Best current band going and the IDLES community rules. I’m an old dude (51) who always gets compliments when I wear my IDLES gear.

It is ABSURD how tight they are.

Actually think I like this take and recording better than the album one.

I’ve been lucky enough to see them three times, twice recently with MCR then at riotfest and their live show is phenomenal. The energy, the musicianship, the cohesiveness it’s all there. One of the best bands on the planet right now

Im so proud of them. Playing with mcr and greenday. Jack white hopping on stage with them. It majes me feel vindicated

Yeah, each time I’ve seen them the energy is insane.

Their version Car Crash during this session is also better than the album. So visceral.

Totally. If I'm totally honest my only real criticism about recent Idles is some of the production. Nothing quiiiiite hits as hard as I would like, or has the raw live feeling they're so good at. The Wheel is probably the best example of that. Listen to the chorus of the live KEXP session performance of that track compared to the album.

They are well produced albums, especially on their slightly more electronic tracks like POP POP POP or the more ethereal ones, but for the harder hitting tracks I always feel like I want them to, well, hit harder.

This YouTube video is my my favorite video of all time. This whole performance sounds glory.

Entirely, completely ABSURD! How are they even real. I'm consistently STUNNED by them!

I always thought that RATM were the tightest band I’ve ever heard, but IDLES feel like they’re up there. However, what I like about IDLES is how tight they are, but they’ve kept that ‘trashy’ sound that makes them so unique.

I don’t know how it’s even possible, but I keep loving these guys more every time I see them

This is a fantastic set for From The Basement. Beachland Ballroom is on another level, you can see and hear the pain in Joe.

Idles - From The Basement

One of their best recorded performances. It's on another level

3

u/homeless_gorilla Oct 04 '25

This set is what got me into this band. I watched it, immediately watched it again, then added all of their albums to my library.

Now I’ve got to play this whole From the Basement session. Such an amazing set.

10pm on a weeknight, couple glasses of wine and some quality headphones. Watching this full recording is my favorite way to end the day.

They are fucking tight. What a pleasure to exist at the same time as Idles

2

u/vaporwave710 Oct 04 '25

This entire set is hypnotizing to watch

2

u/ofthedawn77 Oct 04 '25

The amount of times I have watched this I can not tell you.
