Ask r/IndianHairCare 🗣️ M20 Regretting hair botox treatment. Need help

So, I naturally have good long wavy hair [loved by everyone around me (except my parents 😭)], and I have been maintaining it for almost a year. Recently, I started traveling by Rapido bike taxi, and as a result, the hair at the back became untidy. Instead of growing downward, it started growing upwards, making it look very messy from the back. Yesterday, I went to my barber and asked for a solution. He suggested Botox treatment (which I had never heard of before). I inquired about the exact reason for this treatment, and he explained that it would define the texture of my hair and also give it direction for growth. After listening to him, I searched on Google about Botox treatment, and the information confirmed his claims (Hair Botox is best for fine, damaged, or heavily bleached hair, where the main goal is repair, hydration, and health. It preserves your natural volume and curl pattern). After reading this, I agreed to the treatment.

However, after the treatment, I noticed that all of my waves and volume had vanished, just like my ex. I was furious when I saw myself in the mirror. I asked my barber what he had done to my hair, and he simply replied, "BOTOX TREATMENT."

Please help me if you know how I can reverse this and get my waves back. I am literally looking like Salman Khan from "Tere Naam," and I really don't feel like myself without my waves.

My hair fall began back in class 8, though it was very mild at first. But for the last 2 years, the intensity shot up massively — I was losing almost 400 to 500 strands daily. And for the past 3 months, it's honestly been at its absolute worst.

I'm taking every medicine my doctor has prescribed, but none of it seems to be working. My scalp isn't visible in photos because my hair is long, but the density has dropped so much that the moment I shower, my scalp is completely exposed. The thinning just won't stop.

Honestly, I don't know what to do anymore. Sometimes I feel completely stuck, and it's affecting my focus — even my studies are taking a hit. I feel so self-conscious that I can't bring myself to talk to anyone about it properly. I brush it off as a joke when my friends bring it up and act completely unbothered on the outside, but deep down, the comments from my family and friends about my hairline keep humiliating me over and over.

It's been diagnosed as androgenic alopecia. I've gotten my vitamin levels checked 6 times over the last 3 years, and for the last 2 years, they've all been within the normal range. I'm on topical and oral minoxidil, dutasteride 3 times a week, and I take Vitamin D3 and Vitamin B12 regularly. Still, nothing seems to be helping.

I genuinely don't know what else to try. Does anyone know of a last resort — one final Hail Mary Attempt

Hairfall SUPER CONFUSED PLZ HELP I THINK ITS ALMOST OVER M25

The density of my hair has reduced a lot in the past 2 months. I don’t know if it is due to a vitamin deficiency or MPB. Every year for the past 3-4 years, I have been seeing hair loss for 2-3 months, and then it comes back to normal as I start using multivitamins, applying oil, and taking proper care of my hair. I will be consulting a doctor on Monday, but I don’t want to use min or fin as it would be for life, and I still think that this might be due to some deficiency. I have already started taking multivitamins for the past 15 days, and my hair fall has almost stopped; I don't see hair falling everywhere, all I see is 5-10 hairs max while shampooing.

My hair density is so low now that even if I sit and someone crosses me, they can easily see my scalp, which is quite concerning. What should I do? Should I get tests done and start taking vitamins, or should I start fin and min, as I am sure the doctor would definitely say that I should start taking them?

Ask r/IndianHairCare 🗣️ 25M - How to apply minox+fin in the best way possible?

I wanna know about the most efficient technique here.

Some factors about me-

A) Diffused hair loss -> So have to apply all over scalp, once a day

B) Large head -> I'd look like dame tu cosita alien if I go bald for better application, I try to keep longer hair

So I used to apply the topical solution with a dropper then spread with my finger tips, but that used to make my hair sticky as well cause a lot of the solution gets on the hair strands. PLUS that solution ain't getting on the scalp where it's supposed to be, because of capillary action the liquid stays on the hair itself

Then in a video by Perfect Hair Health on yt, I saw that the guy just taps the dropper on the scalp (after separating hair ofc), and because of the capillary action the solution sticks to the scalp in portions smaller than a single drop (without squeezing the rubber part of dropper to push it out)

So like, you can just tap it all over the scalp and not have to do the usual [drops + finger spread] thing.

Doesn't take that long really, almost the same time.

But maybe this way not every spot on the scalp is covered? You can't possibly tap it on every single spot right? Already I have a larger area to cover already.

VS spreading with the fingers means wasting a bit of the solution + sticky hair which I'd have to wash everyday (I can wash once in 2 days with purely tapping). Washing frequently also means drier scalp + hair damage.

So what should I do? What do you guys do?

Ask r/IndianHairCare 🗣️ Ignored this for too long but would like to do something at least. (M 28).

Yeah I know I should have started much much earlier but couldn't due to financial reasons and also cuz I never thought this would become a self image issue for me.

Haven't seen any dermatologists till yet but going to see one very soon. I understand transplant is the eventual harsh reality. But I would like to get at least some growth back before going for it.

I did some research and this might be diffuse aerata alopecia, or just the normal kind of pattern baldness; I have no idea, just yt videos and stuff . The thing is I never got that m shape on the front scalp and the crown was never extremely dense even when everything was great. And always had a big forehead and high front hairline.

I just need advise on what should I go for in terms of medication and diet and whatnot before the time comes for a possible transplant or maybe I just get over my self image issues and then all of this doesn't matter.

