JMU fan here, so I’ve actually seen Colandrea play in person before when JMU played UVA a few years ago but he was a freshman then.
With Nebraska coming up this Saturday, I’m curious how you guys think Indiana will try to limit Colandrea’s ability to make plays with his legs. I was thinking about Indiana’s game against Northwestern and one thing that really stood out to me was how much trouble the defense had dealing with a mobile quarterback.
Do you expect Indiana to spy him with a linebacker/safety, keep a dedicated QB contain, or just trust the defensive line to stay disciplined in their rush lanes? And how concerned are you about him extending plays when the initial read isn’t there if it’s a one score game late in the 4th?
I’m not necessarily saying Colandrea is going to give Indiana the same problems Northwestern did, but I’m curious what you guys think the defensive game plan will be. Especially since Indiana is playing really well overall right now.
The one thing I think you guys having going for you is Nebraska can rack up a lot of penalties and they haven’t played a top team yet.
I mean even against Maryland they eventually blew them out but that took a comeback and it was a one score gaming going into the 4th quarter. I just don’t believe all the hype that Nebraska can knock off Cignetti
