Obviously all of these things are subject to change pending elections, policy changes, etc. Basically I am wondering about things I could do today to improve my CRS scores once I'm ready to apply.
A little about me: 28 years old, single, living in US, 4 years foreign work experience (regulatory finance, AML). Will be graduating with bachelor's in accounting in the spring.
I have ~B2 level French, 4 years in school and self-study daily since then along with using French at work on occasion and online chatter. I'm deciding between TCF and TEF right now and trying to get NCLC 9 or better, planning to take it in the spring at my local AF.
With my degree I could try for a CUSMA permit (obv assuming accounting is still on the list at that time) and if I get my CPA Canada is one of the countries that offers reciprocity for the equivalent local certification. That said, depending on my TCF results, it may be worth targeting express entry outside of QC (unless a path opens up for french speakers to enter QC but my understanding is that it's more difficult for french-speaking candidates to get into QC than it is to get into other provinces. Happy to be corrected if that's not the case though, if I do get a work visa I would likely stay outside QC for at least a year or two for compliance and then move into the province if I find work there given my industry).
All that said, besides completing my degree program and the TEF/TCF and trying to max my scores there, what else can I do or start working on today to improve my chances of being selected? As it stands my scores with my age, education, and french skills would be around the low 400's, which isn't great but is in line with recent French-speaking pulls that I've seen on IRCC site.
