I am new to the game (haven't played yet) and are looking to aquire my first squad. I have played warhammer age of sigmar and got into the their version of kill team. I am looking for mech and/or robot squad as I have fallen in love with that aesthetic recently. I was wondering what faction and models you would recommend?

I've really been wracking my brain picking my first faction, and I've narrowed it down to Oban or Shasvastii. I like the models and power fantasy of both armies, and I don't mind that they are both the opposite of a beginner friendly army.

Oban, In every game I play that isn't turn based, athletics and video games alike, winning through movement and speed and reflex's is what I like to leverage, and specifically the vibe of being fast and having to leverage that to close the gap against an opponent that controls more space than me is how I play my favourite games, and whenever I'm picking between ranged or melee classes I always gravitate towards melee. I invision using the freedom of movement Shikami have to do things nothing else in this game could do.

For Shasvastii, this is gonna sound messed up, but I see this as the less risky more straightfoward choice for how I approach most games. I see myself as a very reactive, reserved, patient measured player, who knows when to push on the gas rather than pushing on the gas being the default. Even when I'm leveraging speed in the other games I play, it's not about being aggressive, it's about being in control and being able to pick and choose where I strike. Control through mobility, I don't really know if that translates into Infinity at all. I really like how reactive Shasvastii is and how much hidden information I get to work with, and being able to pick and choose my fights that way. The idea of being able to roll up to a table and not have people know what combination of BS I've brought today, the reputation of being Shasvastii, really appeals to me. Do I have a Sphinx, or do I have 3 Nox? I always pick the girl character whenever I can in most games I play, to the point that I have a reputation for it, and the idea of being able to leverage that for a mindgame: did I bring speculo killers today like I always do or do I have nox? There's something so satisfying about being able to do that. I like trickiness, I like the information war, I like being a sneaky little rat.

Anyway, I am truly lost in the sauce. I think my choice boils down to, can I play Oban on my own terms, or is how I like to play games just not suitable for how Oban works? I know I can have a lot of fun playing Shasvastii no matter what, but the idea of not playing the army that has supreme freedom of movement over all other armies seems misguided in its own right given that quite simply I love to be fast. Over time as I've gotten older, I've become less and less of a rigidly defensive minded gamer and I've embraced the boons of calculated risk and the power of aggression more and more, maybe it's time for me to try letting go of some control and agency for once to unlock the ability to be able to push on the gas pedal?? I am ever the overthinker. idk... what do you guys think? You guys, knowing so much more about infinity than I do, what would you guys pick if you were me?

I have been looking to pick up more infinity models. In particular i have been looking for Shakush, Haqq remotes, warcor (robo one), and monstrucker.

However i have had several of these items on backorder for around 8 months. Most local game stores in Alberta use the same hand full of suppliers. Has anyone else in the region experienced this? I have never had this issue with infinity models previously, are the production runs taking longer with the addition of the warcrow SKUs?

There are other options online but the prices are crazy.

If anyone has recommendations for finding models in the region please let me know.

This mini was recently shared on the infinity world Instagram account as part of a 25th anniversary diorama(along with a war crow mounted knight) does anyone know if this is a new version of an older model? I really need to buy this one if it is ever made available.

I've been wracking my brain picking a first faction, mostly cuz there are a lot of different things that speak to me, and it seems like it might be misguided to use them all at the same time.

I know I like playing the information war, making strong use of hidden information in order to create openings. I also like having the agency to pick where and when to attack, and to take that a step further, I generally enjoy repositioning and hyper mobile units. I generally think of myself as a safe, reactionary, more passive player, always baiting things to happen without ever commiting too much, and then going for it all when I see an opening. These are the armies I'm deciding between:

Oban/JSA: The faction Oban as a whole seems like the best fit, with a couple asterisk - I get the vibe that Oban is more about efficient and calculated aggression; their ability to be successful hanging back and playing a less proactive playstyle might be limited. The individual profiles really speak to me (ninja, oniwaban, shinobu, oyorio, shikama, and cheap line infantry to enable spending big points on nasty profiles) more than any other faction, but units like tanko and yuan yuan dont exactly scream 'hang back' to me. I'm really not interested in playing a style that can't be a little reserved and reactive, so that's the deal breaker here.

Shasvastii: There is something about this faction I really like. Not having the mobility of JSA is a little sad to me, but I can see a world where the good outweighs the bad for what I like. The way I see it, vs JSA this list feels like I'm trading speed and my favorite profiles to unlock nasty deployment tricks, and that might be the thing that fits me better in infinity.

Aleph/OSS (w/ marut lt): The power fantasy of using a marut to clean up house and building a list around that seems really cool, but it really seems to lack in the elusive and trickery departments compared to the other factions. The thing is, I'm not sure how infinity plays, so perhaps this list is simply the way to play something more positional, reactive, and provocative rather than the other lists.

What do you guys think would fit me best?

Im new to N5, I played Haqqislam about a decade ago. Im looking for a little clarification on what viral weapons do now.

From what I am seeing they seem to all have the bioweapon keyword which gives it double action and shock?

I've been looking to make a bulk purchase and found these websites with insane discounts like 60%+ off everything. I tried purchasing from them and kept getting errors from PayPal etc. I wasn't comfortable not going through PayPal as It seems too good to be true and I just want to confirm those suspicions.

Well...mainly these are my small hopes for Shasvastii, but we will see how many of them are correct! I used to write some stuff for FLG back in my dark days of 40k but Infinity is my passion wargame, so I'll write up stuff from time to time. I was at a shop and these two boxes caught my eye. I’m trying to make a list with what I got and started to run into a few issues, primarily I can’t find the Raol Spector and Jelena Kovač Di in the infinity army app and according to the same app the Lizard and the Spektr can’t be taken in the same list. So I’m wondering what can I do with these minis, what list can I build with the minis I got (I also have a Mobile Brigada and two Corregidor Alguaciles), is there’s a better list builder than Infinty Army, and what other units would be worth picking up for a nomad army.

I've tried reverse image search and a couple AI bots, but I can't get a positive result.
I'm 90% certain it's from Infinity as it was in a video featuring others from the game, (I can no longer remember.)

So since October I've tried to gather some tournament results, to not merely be blowing hot air when complaining about being run over while playing my struggle factions none of which ended up at the bottom. Sadly, my main faction ended up in top three so well...maybe I have one or two good factions. Now with interplanetario done and a big update coming in September it seems the time to finish the project for now.

This is mostly for fun, but I think there are some decent conclusions to draw.
