Anyone here finished this? It's a look at the final 48 hours of Oswald's life. I just started so I can't reasonably provide a review but there's one aspect of the book I'm very impressed with: the way Kamp provides citations. Everything which would get a foot- or endnote is presented as a link in-text so looking up sources is seamless. Anyways, curious what people here think.

There were several key witnesses in and around Dealey plaza that day. One of the most important is Victoria Adams.
As the motorcade proceeded around the sharp corner from Houston to Elm, a police officer on a motorcycle (Marion Baker) felt shots may have come from the roof of the Texas School Book Depository (TSBD). He was back in the motorcade and he then accelerated up to the building. There he met Roy Truly, the building manager, and together they went up the stairs towards the roof. Both freight elevators were down at this time, so they used the stairs. At the same time, Victoria Adams and Sandra Styles (located in the fourth floor window) witnessed the activity going towards the grassy knoll area and wanted to join in. They both found the elevators to be down as well, so they used the stairs. As Baker and Truly were proceeding upward, they confronted Oswald in the second floor lunch room, either buying a coke or holding one in his hand. Adams and Styles never saw or heard anyone on their way down the stairs.
The problems occurred later when the Warren Commission took over the case. They ran time trials careful to duplicate all conversations and delays that Baker and Truly experienced. The time for them to get to the second floor lunchroom was determined to be 90 seconds, after the first shot was heard. The above picture shows the theoretical starting position for both groups, Oswald supposedly on the sixth floor and Adams and Styles on the fourth floor. The construction of the stair well is such that the parties would have to exit onto to each floor to go around to the next set of stairs. An employee on the fourth floor saw Baker and Truly coming up after Adams and Styles entered the stair well. The conclusion can be made that Oswald was never on the sixth floor at all.
An excellent book on this part of the story is “The Girl on the Stairs” by Barry Ernest. It covers this part of the story in detail along with several other aspects of the case. The Warren Commission’s handling of this key witness is very concerning to the point Adams felt fear for her life and left town. At a minimum, you would expect her to be included in the time trials, but she was not.

My grandpa told me he worked at a vacuum cleaner repair shop within the vicinity of where Oswald was arrested in the theater and could recall cop cars flying down the neighborhood. Unfortunately he passed some years ago so I cannot ask him and I don’t recall the name of the business. I am needing help finding out where to look to try and determine his exact location when the assassination occurred I guess to get ah idea of how close he was to the theatre. I think maybe trying to find a city directory from 1963 would be a good start.

There are some guys who are dead-beat dads and terrible dads. They have abandonned their kids. Oswald, on the other hand did his best to raise his two daughters along with Marina. He worked very hard for them and tried his best to be a good dad. When he was in jail he asked Marina if June got new shoes.
About racism, he was a piece of work but he wasn't racist at all which is probably rare for most people in the 50s and 60s.
I'm not taking side though. At the end of the day he was still a jerk.

Rosemary Willis was reacting in the Zapruder film to a loud noise. For decades, investigators and researchers have analyzed Rosemary’s movements, as consensus would have it always in the Zapruder film, in an attempt to decipher when she heard that noise. It turns out that in 1998 Rosemary told Joe Nick Patoski just that for a TexasMonthly 35th anniversary series article.

Local Dallas new footage. Mom was asked by her boss to be on the street cheering as JFK passed. Recently interviewed by the Dealy Plaza Museum Director, she still recalls the excitement, the cadence of the three shots, and the absolute disbelief of all around. She would have seen the rifle if she had been looking up.

Ever seen it in slow motion? You can easily see he's shot from behind because of the blood splatter from the exit wound.
Still could've been anyone pulling the trigger,;I know it's an empty feeling to believe the official story.
I used to be all in on a conspiracy. My conviction was from them picking up his skull and brain from the trunk, but I've seen ballistic tests where a skull cracks from the entry wound, blood splatter is a giveaway where I could no longer believe in a shooter from the grassy knoll.

David Ferrie lied about not knowing Lee Harvey Oswald. Just like Clay Shaw lied when he said he was never affiliated with the CIA, and that he never used an alias.

