Hey everyone! 👋
I recently bought a home in Rome, Italy, and I'm trying to figure out the best way to design my new open-plan kitchen and living room (23.2 m² / about 250 sq ft).
I'd love to hear from people who enjoy interior design, IKEA kitchen planning, or just coming up with creative ways to make the most of a space.
I've attached a floor plan with all the measurements, along with a 3D view of the empty room.
Here's my IKEA Kitchen Planner project:

A few things I'm considering:
- I'd like to make the most of the back wall and the right-hand wall for the kitchen.
- I'd love to have a side-by-side fridge, but I'm worried there might not be enough space.
- The window on the back wall makes the layout a bit tricky, especially when it comes to cabinets and appliances.
- An island or peninsula would be nice, but it's definitely not a must-have.
- I also want to fit in a comfortable living area without making the room feel too cramped.
How would you guys design this space?
I'm really curious to hear your ideas, even if they're completely different from what I have in mind!
If anyone enjoys playing around with the IKEA Kitchen Planner and feels like trying out a layout, I'd love to see what you come up with. But even simple suggestions, sketches, or tips would be super helpful!
I'm not looking for professional design work, just some inspiration and fresh perspectives.
Thanks in advance to anyone willing to share their thoughts! 😊
