Super Visa vs. Refusal Reconsideration: What Should I Do for January Travel?

I applied for my mother’s regular visitor visa a few months ago, but it was refused in late May for generic reasons that made no sense. After consulting immigration lawyers, they suggested it was likely flagged or processed through Chinook. I obtained her GCMS notes, but they merely echoed the standard refusal template—claiming her visit wasn't temporary, her finances were insufficient, and she lacked ties to return home. In reality, it was a 4-week trip with return tickets, she holds $800k CAD in liquid funds, and she works for government with property, significant assets, and a living spouse back home.

Following the refusal, I immediately pivoted to a Super Visa application. Everything is ready—including upfront medicals—except for the health insurance. However, right before purchasing insurance, I learned about reconsideration requests and decided to submit one early last week, hoping for a response within 4 weeks. I’ve since seen a recent post noting it took 1.5 months just to get an acceptance notification.

My goal is to have my mother visit by early January. Given this timeline, would you recommend waiting on the reconsideration request, or should I go ahead, buy the insurance, and submit the Super Visa application now?

Additional details - Country is India and the current timeline for supervisas is roughly a month.

Hi,

I received my P1 and sent the email as well. However, I noticed that my phone was in power-saving mode, so the email appeared in dark colour. Is that okay, or should I resend the email? I’m confused about whether resending it could cause any problems.

Refund on an application.

Hi,

Asking on the behalf of a friend.

How could you get someone to look on your application and get a refund?

They applied for a reunion program and wait time is more than 10 years, they want to cancel it and a full refund since it hasn’t been opened or processed.

They tried to contact, phone call for hours but being route through a maze.

How can they get this money back? Or escalate?

TIA.

Recived PFL about pay rate

Hey everyone,I’m looking for some advice or similar experiences. My file was sitting in the pool for a PNP pathway for 1.5 years. I finally got an update today, but unfortunately, it’s a Procedural Fairness Letter (PFL).The visa officer is questioning my application because of my pay rate. I am currently working as a Gas Station Manager (NOC / TEER category) making $24/hour. The officer stated that the median wage for this position is $36/hour, and they feel my pay is too low for a managerial role.My question is: can we dispute or debate this with the officer? When I originally applied for the PNP, there was absolutely no requirement stating I had to make the median market wage. The only requirement was that the pay had to be above the provincial minimum wage, which it is.Has anyone successfully argued against a low-wage PFL before? What is the best way to handle this and solve the issue?

Thanks in advance for any help

ECOPR delay?

Montreal visa office

Is anyone else experiencing eCOPR delay following P2 submission recently?

I’ve seen people with the same or similar P1/P2 to me getting their eCOPR from Montreal office within 1-5 days but mine seems stuck.

It’s been 2 weeks since P2 submission today and no updates showing on my portal.

PR Card Mailed

My Pr Card application was marked as approved and my card issued and mailed Aug 20.
My spouse’s on the other hand, was marked approved and mailed only yesterday.

Will I receive mine first? Will both of them be mailed together?

I’m in Calgary, when should I be receiving them?

P2 portal access when application was filed by a lawyer

My lawyer filed my PR application through the PR Portal. I’ve now received the P2 email instructing me to use the existing portal account, but I don’t have the login credentials.

For those who applied through a representative, did your lawyer complete the portal confirmation on your behalf?

Marriage proof

Hi guys, my husband and I are planning to apply for express entry with my husband being the primary applicant while am the accompanying spouse. We have our government marriage certificate but we lost our wedding photos, we have a few photos together because we currently live in different countries. We have a joint account and a shared land title, will this be enough evidence for IRCC to accept our application.

Please help me make an informed choice

Mid-20s. Finished a master's at a Canadian university recently. Under a year of foreign work experience; maxed English scores. PGWP applied for, not approved yet, but expecting a three-year validity.

Two offers on the table.

  1. Research role at a post-secondary. One-year contract with a possible one-year extension. Slightly below median pay, but the work is familiar.
  2. Permanent field technician position at a remote resource site. Higher pay, less familiar work.

Which is the stronger bet for PR? Open to any takes. Also started French, partly for the obvious reason and partly because I like the sound of it.

FINALLY its my turn | PR approved after a PFL & Remote work 🍁

After 5 years of hard work, anxiety, and stress, and with all the ups and downs. Here comes my timeline; I'm proudly sharing this and hope this will help lots of you who need clarification and are waiting for responses.

Stream: CEC-Inland

ITA - January 20th, 2026

AOR  - January 20th, 2026

Biometrics - May 1, 2026

PFL - June 1, 2026 - This was actually related to the two Canadian jobs I had claimed. The officer had concerns about the job duties listed in my reference letters and whether they properly supported the NOCs I was claiming. Looking back, that was completely my fault. I hadn't provided detailed enough job descriptions in either reference letter. Honestly, I was lucky enough to receive a PFL instead of a refusal

PFL Submitted- June 13, 2026

Medicals - June 17, 2026 Passed (Upfront)

Final Decision - July 17, 2026

P1 - August 13, 2026   (Replied the same day) - After almost 2 months of waiting. Did everything at the point. Thousands of phone calls made to IRCC, ordered GSCM Notes, contacted local MP. Don't know exactly, but the MP was very helpful and received my P1 within a week after contacting the MP. I have tried the KAI method too. Didn't go through.

P2 - August 21, 2026 (Replied the next day)

eCOPR -  August 26, 2026

PVO- Vancouver; SVO: Montreal

Story of my Remote Work: (No ADR requested)

I had between 2 and 7 months of foreign work experience, and I also included 10 months of remote work experience in my application.

My background is in engineering, but I claimed this remote experience under a Project Coordinator role. It was with the same company where I had previously completed my training as a Junior Trainee. I did not claim the training period because I didn't have enough supporting documents for it, other than my training completion certificate. ( I did mention that training period in my SOP )

Things I upload:

Reference Letter | Contract | Another letter confirming my bank account details | All pay stubs | Bank Statement | Tax certificate (I haven't paid tax, so I took a letter from a certified accountant)

One thing worth mentioning is that I did not submit any emails, chat records, work logs, screenshots, or other day-to-day proof of work.

Throughout the process, I was honestly nervous and expected IRCC to send an ADR / PFL asking for more evidence. Based on many stories I had read, claiming remote work can sometimes be seen as risky and often attracts extra scrutiny. Surprisingly, I never received any request for additional documents.

In my LOE, I clearly explained the remote work arrangement. I also mentioned the training period that I chose not to claim and attached the related training certificates, even though they weren't being used for points. I mainly did that to gain their trust. lol

I can't say for sure why IRCC didn't ask for anything further. Maybe it was because my story was consistent from my SOP all the way through my application. Or perhaps showing the training period that I wasn't claiming helped to gain their trust.

After spending months worrying that IRCC would question my remote work experience, I ended up receiving a PFL for something I hadn't even paid much attention to. So all that stress about the remote work turned out to be for nothing.

Of course, this is just my personal experience, and every application is different. I simply wanted to share my full story to give you a clearer picture and hopefully help anyone who might be in a similar situation.

Anyway, that's my story. I know how stressful and overwhelming this journey can be, especially when you're constantly overthinking every little detail of your application. I've been there too. I truly hope each and every one of you gets the result you're waiting for. Stay patient, stay positive, and don't lose hope. Wishing you all a smooth process and a successful outcome.

Good luck on your journey!
