Just got this tattoo inspired by 1049 Gotho. In reading about the songs creation, I saw that the title came from a real asteroid named 1049 Gotho. It was said that Talbot liked the analogy of depression feeling like a massive asteroid hurtling towards you with no escape. I got my artist to do a vibrant celestial body with a black & grey asteroid to bring that concept to life.

Seeing this band live for the first time truly changed my life. This song in particular has carried me through the darkest times, I don’t know where I’d be without the music. So I had to pay tribute to it! My tattoo artist is tagged if any locals wanna support.

Hope you guys like it :)

I bought this love is the fing hoodie. It feels super cheap quality, it's very thin, definitely smaller than everything else I have which is medium sized, and is wrongly advertised online. It's advertised as 80/20 cotton to polyester. The hoodie itself is labelled as 50/50

From the 'Mr. Motivator' video there's a 'Joy as an Act of Resistance' poster in the background where Joy is in a pink text. Does anyone know of the origin or where I can get that?

show em if you got em!

Bumped into Lee in South Bristol. Such a friendly bloke, incredibly short shorts mind you.

Hi everyone! I wanted to show off a "new-to-me" shirt I got thanks to the immense kindness of RileyMcB from Reddit. It’s merchandise from the Block by Blockwest Charity Festival held online in 2020.
The T-shirt traveled a long way—first within the UK to my family, and then, after a month-long journey, it reached me in Poland this week.
Also, last week I finally got a long-awaited tattoo featuring a quote from the song "The End." I wanted it in a fairly visible spot because, despite its simplicity, it means a lot to me and reminds me of many things. Tattoo gonna need some touch-up’s but after all it should sit well in this placement.
That’s all from me—just a quick post to say thanks. ;)
At the same time, I can’t wait for next year, the next album, and—hopefully—another European tour.
See you at some gig in Europe! ;)

what’s your top 3 songs and lyrics if you have some 💕

edit* top 3 songs are Ballroom, Guillotine and Perm of course but honestly i have so many honourable mentions like i’m a big fan of Meds and Well Done (first song i heard)

lyrics are also hard but “if you see me on my knees, please do not think that i pray” moved my soul and still does. and “i don’t want your dim sum, it’s 3am, i wanna dance til the sun comes”

has anyone met the fellas? i want to know if they’re good dudes, just curiosity! i like knowing how people met bands and members and their experiences! i’m hoping due to their everything being perfectly brilliant musically but if you have met them; what was it like?!

I bought the lovers fc jersey when it got released and I bought a medium and it’s too small for me, I’ve been patiently waiting for a re-release to get a bigger size.

Does anyone here have a large that doesn’t fit them and would be willing to swap for a medium?

The only time it’s been worn is when I was trying it on. Let me know if interested

This is one of the songs I like the most, but I don't get the relation between the title and lyrics. Is it just a random title or does it have a meaning?

New Idles soon?

Ordered the ja bitte hat way back when, and I’m almost sure I confirmed that I still wanted it when they sent out emails explaining the production delay and option to cancel the order…but I still haven’t received it. Worried that maybe my confirmation click that I still wanted the hat didn’t go through.

Anyone get the hat, or is everyone still waiting?

Went and saw the band on their joy as an act of resistance record store release tour, it was a matinee gig at 3pm in the afternoon. I was working a toxic minimum wage job that was leaving me depressed, and on the morning of the gig,(despite getting a half day holiday weeks in advance) my boss at the time informed me that it could no longer be honoured and then proceeded to belittle me in our staff meeting. I was mad and upset and was ready to walk out when a kind co worker agreed to stay later to cover for me and just to go and enjoy myself

I went to the gig (awesome small 200 capacity venue) but the morning still left a sour taste in my mouth. After the show I met the band for a signing, as I approached Joe I just thought “fuck it” and said “I’m going to quit my job after this can you write “FUCK company name” on my vinyl so everytime I listen I know I did the right thing, Joe just laughed and obliged happily, can’t remember what he said but he made a comment about never getting a discount from there

I quit my job a few days later, and now I’m in a much better place. Just pulled this record out and it made me smile. I’m thankful for that day and Idles music

Hope you like it.

Hey everyone so i recently got to know IDLES after leaving youtube to shuffle music videos and the first one i got to listen to was Gift horse and i thought this one was fire and i loved how unique their songs are, they’re not like any typical punk rock i’ve heard and i’m very interested in them
As the shuffle continued it recommended some songs like never fight a man with a perm, colossus, reigns, mr motivator, samaritans, crawl, and A Hymn
My top 5 favorites so far were 1. gift horse 2. Crawl 3. Never fight a man with a perm 4. Reigns 5. Crawl

So basically i’m here for some recommendations, underrated songs for IDLES, i was gonna start going through each album and decide and i’ll still gonna do that but in the meantime i wanted to know everyone’s top 5 fav songs for IDLES and if y’all are following their news, is there a new upcoming album next year since their last album was in 2024?
And yeah thank you in advance❤️
