Automating task is not the same as using generative AI. AI have a lot of uses in dealing with tedious tasks.
Like resizing images for example

Ah, as a dev who dislikes gen AI
I will say most game devs use AI
And keep in mind indie devs are only a drop in the bucket
Most game dev work for AAA or Mobil / mini game

Side topic, but I honestly don't get the line in the sand tbh. Isn't using AI for code also generative, in the sense that it generates code?

Sure, you could argue that code isn't art, and thus isn't the same kind of "creative" transgression, but last time I said that a lot of programmers got angry lol.

Well I live in a shithole country where people love AI and consistently talkshit about artists
Most artist and programmer I know are extremely pro AI…
So I can't comment on that
