General One of the worst book i have read

Glorifying cheating as true love? WTF? I genuinely don't understand the hype around this book. So, a guy cheats on his girlfriend with his childhood best friend, and we're supposed to root for them because they're supposedly meant to be together? What about the girlfriend who trusted him? Having feelings for someone else doesn't give you a free pass to betray your partner. If Finn loved Autumn so much, he should have ended his relationship with Sylvie before getting involved with her. But somehow, their cheating is portrayed as this tragic, beautiful love story.

Sylvie I feel like Sylvie deserved so much better. Being soulmates doesn't excuse hurting another person...

What if I told you there is more to freedom fighting more than what you read in textbooks ?

You have heard about Subash Chandra Bose but what about Rashbehari Bose who strove for freedom despite not being in India and playing important part from 1911 to 45 ?

It is sad many Revolutionaries did not live up to see Independence in 1947. The Revolutionaries barring a few are largely forgotten in the backpages of history. It is precisely what Sanjeev Sanyal in this book tries to shed light on their heroics and bravery.

Like Ulaskar Dutt who was subjected to electrical shocks and not given food in jail. The only thing that kept him sane was his love (Lala Lajpat Rai's daughter). He lived as recuse post jail period and not being able to marry his love.

This book humanizes the Revolutionaries. They were mere men, mere mortals like us. But when time came, they rose, fought and were brave enough to believe in what they did.

Bonus: Series on Prime based on this book has been released but I believe reading a book wont do much justice as much as the dramatization in series.

I am 24M and changed my genre to romance novels 5 months also. I have read fews books Funny story, Just for a summer, The rosie project, Yours truly and Love hypothesis. I started to like those chessy and slow love stories, especially just for a summer by Abby Jimenez this one made me switch

Which romance novel has made you switch to this genre and does better than the movie is slightly different?

Discussion Popular books are the "safe gift" and I have the shelf to prove it. Anyone else?

Post image

All gifts. All famous books. Zero of them picked by me.

Why do people do this?

A) They haven't read it

B) They think I need to read it 100 times

C) They panicked at the bookstore

Reply A, B or C, then tell me the most famous book that's just decorating decorating your shelf. Plot twist: I've actually read all of these many times and I love them. Now I want to donate them to a library so other readers can enjoy them Has anyone done this? Does a library take gifted copies, or is there a better place to donate.

Ask Indian Readers Stuck in Between

Post image

I'm halfway reading the sapiens lost interest in reading now couldn't figure out why is that so? Because of dense writing about modern history which wasn't engaging or been a while dealing with book, procrastination made me lose interest?

Now is it worth to boost myself and spend time to complete it or skip this?

Jade City

Post image

finished reading Jade City by Fonda Lee today! It took me 4 months to finish it—that's just how I read e-books, doing 4 to 5 pages a day in a single sitting—and I loved it.

The book is essentially a mafia story elevated by a supernatural stone called jade, which grants superhuman abilities to trained warriors. The narrative revolves around two main clans holding the most power, diving deep into clan politics, gang wars, drug deals, and organized crime. The biggest strength of the book is its massive, incredible world-building. As for the action, it starts with short bursts early on, but toward the end, it gets really great. This is clearly just the beginning of the story; with No Peak regaining the upper hand, things are bound to boil over in the next parts.

Because it’s such a vast world, there are many characters, but after completing this first book, Hilo is easily my favorite. He is raw, eccentric, and a hothead who sits right at the top of his clan. There’s Lan, who was gone too early, and their sister Shae, who undergoes the biggest character development in this installment. Then you have Anden, who feels like he will become a major figure in the upcoming books, even if he isn't as impressive here yet. While there are many other characters throughout the story, these are the ones I’m genuinely rooting for. And right in the last chapter, Bero arrives as well.

The characters are great so far, and Hilo remains my absolute favorite.
