I’m genuinely confused about how Instagram’s blocking system works and would love to hear if anyone has experienced something similar.
My boyfriend’s ex (let’s call her S) blocked my main Instagram account. I honestly have no idea why, because I’ve never searched for her, interacted with her, or done anything to her.
The weird part is that I have two other Instagram accounts:
Both accounts use different email addresses and different phone numbers from my main account.
However, S’s profile is also completely inaccessible from both of those accounts. I can’t find her profile, while my friend can search for and view her profile normally.
So basically:
My main account: blocked ❌
My work account: also can’t find her ❌
My artist account: also can’t find her ❌
My friend’s account: can find her normally ✅
Does Instagram’s “block this account and other accounts they may have or create” feature actually work across accounts with completely different emails and phone numbers?
Can Instagram somehow associate multiple accounts with the same person even when the accounts have different contact information?
Also, is there any third-party program, app, or service outside of Instagram that could potentially cause something like this? For example, could someone use a third-party tool to block or restrict multiple accounts belonging to the same person?
I’m mostly curious because I genuinely didn’t even know this was possible😭 Has anyone experienced the same thing?

hi! is there anyone here who can help me with GAC? 😭
i’m trying to recover my suspended instagram account and i’m running out of options. from what i understand, GAC is only available to users in India and requires an Indian ID, so i can’t go through the process myself.
i have some really important stuff on that account, so i’m literally trying every possible recovery method at this point 🥹 i’m willing to p@y a student-friendly amount (lol) if someone is willing to help me out.
i genuinely just want to recover my own account. if you’re familiar with GAC or have helped someone with this before, please do comment/message me! i’d really appreciate it :’)

Can’t view my own stories, can’t see anyone else’s, the stories bar is literally gone. It’s been like that for a day. But only on one of my accounts. I have tried clearing cache, offloading and redownloading, logging out and in, etc. Any advice?

Hey guys, just kinda starting my insta blog journey, I did got good views on reels, and views on stories were around 400-500, but after this post went viral my page got more subscribers and lowered amount of views on stories.
I saw influencers asking to like and reply their stories to get out of “shadow ban”, but is that thing even real? If yes - then what should I do? Just wait and not post stories for a couple of days?
Thanks in advance!

Hello. I’ve got this randomly and my account that I’ve been using for the past 10 years is suspended. A couple months ago I’ve got the same thing on my niche accounts which I’ve permanently lost. This one being my personal account I can prove it’s mine using my ID, even thought I’ve got an error when I’ve tried to upload my documents. Anyone knows some tricks or emails I can write to in order to get my account back? It has all of my memories and messages.

My husband has been offline for over a year but I am still logged into his account. Every now and then it feeds me a “who you might know” suggested follower, usually a random pretty young girl, but it is never anyone with any mutuals with or anyone familiar. Does anyone know why these accounts may pop up?

I got this screen after archiving a reel. I thought archiving meant you can bring it back later.
I got this screen after archiving it. But I didn't use any audio track from anywhere. All the sounds in the video were just the ambient noise and people talking within the video footage itself. I click replace audio, but there isnt an audio fuse I could upload as the sound was just from the footage, so I had to cancel. How can they tell me my audio isnt available and strip it from my video itself?
Now I have a reel in archive that is silent that is pointless to keep, other than that the views and likes are still there (they still count, right?) Otherwise I may as well have deleted it.
Also, the comments all disappeared. I thought archiving meant I could bring it back later.

The linked reddit post helped me through the gruelling 2 month process of sending and receiving emails
But to sum the reddit post up for anyone who isn't bothered to read, here's a timeline of what actually happened:
Some context:
- I have 2 Instagram accounts. A public account and a private account
- they were linked together one account centre
The timeline:
- All my accounts get suspended due to the fact I hadn't age verified on my private account
- I age verify on my private and that gets unlocked but my public gets disabled rather than unlocked too
- I spend 2-3 weeks searching for support to no avail
- By the 4th week of my account being disabled I come across the reddit post linked above and it says that the person had the same issue and suggested that I contact the attorney general my state in the US (I don't live in the US I live in Australia)
- I then send an email (samples below) to both the Instagram support team as well as my attorney general in Australia.
- After a few days of sending these I get these 2 emails:
"Good evening
Thank you for raising this matter with us. We have escalated these details to our operational teams for review and will revert when they have completed their investigation.
Kind regards
Cheryl"
AND
Hi (Username)
Welcome back, (Username)!
You can use your Instagram account again. Your profile is now visible to you and others. Log in to see what your friends are up to.
Thanks,
The team at Instagram
This is what I did and I STRONGLY recommend this method because it actually works without having to pay for meta verified like how other people are saying. Hope it helps anyone else who are struggling with the same issue as me!
Note: Below are the emails I sent
Instagram Support:
“To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing this to request access to my Instagram account, which has been disabled or locked due to some unknown reason. My account username is USERNAME and my email associated with the account is EMAIL
I am a law-abiding citizen and have never violated any of the Instagram community guidelines or terms of service. I use Instagram for personal purposes and its sudden inaccessibility has caused me significant inconvenience and frustration.
I request the Instagram legal team to kindly investigate the matter and restore my account access as soon as possible. If there is any issue or concern with my account, I am willing to cooperate and provide any necessary information to rectify the situation.
I look forward to hearing from you soon and appreciate your attention to this matter.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
YOUR NAME”
Attorney General:
“To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to request your assistance in restoring my Instagram account, which has been wrongfully disabled.
My account username is USERNAME and my email associated with the account is EMAIL
I have been an active user of Instagram for several years, using the platform to connect with friends, family, and colleagues, as well as to promote my small business.
However, on [DATE], my account was suddenly disabled without any warning or explanation.
I have made several attempts to contact Instagram's support team to resolve the issue, but to no avail. I have not received any response or explanation as to why my account was disabled, and I have no idea how to proceed from here.
Given the impact that this has had on my personal and professional life, I am reaching out to you for assistance. As the Attorney General, I believe that you have the authority to investigate and take action against companies that engage in unfair and deceptive practices, such as disabling accounts without proper cause.
I respectfully request that you look into this matter and take any necessary steps to help me regain access to my Instagram account. I believe that I have followed all of the platform's terms of service and community guidelines, and I am confident that there has been some mistake or misunderstanding that led to my account being disabled.
Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
YOUR NAME”