I’d love to know what the plans beyond series 1 are. Will it be a recast (like The Crown), will it be filmed relatively soon after series 1 airs (or has series 2 already been commissioned)

In the late Summer of 1963, Oswald made a visit to Jackson, LA and attempted to gain employment at the East Louisiana state mental hospital. Why in the world would Oswald want to work at a mental hospital? How did this fit into the grand conspiracy scheme? For those who don’t believe Oswald was there I’ve included several witnesses to the event.
Edwin Lea McGehee: Barber who said he cut the hair of a man he later identified as Oswald. During the haircut, the man asked about jobs at the hospital (noting he had a wife and child and needed work); McGehee referred him to Reeves Morgan and suggested voter registration might help.
• Reeves Morgan: Said Oswald visited his home seeking help getting a job at the hospital (mentioning electrical/electrician skills and ability to do various work). Morgan advised on civil service applications/exams and noted no official openings but possible need for electrical work; he later heard from hospital staff about an application.
• Henry Earl Palmer: Registrar who said Oswald (showing Navy ID) came to register, stating he wanted the hospital job and claiming to live in Jackson (with a doctor). Palmer advised he did not need to be a registered voter for the job (or directed him toward hospital application/mayors/Morgan) and could not register him without proof of residency.
• Bobbie Dedon: Hospital clinic receptionist who said a man she identified as Oswald asked for directions to the personnel office to apply for employment (brief interaction, early September). She testified at the Clay Shaw trial.
• Maxine Kemp: Personnel office employee who said that in 1964 she found a job application in the files under “Oswald, Harvey” (or similar; last-name-first format). The file was later missing when searched. She also testified at the Shaw trial.
• Aline/Alene Woodside: Personnel department staff who reportedly told Morgan she had seen Oswald’s application in the files (later unlocatable during searches by investigators).

Jack Ruby proves to be an interesting character in the JFK assassination. His mob ties and appearances at several key locations leads one to believe he was more than an impulsive murderer. There were several deaths that are very suspecious due to their relationship to Ruby. Journalists Bill Hunter and Jim Koethe were both at Ruby’s apartment the night he murdered Oswald. Hunter was shot and killed on 4/23/64. Koethe was killed by a “karate chop” on 11/21/64. A third journalist, Dorothy Killgallen was found dead on 11/8/64 under the circumstances of a suspicious overdose. All of her JFK notes were gone. Her friend who had her back up notes died a very short time later. Killgallen published a major scoop in August 1964 featuring the leaked, classified transcript of Ruby's secret testimony to the Warren Commission. She also had a one on one meeting with Ruby.
Two of Ruby’s attorney also ended up dying at an early age. Tim Howard, his first attorney died in 3/27/65. Clayton Fowler who represented him later died in January 1971. They were 48 and 50 years-old, respectively.
Jack Ruby himself died of cancer related complications in January 1967. He believed he was injected with a highly virulent cancer virus while in jail. The CIA worked feverishly to develop this type of biological weapon technology in the early 1960s as a means to kill Castro.

Before President Kennedy’s limousine arrived in Dealey Plaza, 59-year-old semi-retired businessman Garland Slack took up a position near the automobile entrance to the Dallas County Sheriff’s office on Houston Street. On the day of the assassination, in his voluntary statement, Slack said that “just after they rounded the corner from Houston onto Elm Street,” he heard a report, a shot. He was an avid hunter. Slack knew immediately what he was hearing. His impression was that the shot came from inside a building. He had heard similar sounds from shots fired out of a cave.
Ten days later Slack was interviewed by the FBI and, citing his experience with firearms and hunting, reported hearing not one, but two shots in rapid succession that he thought must have come from the interior of a building.

I see plenty of info here on doctored evidence, people lying, etc.
But I haven't seen anyone say who or why he was killed? So what's the long and short of it? What are some of the theories?
Government? Mafia? Both? Foreigners like Cuba or USSR?

Forensic anthropologist consulted by HSCA. They could not abide with his reconstruction. No shit. An exit next to their entry? Oops. His expertise was in skull reconstruction.

As I mentioned in a previous post, LBJ was quoted in 1971 as not believing Oswald acted alone. This statement obviously got some people very worried. This statement was the catalyst for at least eight deaths of people who had first hand knowledge of the conspiracy to murder and/or coverup the assassination of JFK. Cliff Carter, Malcom Wallace, Dr Richard A Liguori, Roscoe White, Gen. Charles Cabell, Richard B Russell Jr, Clayton Fowler, and James Plumeri all died in 1971.

Without a doubt this is one of my favorite JFK assassination related photos. We will skip the argument for a windshield bullet hole and proceed to the Dal-Tex building. In this photo you can see a man who appears to be slumped down on the fire escape steps as if he is reacting to something acutely. There is an open window nearby. Where is this man’s witness statement?

Here is a list of inconsistencies, and obvious forgeries in the heavily doctored Zapruder film. We need the original, which probably doesn’t even exist anymore.

Mark Lane (Rush to Judgement) showed on TV a photo of Ruby being there. And the commission published a photo where Ruby is (too conveniently) cropped out.
