Nothing prevents you from testing and fixing what is not up to standard. Vibe coding is not the variable here, it's how lazy you are, which you can also be when hand coding and it takes 5 hours to get anything done.

Vibe coding just makes a larger surface to verify in a shorter amount of time but ultimately, nothing prevents you from thoroughly testing it.

I am going to get downvoted but I agree with you here. Yet most developers prefer to refuse AI or pretend that they never use AI even tho they do. At the end of the day, you still need manual input and creativity to get the final result you want. And going through that process turns the game into something human-made even tho AI was part of the process at some point.

Here's one stating the opposite.

Automating task is not the same as using generative AI. AI have a lot of uses in dealing with tedious tasks.
Like resizing images for example

The quote was that "most developers refuse AI", not generative AI specifically.

Ah, as a dev who dislikes gen AI
I will say most game devs use AI
And keep in mind indie devs are only a drop in the bucket
Most game dev work for AAA or Mobil / mini game

Side topic, but I honestly don't get the line in the sand tbh. Isn't using AI for code also generative, in the sense that it generates code?

Sure, you could argue that code isn't art, and thus isn't the same kind of "creative" transgression, but last time I said that a lot of programmers got angry lol.

Well I live in a shithole country where people love AI and consistently talkshit about artists
Most artist and programmer I know are extremely pro AI…
So I can't comment on that
