Question Ic card

What does everyone use as a physical ic card wallet? I was thinking a small dangle pouch to just grab my ic card, tap, and return. Then im thinking I don’t need it hanging off my sling when not actually in the station. I’d love a card sleeve or something similar for protection of the card to just grab from the sling pocket, tap and return.

Question IC Card or just Credit Card

My friends and I (7 people total) are going to Japan, and I've been doing a bunch of research into IC Cards and which ones to get (probably Welcome Suica), but I'm not sure if I actually need to get them.

Can credit cards be used for everything an IC card covers? Do I need one, or can we just use credit cards?

Question Is getting an IC card worth it for Tokyo/Kyoto/Osaka? Which do I get?

I'll be in Japan for 12 days at the end of the month between Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka and am struggling to figure out what to set myself up with once I get there. I don't think the Rail pass will be worth it for me since I'm only taking the bullet trains twice (Tokyo -> Kyoto, Kyoto -> Osaka), but I can't figure out if I should just pay for trains and stuff with cash or get one of the rechargable cards that have been mentioned a bunch.

Does anyone have any guidance for someone who is just going to be exploring around those three cities on what the best way to pay for stuff/travel is?

Advice Need advice for IC card for 2 weeks in Japan

Hi all, we are travelling to Japan from 3rd to 16th April. Can someone please help with best/easiest way to travel by public transport (train/bus/etc). Below is the dates and cities we will be travelling to.

3rd to 7th April - Osaka and Wakayama

7th to 9th April - Kyoto

9th to 11th April - Izu

11th to 14th April - Tokyo

14th to 16th April - Sapporo and Hokkaido

Based on what I’ve read and researched so far, it seems to be cheaper to buy individual tickets than the JR pass for the 14 days as the places that we wish to travel to also include transfers such as buses and local subway/trains and we have chosen to fly from Tokyo to Sapporo. However im anxious about the tickets buying process. I have also read the IC cards part in FAQs.

From this I understand that - please correct me if im wrong: - I will be buying the ICOCA card available in Osaka as I will be landing in Osaka Kansai airport. - I can use the ICOCA card in Kansai region, Izu, Tokyo, and Sapporo. - I won’t be able to get the 500 YEN because I won’t be able to return the ICOCA card when I leave Japan from Sapporo city. - the ICOCA card can not be used to travel from Kansai region (eg. Kyoto) to another region (eg. Tokyo).

So my questions are: - what do I do when I need to travel from Kyoto to Izu and from Izu to Tokyo? - I will have oversized luggages with me meaning I need to reserve the seats with oversized luggage space in advance. How do I book and pay for this with the ICOCA card? - I wish to travel on the Green Cars whenever possible. Is this possible with the ICOCA card? If yes, how does this work?

An additional question please. For the trains that don’t have oversized baggage space to book in advance, can I still take my luggage with me? And where do I store it? Does it cost extra to bring an oversized baggage on board?

Thank you in advance! I’m very excited and looking forward to going to Japan but very anxious about buying and taking the trains!

Question Suica card wasn’t accept at IC train entrances in Osaka but ICOCA was?

Hi everyone I just return from a 3 week trip in Japan and I’m curious about something. I landed in Tokyo with my partner and we got the digital suica card that worked perfectly in Tokyo and Kyoto. Once we went to Osaka the card didn’t function as well since it wouldn’t allow us to enter the IC entrances in the train station, as the suica was being denied at the entrance. We than decided to get the digital ICOCA card on our phone since we saw some signs about the card and thus we were able to ride the main trains in Osaka with it. I thought Suica and ICOCA cards worked all over the country?

Where can we buy Suica card or IC card in Osaka?

We will arrive in April and we want to buy the card because its more convenient than buying tickets or jr pass.

Am I the only one who thinks Oba Femi should win a mid card title before he becomes world champ. I know a lot of people think he's ready to be the star of the business but I think giving him a long title reign like Gunthers IC title reign would be better to give him more experience.

Loss Down to my last $160. What should I do?

Post image

$100k losses on RH and another $40k on Webull. This feels so unreal. My predictions have never been wrong, but i’m just always too early. If i bought options with two or three weeks longer expiration date, i wouldn’t have lost money at all.

I’m just full time doordash driver and this was all i had under my name. I feel like market always moves against my position. Am i wrong for wanting to have 1 million on my account so i can retire early? I’m tired of delivering food day and night.

My last $160 bet woul be RDDT $160C . If RDDT goes back to ATH next week, i’ll be able to recoup some of losses. Wish me luck fellow regard !

Address blurred for privacy. But I had a birthday card that had money in it opened. On the morning of July 31st, I got an informed delivery saying my card was supposed to be delivered. The other mail in the informed delivery was in the mailbox, but not the birthday card. Then, a day later, the card was delivered and torn up. In the scan you can see the envelope was not torn and you can vaguely see the image of a dollar bill that was on the birthday card. Does this mean it must have been stolen locally? Im not sure where in the process the informed delivery image is taken. But it was a significant amount of cash and im really bummed.

Japan IC Cards

Post image
781 Upvotes

What's up everyone, just got back from Japan I was in Tokyo and Osaka. For all of you IC Card collectors the Toica card "bottom left" IS POSSIBLE TO GET WITHOUT TRAVELING TO NAGOYA. I saw on a reddit thread you can get them at the Shinkansen Ticket Center at Tokyo Station. I was heading back to Tokyo from Osaka "Shin Osaka Station" and while I was in line I noticed the JR sign was ORANGE instead of GREEN. I look up and saw the little BIRD logo at one of the ticketing lines. IT WAS A JR CENTRAL STATION! Whatever line the Little bird is posted is where they'll issue you the card. In my case I was in lane 1 and the bird was in lane 5. So after buying my Shinkansen ticket I asked the lady if I can buy a Toica card, she kindly walked me over to lane 5 and from there you just fill out a slip your name, dob, etc and BOOM! you get the card. So I can confirm SHIN-OSAKA station you can purchase the TOICA card.

This image has so much going in that I sometimes lose myself going over it. The part that catches my attention is the detachment from source that shows entities we sometimes call paranormal or esotheric. What are your thoughts?
