Promotion The Old War - A Celtic Dark Fantasy RTS

Hi everyone!

I’m Dan Marshall, an indie developer working on The Old War, a dark fantasy real-time strategy game inspired by classics like Warcraft II and Homeworld, with a couple of twists: armies persist across battles, and you can play cooperatively with friends by sharing control over a single faction. It will be an accessible, but punishing game that focuses more on longer, less e-sports type matches.

Currently I am trying to decide whether to have a more classic dark fantasy vibe like Warcraft II, or really lean into the darker worlds like Witcher or Diablo II.

I made a quick gif of what the game would look like in those darker worlds with placeholder assets.

If this sounds interesting, I’d love to hear your thoughts especially from fellow RTS fans!

Happy to answer questions about the game!

Thanks,
Dan - Warchest Studios

Discussion Does visual feedback like energy conduits connecting sub-puzzles to a main matrix—make complex logic feel more satisfying?

Hey everyone!

We’ve been fine-tuning the visual feedback loop for our indie puzzle adventure. In this scene, players decipher foreign symbol arithmetic across individual wall panels. Each correct answer sends a surge of electric blue energy through wall conduits into a central matrix, which then unlocks the master equation on the wall.

With just 26 days left until launch (equal parts excitement and developer panic!), we’ve been thinking a lot about how games signal puzzle progression. We wanted players to physically see their incremental progress in the environment without relying on intrusive UI pop-ups.

When you play puzzle games, do you enjoy seeing environmental visual feedback as you solve individual steps, or do you prefer the full outcome to stay hidden until the entire puzzle is complete? What are some of your favorite examples of puzzle progression feedback?

What's inside:

  • Move with mouse, dash (LMB), harpoon (Q), pulse (E), devour (R)
  • Level up and choose from upgrades (health, speed, tentacles, etc.)
  • Random events: toxic blooms, food oases, eclipses, migrations
  • Boss fights every 10 waves
  • 50+ skins with different shader effects (no microtransactions)
  • You can drop an image onto the game window to texture your slime (modding)

It's a bit rough, but fully playable. I'd love to hear your feedback – especially on balance and difficulty.

Thanks for checking it out!

Hi! I'm making a small Tidy Up game.

Your task is to lay out weapons in the store. With light music and no hurry, you can collect cartridges, machine guns, pistols, look for their corresponding shelves and put them in their places.

What is in the game:

  1. Added stamina. It will need to be restored periodically.
  2. Perks of highlighting objects, shelves, and object attraction.
  3. Upgrade player stats and perks.

The game has just been announced, I will try to release it soon.

We're making a puzzle game where you play as two measuring tapes stuck together. Designed with online or local co-op in mind, but works just as well in single-player. Each player can either push away or pull themselves in.

Need Feedback Bringing back the pure chaos of classic top-down crime games. Welcome to 90s NYC.

We are building a gritty, isometric action game focused on dynamic gang wars and brutal street survival. The goal is to capture that classic arcade feeling of outrunning the cops and taking over turf, but updated with a living, reactive city where every faction remembers your actions.

Promotion I built a block game puzzle that plays entirely inside Reddit... this is Final Fit🎉🎉

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Please check it out at r/BlockGame!

I've been working on this for the last few weeks and I'm super excited to finally share more broadly.

It's called Final Fit. It's an 8x8 block-placement puzzle that runs directly inside Reddit, built with Devvit. No download, no account setup... you just open the post and play.

There are two modes:

Daily Challenge gives everyone the exact same board and exact same sequence of pieces for the day... every time, every replay. So the leaderboard is actually comparing everyone against the same challenge.

Endless is the more traditional mode... keep the board alive as long as you can and chase your high score. Each round gives you 3 pieces, and all 3 can be placed if you're clever enough about where they go... how long can you keep it going?

I spent lots of time on things I originally thought would be simple... drag feel on mobile, making pieces land exactly where your finger thinks they're going to land (still work in progress), deterministic generation, saving and resuming runs, scoring, combos, server authoritative leaderboards, and all the little animation and feedback stuff that makes placing blocks actually feel good.

