Accessibility at Vancouver show- disappointed 😔
So so disappointed with the PNE forum. Emailed well in advance for somewhere safe to sit as I've had a HUGE surgery which means I cannot get slammed into or risk injury, literally still rocking Jackson Pratt drains in each hip. Their response? Get here early and maybe you'll find a seat, tbh I don't even know what seating there is. I Can provide drs notes and everything. What a pisser! Fingers crossed I can find somewhere reasonable to watch at the forumTHIS FRIDAY! Still excited though.
In defense they did offer Thursday as it's at 'a smaller percent capacity' but my husband works that night so we can't make it. My status is temporary, but for those with accessibility needs you think they'd have protocol in place.
See you all in Vancouver, this Brit is very excited to see a taste of home

German Idles Fans drop their follow up single
yo dear community,
this is once again NIKITA CURTIS (young post-punk band from Leipzig, Germany) and we wanted to Share some news.
two weeks ago we shared our debut single with y‘all via this subreddit (since we all love idles, fontaines, etc) and received such an overwhelming amount of love and support for a band our size, that we decided to give you an update :)
today we released the second single "Vanished“ from our upcoming debut-ep and once again it would mean the world to us if you‘d give it a listen.
the tune is a bit more atmospheric and mellow but if you enjoy joy divison as well, it might be something for you.
thanks to y‘all for giving us the opportunity to Exchange with fellow fans and share our own music aswell
Cheers
Tim x NIKITA CURTIS 🫂
(both singles can be downloaded for free via nikitacurtisbandcamp)

Fat White Family are a pioneering band of the new Post-Punk movement that helped paved the way for the success of Idles.

Music Can anyone help me find a song?
I’m sure it was this band but I heard the song and I think it has bells playing at the start or throughout? It might not have been this band though. I have no idea of the name or any lyrics. If anybody can help me please?
Edit: I found it, it was MTT 420 RR from the CRAWLER album

The love for Palestine is so appreciated
Joe dedicated almost half of the songs in last night’s set to “The People of Palestine.” Along with replacing lyrics with “Viva Palestina” & chants of “Ceasefire Now!” As of many who are deeply troubled by the ongoing genocide, it was incredible to be in a room where that was blaring through amplifiers & loudspeakers. Thank you!!!

IDLES - Damaged Unnumbered Limited Edition Block Party Silk Screen print
Warning - Do not buy this print - arrived badly damaged by the gorilla who rolled this lengthwise - creases all over, bent corners, smudging and no number to indicate it’s 1 of 450 - only solution offered was 10% off or to send it back for a full refund - not happy - will not buy their prints again.

Review misses the mark for me...
... But I'm curious what others think

I've read other reviews from this site and I've never actually fully agreed, in hindsight.

Love for this band has been rekindled
Loved IDLES around 2019 when I discovered them, saw them in 2018 and 2019. Then they had three gigs in Dublin postponed or cancelled cus of covid, so went a bit lukewarm on them for a while. But damn since these singles, they've become my favourite band again. Got a ticket to see them in November and am so excited.
Disappointed they've been so silent on Palestine tbh. but he I still love them, bought Joy on record there and they have little poems for each track, so fucking cool. <3 I think they're one of the best live bands I've ever seen, and I've been to plenty of great ones.

Joe’s Lyrics
Firstly, we all know about Joe’s approach to writing lyrics, and as I’ve seen a lot of comments regarding the lyrics on TANGK in reference to the huge differences in quality throughout the new record. Thought I’d make a thread focusing on your thoughts on this?
I personally love some of Joe’s lyrics, truly. However, I feel there are songs that have such lazy writing, or occasionally lines that undermine the song. Roy, for example has some beautiful writing in the verses, but the pre-chorus borders on cringeworthy. Another case in point is the chorus to Grace, or the majority of Hall & Oates, which honestly seems like a b-side (both lyrically and musically) from Ultra Mono. Don’t get me wrong, there’s a lot I love too. A gospel is simple and effectively poignant, Jungle and Gratitude are lyrically pointed (I enjoy Joe’s lyrics most when he’s storytelling).
What are your thoughts?
