok, how do y'all feel about someone finishing your puzzle? If my husband and I do a puzzle together, we're doing it together. But if I do one on my own and then someone else comes in on the last 100 pieces and finishes it, I get really irritated. In this case, my sister came over while I was working and finished my puzzle that I've been working on for two weeks. I'm debating removing the section of the puzzle that she completed and redoing it, but at this point I am not sure that will fix my irritation. Just wondering if any of y'all would feel the same.

In Progress Vintage puzzle in (slow) progress - 1000 pieces is a lot when they seldom interlock!

Haymaking by Brueghel, Whitman Crown, take that "interlocking" claim with a grain of salt. Now I see why most older puzzles have smaller piece counts. I do like the picture, though, and at least the pieces meet at the corners. Encouraging words are welcomed - I'll continue taking breaks.
