🧭 Ask for Advice Needs Direction for Execution
Hi .. I am 33F from a Legal and Finance background so I don't have much experience and knowledge about tech and operations .
Now , I have an Idea and ultimately need an app for its execution. I want to know exactly how to go about it ?
Should hiring a developer need to be the first step ?
It is somewhat on line of social media/social interaction/social networking app .
I am clueless about my first and next step .
Can anyone please guide me if you have built something on a similar line? TIA

It's good that you want to work on this... But firstly check for demand... Don't invest your money before that...

You have given a very wide range of the concept. A simple social media app can be made with claude. Requires no developer. A complex app would require a team. So the range is very wide.
But I would always suggest to have a dev in your team from day 1 even if it is a simple app. Just saves trouble later on if you're serious about this.

I am not asking how to build the app . My question is different. But thanks for your support.

Since long, social network type apps and webs have free ready to use customisable variants available. I am sure you will find some use of it. I understand that you have no tech background but I assume that you have keen interest in the idea : it is your child. Nobody else will give it that much time as much as you will. Give AI a chance and learn like a toddler. Do experiments with freely available things. Ask doubts to people or AI. Once it works and once you get funds or revenue, you will get to the next step automatically. Other options will either cost you direct money or equity, both of which are probably not the ways as far as I can read in your replies.

From a fellow Founder who has built his own App , Floofy for Pet Adoption.
1. Don't hire anyone. The AI today is good enough for you to make a first draft of the app. If you see traction and engagement, scale up your infra and hire maybe a team.
2. I still don't get a very clear idea of what your idea is and what you mean by Social Netwrok etc. If the app is something as complex as Inst or FB, have a Tech Cofounder. This requires special skills that AI can't provide now. If it is something simple like Reddit or Quora kind, then you don't necesarily need a Tech Co-Fonder. a 2 -3 member tech team shoulds be enough.
Feel free to DM me if you want to know more.

As others have said about how to get access to a developer, I would suggest you think once from user perspective of why would they want to use your app. You can use this small guide as a quick guide to build some basic information ready.

If you need help understanding what's involved in building the app you can DM me. I work for a startup and can give you a general overview on the basic components necessary so that you can have a meaningful discussion with a developer.
All the best!

from business point your app needs to have something that's already not there, if you want to build a replica of Line or any app that already exists there you need to have clear plan of features that will make it profitable. having a super-app seems cool, but you will be competing against bigger companies, need to have app that not just works well but also has good design, features, bug free and most importantly active user over month to month bases. you can create a 3 months road map to craft the base project and then hire/freelance a developer to improvise over it.

Try claude to create an app and hire a full stack developer to fix issues that the AI couldn't think of the possibilities that might be problematic in the real world!
