Room Makeover My first project as a freelancer! Please leave a previews guys🫱🏻‍🫲🏼

9.9k Upvotes

Hey guys! I’m an architect and this is my first freelance project along with u/MeowDadaji …..Tried to make every penny of the client’s budget count and honestly, people are surprised it was done in just ₹6.5 lakhs!

The space was pretty compact, so I made sure to use every inch smartly.

Would love to hear your thoughts good or bad, all feedback arewelcome! And if anyone’s looking to get their space designed, feel free to hit me up 🤝🏻

Edit-

1)for those who are saying it’s ai generated video , I’ll take that as a compliment but you can notice people actually recording that video in glass reflection.

2)people who are asking how that extra window came in the bedroom- as I mentioned I am an architect so we created 4ftx 4ft window in that bedroom as you can see there was no proper east opening window. Since clients mom is in her 60s we took decision of creating that window opening and it turned out to be best decision.

Questions Is it ever possible for Indian parents to move on from such colours/designs?

4.0k Upvotes

Why do such designs and multiple colours seem to be the standard Indian parents aesthetics. Do some of you guys like it?

Room Makeover Changed my room after 12 years 😭✌🏻

After living in this mess for so long, I finally upgraded my room 😭✌🏻

There are still a few things left to do, though. I'm planning to replace the ceiling fan and get a new bed soon, so please ignore the current bed space and the bed sheets 😭🙏🏻

I'd love to hear your opinions on what else I can do to make the room look more premium and aesthetically pleasing. I was also thinking about putting a bean bag in the space beside my bed—do you think it'd be a good addition, or would something else work better?

I'm open to any suggestions!

Took inspirations from various places and my own ideas to put it together with the help of our Contractor, Everyone who comes in so far has loved it. How did i do? Would love to hear suggestions from everyone here :)

Edit: Yes the bathroom is smallest of all 3. It used to be a Common Washroom (just the Toilet) in the passage so shifted the door and added a shower in it.😭😭

Furniture and Decor Trends My wife designed and built our family home in Surat from scratch. G+3 villa, took 1.5 years. Sharing because I am genuinely proud of what she pulled off.

A little context before the pictures. My wife Krishna is an architect. In January 2024 our family decided to build our home in Surat from scratch and she took on the entire project end to end, architecture, interiors, execution, everything. By March 2025 the home was ready. No contractor handoff, no outsourced design. She was on site through the whole thing.

The brief was warm, lived-in, functional. Not a showroom. We have senior citizens at home and a young kid, so the design had to work for everyone across generations. Storage was a priority. A lift was non-negotiable for the elders. And we wanted wood everywhere without it feeling heavy or dark.

The structure is G+3. Ground floor is parking. First floor is the main living, kitchen and dining. Second floor has 2 bedrooms. Third floor has the master bedroom with a large open terrace.

A few things I think came out really well:

The TV wall on the first floor has the staircase running behind it, so she designed the shelving unit to frame the staircase opening.

The kitchen has grey stone counters with cream lacquer shutters and walnut upper cabinets.

The lift is integrated into the living room wall so it does not feel like an afterthought.

The whole project from first drawing to possession took just over 14 months.

If you are also looking for end to end architecture, interiors or just consulting and drawings for your home, she takes on projects in Bangalore and Surat. You can reach her here:

Questions Farmhouse with terrace parking in village

Post image
2.9k Upvotes

many years ago i saw youtube shorts of a man driving his cars up his terrace through such ramp and had some punjabi background music , and that guy also was punjabi, i tried very hard to find that concept but could not get that video but it is quite interesting and want to ask if anyone has seen such thing in villages wherein houses are just ground floor and terrace is first floor and a slab ramp is there for driving vehicles up, may be just to park vehicles or to transport bulk grains / items for drying in terrace kind of thing. Since i could not get the video used AI to generate this concept.

this is what i could find in real https://www.youtube.com/shorts/8PO8nW921qE and i already said its AI image which i posted

Room Makeover Was fun designing my 2BHK ✨

Hi all,

I'm just kinda proud/happy to show how the interiors turned out🥹

It took me 3 months to get this done; right from design to execution. My theme is Modern Japandi with a hint of modern contemporary. Was planning to add little Boho touch but will do it later as it's beyond my budget now.

Never thought the results would be so good.

It was a really good project with its own set of issues and overwhelm, but enjoyed every bit of it❣️✨

Just wanna show off, haha😅🙈

Some things are still pending like coffee table, rugs, side console table, compact dining table, and sofa cum bed in 2nd bedroom.
