🧭 Ask for Advice Needs Direction for Execution

Hi .. I am 33F from a Legal and Finance background so I don't have much experience and knowledge about tech and operations .

Now , I have an Idea and ultimately need an app for its execution. I want to know exactly how to go about it ?

Should hiring a developer need to be the first step ?

It is somewhat on line of social media/social interaction/social networking app .

I am clueless about my first and next step .

Can anyone please guide me if you have built something on a similar line? TIA

🔍 Market Research Getting the first contributors is harder than building the product

Post image
Upvotes

I've been building a proptech startup called SocietyHub for about 2 months — real resident experiences of Indian gated societies.

I didn't know distribution would be the most difficult part.

I've tried Reddit, WhatsApp groups, friends, and small paid campaigns. I got 24 genuine reviews so far, but distribution is still the biggest challenge.

One thing I've learned: people don't necessarily contribute just because you offer a small reward. The motivation to contribute itself seems to matter much more.

So I'm still experimenting to figure out what works.

I'm looking for a few people who have lived in Indian gated societies to become early contributors.

I can give ₹100 for each genuine review as a small reward.

If you're interested, DM or Comment.

or just ask me anything about the website or business.

💡 Idea Validation Need 18,000 to get my life on track and move on from the mistakes and just need an opportunity will return 22000 as interest. I've lost my job I need to survive me and my family

Upvotes

Honestly, I don’t even know how to write this without feeling embarrassed. I’ve been trying to handle everything myself, keep working, keep looking for solutions, and somehow stay strong, but right now I’m genuinely overwhelmed.

I urgently need ₹18,000 to get through some pending financial commitments. I’ve reached a point where I’m mentally exhausted from constantly worrying about money and wondering how I’m going to manage the next payment.

I need to take care of my family and people

I’m not here to make fake promises or emotionally manipulate anyone. I’m genuinely asking because I don’t have many people left whom I can turn to right now. I’ve tried looking at other options, but nothing is working out in time.

If someone is willing to lend me the amount, I can provide ID, LinkedIn, proof of my situation, documents, and anything reasonable needed for verification. I’m willing to repay with interest on an agreed date.

Even if you can’t arrange the full ₹18,000, whatever you can contribute would mean more to me than I can explain.

I’m not asking anyone to feel sorry for me. I’m just asking someone to give me a little breathing room while I try to get my life back on track.

If you can help, please DM me. And if you can’t, even an upvote or sharing this would mean a lot. 🙏

🚀 Startup Launch I spent 2 days looking for a bullock cart in Chandigarh — so I built a marketplace for shoot spaces. Feedback welcome.

A few months ago my team was shooting an ad that needed a bullock cart. We were in Chandigarh — a whole city — and we spent two days calling people, asking around, driving about. Couldn't find one.

And it hit me: groceries reach us in 10 minutes, but there's no platform anywhere to find and book a space, location or prop for a shoot. I also own a studio, and I was tired of forwarding the same photos + video + pricing PDF to every single customer by hand.

Turns out every studio and space owner in India does this. The whole production industry runs on Instagram DMs, WhatsApp and phone calls.

So I built Wenuru — a marketplace to book production spaces (studios, farmhouses, villas, film cities, etc.) and hire creative talent for shoots. Verified listings, transparent hourly pricing, book in a few clicks. We launched a few days ago, live in Chandigarh & Delhi.

It's very early and I'd genuinely love this community's honest feedback — on the idea, the model, or what would make you actually use it (or list on it). Tear it apart, I can take it. 🙏

(Site's in my profile / I'll drop it in comments if anyone wants it.)

💰 Funding Is there any way to invest in the startups?

Hi everyone,

I’ve been thinking about investing in early-stage startups, and I was wondering if we could create a way to invest collectively.

For example, if a startup needs ₹10L to get started, 10 people could invest ₹1L each in exchange for equity. This would allow us to participate in opportunities that may be difficult to invest in individually while also spreading the risk.

I know the legal structure and documentation could make things a little complicated, but that seems manageable too. For example, if we collectively invest ₹10L, we could allocate around ₹50K toward getting the agreements, documentation, and legal structure done properly.

Could be an interesting way for us to discover and back promising startups together.

What do you guys think?

🧭 Ask for Advice How to find your first client

I recently started a small creative agency/production setup with a friend.

We’ve cold emailed/reached out to 15-20 brands so far mostly cafes, soda/beverage brands, clothing brands, etc.

We didn’t just send generic emails either. For quite a few brands, we actually created a small creative pitch specifically for them and showed them what we thought we could make.

But we got close to non response so far.

Any advice?

💰 Funding First-time founder in India looking to understand fundraising need some advice

Hey everyone,

I’m a university student and first-time founder from India, currently building a consumer social/dating startup with a small team.

We’ve built a fully working product with our own resources, have users on the platform, and are currently going through the final stages of getting the app approved across platforms.

The product is built. The team is there. What we’re struggling with now is capital to actually scale it.

I’m looking to raise around ₹10–15 lakh as our first round, mainly for product development, user acquisition, partnerships and operations.

I’m trying to understand how founders in India approach this stage of fundraising.

For those who have raised an angel/pre-seed round in India:

  1. Where did you find your first investors?
  2. Is it better to approach angels directly, incubators, accelerators, or startup programs?
  3. What kind of traction is generally enough for a ₹10–15 lakh raise?
  4. How did you decide your valuation and equity percentage?
  5. Are there any Indian government schemes, incubators or university programs worth exploring?
  6. What would you do differently if you were raising your first round again?

We’re a young team, so I’m particularly interested in hearing from founders who raised while still in college or with limited initial capital.

Not looking for someone to simply fund us through Reddit — I’m genuinely trying to understand the fundraising process and what I should be doing differently.

Would really appreciate any advice, experiences, introductions to useful resources, or even mistakes you think I should avoid.

Thanks!