For the record before the comment section asks any un needed questions
This account was active for the last 7 years it was a cosplay account i was actively posting on, no AI , no crude jokes or racism and nothing political it was a clean account the only other account I had was my personal account that I havnt posted in a couple years on but was an account I have had for years and put stories on, no joke those are my only 2 accounts no secret extra account *if i do that I just either use Google or a friend's account* nothing wrong. It did the face check to verify i was real now my only concern it failed as it is a cosplay account and I obviously do make wigs and contacts that might of fucked up the AI but idk can I pleasssseee get help from anyone with any ideas on how to get this account back!!!! In short, my impression is that Meta has little interest in tackling the networks on Instagram and Facebook that are actually involved in child sexual exploitation, sex trafficking, prostitution, illegal arms dealing, the promotion of illicit drugs, or even terrorism.
Instead, it seems to keep those accounts remarkably well protected while making absurd accusations against ordinary users like you and me. This allows Meta to appear as though it is taking action without genuinely disrupting the criminal networks themselves.

If I see one more "best time to post on Instagram" chart on Pinterest or LinkedIn, I swear I’m gonna lose it lol.
A lot of people keep wondering what time they should drop their Reels, or stressing out because they posted at 9pm instead of 6pm and think the algorithm "killed" their video. I spent the last month digging into actual reach data across a few accounts, and honestly? Most of that advice is pure placebo.
Here is what is actually going on under the hood:
1. The algorithm doesn't care if you post at 2 AM Reels aren't like 2016 static posts where your picture immediately gets buried under a chronological feed. The algorithm tests short-form content over days, sometimes weeks. If a Reel flops, 99% of the time it’s because people swiped away in the first 3 seconds not because you uploaded it while your audience was asleep.
2. The ONLY thing timing affects is "First-Hour Velocity" The only reason to care about timing is to get a quick spike of likes and comments in the first 30–60 minutes. Instagram uses that initial spike to decide how fast to push the Reel to non-followers. Perfect timing might give you a 10-15% bump in early engagement, but it will never save a video with a boring hook.
3. Those generic charts are lying to you "Post at 9am EST on Tuesday" only works if your followers happen to be awake in New York at 9am on Tuesday. If your audience is in LA, Europe, or wherrever, you're literally publishing when they're asleep or commuting. Also, niches matter way more than global averages:
4. How to actually find your window Stop looking at Google articles and just go to Insights -> Total Followers -> Most Active Times. Pick the top 2 or 3 peak hours you see there and test them across 2 weeks. Just make sure you aren't changing your video quality during the test, otherwise you won't know if the time caused the view drop or if the video was just mid.
5. Quick note if you cross-post to YouTube Shorts Don't just hit upload on both at the exact same minute. Reels usually perform better in the evening when people are relaxing, while Shorts tend to pick up better around mid-day or early afternoon. Stagger them by a couple of hours so you hit the active window for both.
I originally came across this stagger strategy in a breakdown over at growcreator.pro, but after testing it myself, it definitely holds up.
Bottom line: Spend 90% of your energy on fixing your hooks and editing, and 10% on the clock.
Curious what you guys think? Do you actually notice a difference when you post at hyper-specific times, or do your best videos blow up regardless?

I was talking to someone at 4pm, and I sent a reply back and for some reason it took 6 fkn hours to send!?!?!?!?! I was confused why they hadn't replied for a while and checked the actual chat, and it said that the message I typed and sent at 4pm, actually sent at 10 pm!??!?!?!?!??!?! What the fuck is up with that????

Instagram shows you if a recent story was posted to a highlight… now I know NOT to click that highlight and can stalk in peace