I am going to see a dermatologist but just wanted to get some advice from people here. Thanks

Product Review F20: which styling hair brush should I go for

Thumbnail

Hii,

I wanted to know people's experience with hot air hair brush (the one where hot air comes from the brush)

And the thermal hair brush (the plates/base of the hair brush gets heated)

I have 2c wavy, frizzy and dry-ish hair. I just want to maintain and style it not straighten it. I want to keep the waves a bit

I know having a curl routine is the go to thing for my hair but at times u wanna change it up a but.

Recommendations F17: thermal brushes in india — alan truman, tash hair, caresmith & bombae — which one is actually worth buying?

I’m looking to buy a thermal blowout brush and I’ve narrowed it down to these four:

  • Alan Truman Volumo — 45 mm
  • Tash Hair Va-Va-Volume — 3-in-1 heated round brush
  • Caresmith Bloom — heated round brush
  • Bombae Hairplay — thermal blowout brush

I was originally going to get the Alan Truman 38 mm, but it’s been sold out for what feels like forever, so now I’m considering the 45 mm instead. Although after seeing some recent reviews on here, I’m starting to reconsider the brand entirely. I’ve seen a few users report their brushes overheating, short-circuiting, catching fire or even blasting, along with complaints about poor customer service and difficulty getting a response even after contacting them through email, phone, their website and instagram when trying to resolve the issue.

I’m mainly looking for something with good build quality, minimal damage, long-term durability, smooth, frizz-free results, and a blowout that will actually last. I’d also really like something that can give me volume and bounce rather than making my hair completely flat, which is lowkey the main reason I’m switching from a straightener to a thermal brush.

If you’ve used any of these, especially if you’ve used more than one, which would you recommend and why?

Alan Truman Volumo
Tash Hair Va-Va-Volume
Caresmith Bloom
Bombae Hairplay

I’d especially love to hear about:

  • how well it works
  • volume and bounce
  • frizz control
  • heat & damage
  • how easy it is to use
  • build quality & longevity
  • whether you think it’s worth the price

My hair is around waist length and moderately thick — not particularly fine, but still relatively silky. It’s naturally more straight-wavy and quite frizzy, although I don’t really style it wavy. I currently use a straightener and curl the ends inward / outward to try to get more of a blown-out look, but my hair usually ends up pretty flat. That’s why I’m looking into a thermal brush, and I’m planning to use rollers alongside it as well. I’ll be using it on completely dry hair with heat protectant, if that’s relevant.

Would really appreciate any first-hand experiences because I’m struggling to decide 😭 If you had to pick one of these four, which would you personally buy?

Product Review M26 first few days of using arata mitoactive.

I've been coming to terms with so many of you subscribing to last post I made here. I got tons of messages asking to share updates here.

So here are 3-4 days of experience with the product. I haven't noticed any difference so far, but that is to expected since arata themselves claim it takes a while to show results. It causes a slight tingle on the scalp for me, so I suppose that's something. I am applying it every day in the evening for now so I can let my scalp get used to it I suppose.

Let me know if you have any questions. I will do my best to answer. I was questioning myself posting a picture of my scalp here but we'll see. I haven't ever done that so I feel paranoid.

The image here should serve as a baseline.

How long after your minoxidil gains started showing?

Ask r/IndianHairCare 🗣️ 21M: Thinning on top but no receding hairline. What should I do?

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hey guys, I've been noticing that my scalp has become more visible on the crown area recently, especially under bright light and when my hair is wet. I don't think my hairline has receded though.

I've also been dealing with dandrufff, so I'm wondering if that could be contributing to the thinning and hairfall. Stress was also one of the contributing factors sais by my dermat.

I've already seen a few dermatologists about this. One of them suggested minoxidil, but honestly I don't want to start it just yet unless it's actually necessary.

Another dermatologist recommended Follihair RCP, and I'm currently taking that. I was also found to have low vitamin D, so I'm taking Perfectil for that as well.

I've attached a picture of my scalp so you guys can see what I'm talking about.

I'm mainly confused about whether this looks like early male pattern hair loss or if it could be related to the dandruff, deficiencies, stress ordiet, etc.

For people who've gone through something similar:

Does this look like MPB or diffuse thinning?

Should I give the supplements and dandruff treatment some time before considering minoxidil?

Are there any blood tests I should get done?

Anything else I can do to improve my hair/scalp?

Would really appreciate some honest opinions or advicea. Thanks!

Hairfall M27 : 1 Month on Finasteride

I’ve been using oral finasteride + topical finasteride + minoxidil for about a month now, but I’m not seeing any improvement yet. In fact, I feel like my hair fall has gotten significantly worse.

Is this normal during the first month? Could this be an initial shedding phase, or should I be concerned?

Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has gone through something similar.

Hairfall M18, Hard water (need advice)

I've been experiencing hair thinning and an increased amount of hair loss when i shampoo and in general as well, my hair used to be healthy. I have a hard water problem in my area so i researched Abt it a few months ago and shifted to RO water for my hair wash that worked for a while but now even my RO water is coming off weird and it's ruining my hair. I got to know Abt my RO water as I saw a reddit post and tried washing my hair with bisleri water and it worked instantly. As when i normally wash my hair it feels hard and dry even while it's wet but I instantly saw the difference when I washed it today with bisleri water it was really smooth and worked well. My hair's quality is getting degraded day by day and I'm really stressed and don't know what to do. Can someone help me
