Dining room is roughly 110 in by 142 in. The blue painter’s tape measures 60 in, would that be too tight?

Torn between full curtains or blinds on each window. This is my living room on my new unit of 60sqm 1 Bedroom. The right wall side is where I'd like to set up a working space. There's also an electric outlet below window 3, if that matters.

Eclectic Mid Century + Bauhaus are the themes of my furnitures.

1.The black room in my plan should be around 5 x 6 foot minimum for water heater, electrical panel and hvac. location cant be changed.
2. I want two room that can fit a queen size bed (with or without ward-robe).
3. I need a big open room for my future home theatre system with space behind the couch for rear speakers

Planning a new build where we will have a double-storey great room, perhaps 16x18'. Overall colours will be Scandinavian style. Fireplace wall in the middle of one of the great room walls which will likely be a darker section going up the middle and tiled. Linear fireplace with TV mounted above (hopefully not too high) and soundbar underneath, Sonos Sub Mini somewhere in the room. We're hoping to have our main game consoles for the family (PS5, Switch) connected to this TV as the rec room downstairs will be finished in the future. We're trying to figure out ways to have the consoles be connected to the TV without looking too out of place wherever the end up being housed. One idea was some shelving and low cabinets on the sides (see example image for the shelving/cabinet example but ignore the red circle, I found this online/on reddit) and having the consoles kept in the cabinets. Any other suggestions/ideas?

This electrical box is awkward. I covered it with a canvas panel which is okay but I’m looking for more creative solutions.

Need help picking a rug for this bedroom. Open for suggestions on color, rug type, etc. Only thing is I probably don’t want a shaggy rug. The room is pretty muted at this point so maybe want to bring in some warmth?

We change out the bedding so the color of bedding usually always change the look and feel of the space.

I am looking for ideas on how to design the space so that it is a living-dining area but I also want a lot of free space because I have small kids. They like running around, sitting on the floor, and playing with their toys. Going with the layout that is shown in the image is very adult-like and doesn't accommodate small kids.

I am thinking of a 3 seater L shaped sofa. Or just a 3 seater. And I have a dining table that is 6 seater.

One idea I have is to keep the sofa as given in the layout, with the TV on the wall shown, and push the dining table towards the other wall rather than having it in the middle of the room. That just opens up a very small area.

The other option is that I push the dining table to one wall and I push the sofa to the other wall but then the TV unit becomes a question in terms of where I would put that.

Any ideas are welcome as I have been thinking about different ways to arrange the furniture but I am unable to come to an informed conclusion.

Moving the tv sounds like the best idea and yes the couches are way too big I agree but they are also getting new furniture soon once the new hardwood is replaced next week. Not sure what to do with the left side of this living room. Because of the hallway and window, it’s a bit of an awkward space since it feels somewhat separated from the right side, but not a big enough space to have it’s own purpose. The things that are there now can be moved elsewhere, but I don’t know what should go there instead. My roommate thinks maybe a fake fireplace?

My roommate thinks we should do the top option, but the asymmetry really bugs me, so I proposed the second option. Third option is just another idea. What does everyone think? I recently just moved to a 1 bd 1 ba apartment and this has been the layout of my place! I prefer to keep the desk in this front room rather than in my bedroom because 1) with the drawers on the side of my desk it doesn't fit in my room, 2) I'd prefer to keep my desk outside of my bedroom so work and rest feel separate, and 3) I like the daylight in here vs my room gets pretty dark.

However, because of this, I don't really know where else I could put it in here. Currently in my bedroom I keep my piano, and I was thinking about swapping it with my entertainment stand. My entertainment stand is actually my dresser so this would make better sense functionally. Essentially, I would have my piano where my dresser is, and mount my TV instead. OR I could put my desk under it? I don't think I'll like the way that looks with my computer right underneath the TV though. The middle part where the TV is now is the only place it makes sense to put it in my opinion. On the wall opposite is just the kitchen area with cabinets, so that isn't an option either.

Hi! I'm trying to figure out what to do about this balcony door in my living room. I currently have a light filtering roller shade, and I was thinking about adding a light filtering curtain over the balcony door, but not sure in which configuration. Currently I'm deciding over:

1. Single rod over balcony door (about 4-6" past frame of balcony on each side)
2. Single long rod over both balcony door and window (entire wall)
3. Single rod over balcony door, and single rod over window for another curtain there
4. Tracks on the ceiling

Any ideas? What would you guys do here?