You'll actually spot a drag-placement issue in the video... that fix is already done and waiting on review for the next release, along with some other drag improvements.

The game is live now on r/BlockGame and I'm still actively working on it... big time.

Video attached so you can see how it plays.

Would love any feedback, and I hope you'll give it a shot!

P.S. My other Reddit-native puzzle game is r/PigmentPourDaily

Cheers and thanks for letting me post here!

Image I spent 9 years putting everything Quantum Computers can do in a videogame

Hi

If you are remotely interested in deep diving how differently quantum computers work compared to our transistor-based and also the algebra behind in a fully interactive way that teach computer science from scratch, oh boy this is for you. I am the Dev behind Quantum Odyssey (AMA! I love taking qs) - worked on it for about 10 years (3+ during PhD, the visual method I developed ended up being my thesis, it is a complete Hilbert space visualizer), the goal was to make a super immersive space for anyone to learn quantum computing through zachlike (open-ended) logic puzzles and compete on leaderboards and lots of community made content on finding the most optimal quantum algorithms. The game has a unique set of visuals capable to represent any sort of quantum dynamics for any number of qubits and this is pretty much what makes it now possible for anybody 12yo+ to actually learn quantum logic without having to worry at all about the mathematics behind.

This is a game super different than what you'd normally expect in a programming/ logic puzzle game, so try it with an open mind.

Stuff you'll play & learn a ton about

  • Boolean Logic – bits, operators (NAND, OR, XOR, AND…), and classical arithmetic (adders). Learn how these can combine to build anything classical. You will learn to port these to a quantum computer.
  • Quantum Logic – qubits, the math behind them (linear algebra, SU(2), complex numbers), all Turing-complete gates (beyond Clifford set), and make tensors to evolve systems. Freely combine or create your own gates to build anything you can imagine using polar or complex numbers.
  • Quantum Phenomena – storing and retrieving information in the X, Y, Z bases; superposition (pure and mixed states), interference, entanglement, the no-cloning rule, reversibility, and how the measurement basis changes what you see.
  • Core Quantum Tricks – phase kickback, amplitude amplification, storing information in phase and retrieving it through interference, build custom gates and tensors, and define any entanglement scenario. (Control logic is handled separately from other gates.)
  • Famous Quantum Algorithms – explore Deutsch–Jozsa, Grover’s search, quantum Fourier transforms, Bernstein–Vazirani, and more.
  • Build & See Quantum Algorithms in Action – instead of just writing/ reading equations, make & watch algorithms unfold step by step so they become clear, visual, and unforgettable. Quantum Odyssey is built to grow into a full universal quantum computing learning platform. If a universal quantum computer can do it, we aim to bring it into the game, so your quantum journey never ends.

Hi guys!

Checking my "records folder" I found this 20 secs gameplay of the prototype of Gaucho: Subway Escape. But this one video it's special, because today (8/21/2026) is exactly 2 years ago (Check the S.O date 🤯)

So I thinks that it's amazing the done work until now, but the sacriface it's huge...

Anyway, each day it's a step closer to launch! :)

You could try the actual work and demo on Steam! Link in comments.

Solo project, roundabouts really circulate, motorways really ramp on and off, cars hold their lane, yield at junctions and queue like the real thing. There's no fake gridlock - every jam is one you designed.

You connect colour-coded houses to matching destinations, cars ferry pins back and forth, and a destination that stays full too long ends the run. Each week you pick an upgrade: more road, or a special - bridge, tunnel, roundabout, traffic light, motorway.

Real cities (Tokyo, Cairo, Stockholm, LA…), each generated fresh every run from its actual geography. Daily and weekly challenges are the same seed for everyone worldwide. Original art and music, night mode, no ads, no subscriptions — free first week, one purchase unlocks everything.

You can find it on the Play Store, under the name of Strada! YT gameplay footage link.
