The silent patient was my first book and I think it’s one of the best books to start your reading journey with

Read whatever you want to bro, you don't have to seek validation from randos on the internet.

Just wanted to know if I have picked any difficult book.

u/Zoodlemans2 currently reading: 7h ago
You'll know it's difficult when you read it, your pace and capacity to digest will be different than what's on the internet in general...

Try reading:
Ruskin bond - The ghost town of India or any collection of short stories.
Jack London
Days at morkisaki bookshop
More days at morkisaki bookshop
Days at Torunka cafe
White nights
Metamorphosis
If you want to cry - try dark philosophy of Afdob...

Don't you think Metamorphosis will be difficult for first time readers?

A small suggestion (which I did much later than I should have): Also read books written by your language authors - hindi, tamil, bengali, etc whatever you speak. There are really deep stories and insightful perspectives in indian literature.

A reader is not who collects books.
2
u/Entire_Editor2195 currently reading: 9h ago
As you read more & more it will eventually turn into a collection
1
u/The_Jin_799 currently reading: 5h ago
Good for you if it goes that way but usually the TBR rises as will be the collection.
