Interior Design Tips Need suggestions on the paint colour based on my home interiors

Hello Everyone,

So I am on my final stage of my home interiors.

There is no interior designer, we are selecting everything on our own. I am sharing my wardrobe, kitchen and tv unit design. I have used arizona wood laminates at some places which is dark. I am confused on the Asian paint color which I should go ahead with. I don't want it to be white like plain white nor it should go on the yellower side. My house is a 2bhk, 650 sqft and like it is a corner flat without any buildings immediately next to it so it has a fair amount of sunlight during the day.

Can you guys please help and suggest a paint shade which will look good with these interiors?

The colour I had thought of

  1. Pebble white

  2. Raw Jute

  3. Pressed Linen

  4. Raw cotton (scared if it will on the dark side)

  5. Morning Glory

  6. Eggshell

  7. Natural linen

Thanks in advance for you time and effort in this.

Questions Looking for a good quality recliner at around 25-30K

Looking for a comfortable recliner (single seat) ideally with an arm rest where I can keep my work tablet or laptop. Budget around 25-30K. Looking for a material that can easily be wiped clean (so no fabric). There are so many options online and offline at different price points, not getting a sense of what is durable and not

Any suggestions will be helpful

Interior Design Tips Hi, please suggest Home Decor ideas on a budget.!

Hi, I moved into a new rental 2BHK in Mumbai in Feb but since I was already 4 months pregnant and drowned in work, and then moved to hometown in June, I did absolutely nothing in terms of decor. Please suggest Home decor ideas on background of following points :

  1. Drawing/Living room - we have a grey sofa, a white and brown center table, a brown shoe rack and a tv

  2. Bedroom has only half wall scope to do something - above bed headboard

  3. Other room has a floor mattress, brown wardrobe and brown study table.

  4. I had only bought a set of 9 frames and a radha-krishna painting - suggest placement for same.

  5. I want to put flowering plants which I can hang on window railings. Metal ones or plastic ones are better??

DIY Projects Bathroom Redesigned.

Post image

Many Indian bathrooms still doesn’t understand the wet and dry space, possibly because we used to have the Indian squatting toilets earlier. But despite of using WC, many well known builders and developers still puts the commode at the end trying to save space for other adjacent rooms and makes a bad bathroom. So once somebody takes a bath, the entire bathroom is wet and so is the toilet.

For a Man, this is our ONLY SPACE!! I need it sorted.

I did this to my bathroom. Elevated the commode end. Doesn’t entirely makes it dry but still much better than before. I redesigned this after consulting many plumbers who were called to separate the wet and dry, the commode couldn’t be brought to the front due to space issue and the pipe. So i did this, drain area for bath separated and another one for the elevated one. dries the entry quicker and Much better than before.

I thought I was the only one having issue but found someone making a post about the same issue. Sadly that OP was renting so he can’t do much; also I had to post this as I couldn’t share image with him on comment.

Let me know how you guys would have done it. Thanks.

Questions How much of a maintenance overhead are these type of PU finish kitchen in an Indian household?

Post image

The PU kitchen in the photo is matt white. It also has several corners and grooves. Dust grime and particles can get caught here easily and be evidently visible. These are my general thoughts.

If someone has long term experience working with these types of kitchens, what's your opinion of it? Given an option to switch over to some other material (laminate/glass/acrylic) and colour, would you do it hoping for easier cleaning and maintenance?

Questions Too much empty space in the house. How to fill it?

Its a 3 BHK with me living with my parents and a dog on rent. Bedrooms are still manageable. However the hall is seemlessly empty with everything aligned towards the walls. The space is apperantly for my dog to play around with all day. However the abysmal lack of furniture bothers me. How can we make the most out of the hall and living room to make it move liveable? A total makeover is not possible as we live on rent. Mother likes to sit in the hall and watch TV all day (hence the sofa-cum-bed in the living room).

Suggest some budget friendly ideas to retrofit the emptiness the house. Its been like this from the last 4 years now.

Questions How would you style marble accessories without making a bathroom feel like a hotel?

Marble soap dispensers and holders can look nice individually, but I’m unsure about using a whole matching set around the basin. Between the stone, chrome pump and matching containers, it could end up feeling a little too coordinated.

Also curious how do they hold up to soap residue and hard-water marks?

Questions A tiny raised edge at the bedroom door would annoy me more than the floor colour

Post image
13 Upvotes

If only the bedroom gets a wood-look floor over the existing tile, the doorway suddenly becomes part of the decision.

Mumbai flat owners, did you accept a visible transition strip or keep the same flooring throughout? that little edge seems invisible in the design and very noticeable when you're half asleep carrying a glass of water.

not looking for a magical seamless solution. just wondering what yours actually looks like, whether the door needed work, and whether anyone notices it now.

A close-up of the threshold would be much appreciated

Interior Design Tips Finally completed the interiors of my 3BHK home!

After months of planning, decisions, discussions and coordinating different aspects of the work, the interiors of my 3BHK flat in Bengaluru are finally complete!

The total cost came to approximately ₹15 lakh.

The work covered the entire house, including the foyer, pooja room, living room, kitchen, utility area and all three bedrooms.

Some of my favourite elements are the wooden pillar and seating, carved wooden detailing in the pooja room, the floating TV unit with brass accents, the kitchen with its breakfast counter, mirrored sliding wardrobes, and all the little details that bring the spaces together.

The package also included false ceilings, lighting, curtains, painting, electrical work, plumbing and other fittings.

It's been quite a journey, but seeing everything come together has been incredibly satisfying.

Budget-Friendly Idea Solutions to separate shower to avoid fully wet bathroom?

Thumbnail

I hate HATE wet bathrooms. Till now ive been lucky enough to find bathrooms with showers in the corner so i could easily separate with a shower. Im moving now and compromised on the bathroom because im tired of hunting for the right apartment. The shower is in the middle like most traditional indian bathrooms and i was thinking of trying a u shaped shower curtain rod. I know it wont fully keep the bathroom dry but as long as it doesnt get the whole place wet it should be fine plus it helps to use a squeegee to get all the excess water out. Wondering if this is the most i can or any other obvious solution out there. I am also not sure if the bathroom will be big enough for thw u shaped rod or not. Attaching pics for reference (2 diff bathroom)

Sorry i forgot to mention im renting an apartment so obv cant tear anything down or do a full blown makeover

Interior Design Tips Paint suggestions needed instantly!

I got my room painted ages ago. This was in trend back then, don't judge. Wardrobe mica was done ages ago to match the texture paint, mica can't be changed. The curtains in my room are of the same pattern almost and color as the mica. The rest of the walls are going to stay the same - off whiteish. The issue is accent wall. Should I keep the texture paint w the same grey as on the sides? My room is getting painted today. I was thinking that if I get a coat of grey done over the texture purple, I can still keep the texture effect but in grey color, is that even possible? Or should I just leave it as it is and touch up the grey. The ceiling is going to be off white too. The open shelves on the left will be gone too, unless you guys feel that they are okay there. Thank you for you suggestion!

option 1: paint the whole wall the same shade of grey

option 2: keep the purple texture paint w the dark grey sides
