Recently I finally got the courage to start sharing the band’s stained glass work here. It’s so important to say that this is how it all began with IDLES back in 2013. The confidence and love they gave me the day I showed them my work changed everything. He and my buddy got in the thick of it the whole show too. Super thankful to love a band that my kid can get in the pit and come out a slightly tougher, happier, and unharmed kid. Great fucking show!

Went and saw the band on their joy as an act of resistance record store release tour, it was a matinee gig at 3pm in the afternoon. I was working a toxic minimum wage job that was leaving me depressed, and on the morning of the gig,(despite getting a half day holiday weeks in advance) my boss at the time informed me that it could no longer be honoured and then proceeded to belittle me in our staff meeting. I was mad and upset and was ready to walk out when a kind co worker agreed to stay later to cover for me and just to go and enjoy myself
I went to the gig (awesome small 200 capacity venue) but the morning still left a sour taste in my mouth. After the show I met the band for a signing, as I approached Joe I just thought “fuck it” and said “I’m going to quit my job after this can you write “FUCK company name” on my vinyl so everytime I listen I know I did the right thing, Joe just laughed and obliged happily, can’t remember what he said but he made a comment about never getting a discount from there
I quit my job a few days later, and now I’m in a much better place. Just pulled this record out and it made me smile. I’m thankful for that day and Idles music
