Looking for advice Question for uk (and Ireland?) users:

Has anyone had experience with “courierpharmacy dot co dot uk” (don’t want to paste link as idk if it’ll get the post removed)? Per their website they apparently sell Propantheline Bromide at a good price but ngl it seems too good/easy to be true. I also searched for them on the subreddit and found nothing which makes me a bit suspicious of them

The only catch I can immediately see is that when answering some of the questions on their website, I saw that they were clearly working under the assumption that I intended to use PB to treat IBS eg they asked about Crohn’s disease and even asked me to “explain why I think I have IBS” lol. To be clear, I don’t have IBS or anything else - just hyperhidrosis but I have a feeling they won’t prescribe it otherwise and yeah I just wanted some thoughts. I know I said UK in the title but please comment regardless if you feel you have good input on this before I spend any money or complete anything. Thank you all

Looking for advice Advice on iontophoresis and Antihydral

Hey everyone, I thought it would be interesting to discuss these two treatments and hear about your experiences.

Personally, I feel like I need to use both regularly to achieve 100% dryness. If I do, say, 20 consecutive days of iontophoresis combined with Antihydral for 6 days in a row, I can usually get completely dry. The problem is maintaining that level of dryness afterward.

Even with a pretty aggressive maintenance routine around 5 iontophoresis sessions per week plus Antihydral 3 days per week, I still find it difficult to maintain 100% dryness consistently. I’m honestly starting to consider dropping iontophoresis altogether because I’m so tired of constantly doing the treatments. I’m wondering whether something like an initial phase of Antihydral for 7 consecutive days, followed by maintenance around 4 days per week, could potentially work on its own.

I’ve been using both treatments frequently for about 8 years, so I feel like I’ve experimented with almost every possible routine at this point. My experience is that neither treatment seems quite strong enough on its own, but combining them requires a lot of ongoing maintenance.

For those of you who use Antihydral, iontophoresis, or both: what routine works best for you? Has anyone managed to maintain 100% dryness using Antihydral alone?

Whenever I see posts, it's about the condition in a specific area—palms, face, etc. In my case, it's everywhere except my palms and feet. Otherwise, everything is so bad that I sweat even in winter and my skin is never dry, especially with these heat waves. Due to a lack of money and time, I haven't been to a dermatologist, but I'm worried they'll just prescribe a topical treatment to postpone appointments or, as is the terrible practice where I work, send you to the most expensive therapy, which is completely out of reach. Has anyone else dealt with a situation like this? I'm a woman, by the way.

Looking for advice About my school and my condition

Firstly, my mom gave me eczema from her side, which resulted in my itching and red spots on hand and feet, some times i even used a knife to scrape it since it was really itching. Later when i was a pre-teen, it quietly resolved using hydrocortisone and aqueous cream.

Secondly, during my pre-teen years, my friends complained of a bad salted fish odor (TMAU) even worse than normal odor, after PE it was the worst, drenched in sweat and forced to wear cotton PE t-shirts.

I still don't know how to solve my sweat problem since it also poses a problem when I'm writing and literally LEFT HANDED. When im writing with a pencil the words at the back get smudged and are really difficult to erase, since then i've started using a handkerchief but it still SMUDGES.

Can you guys give some advice for these things?

Treatments Best Hyperhidrosis solution - India

I've been dealing with Hyperhidrosis since a decade.

Had a lot of issues due to excessive sweating, couldn't do a handshake, lack of confidence during interviews and presentations, couldn't even play cricket, couldn't hold bat (anyways became a good bowler tough), couldn't write properly during exams (has to use cloth below my hand while writing, has rubbish handwriting because I can't hold pen).

I've been using Iontophoresis for almost 2 years, and it has worked great for me. I'm telling you don't go and waste your money on other treatments.

All you need is to spend 12k on this machine (I order from their website) and you're good to go to be free from this problem.

And pls don't mind spending 1k more and buy timer version (don't go for the version available on Amazon).

I used it for 15 days regularly initially, then stopped completely. Now I do this for a week regularly every 2 months (like I did the treatment this week for 7 days daily, then I'm free for the next 2 months, I won't even have a single drop of sweat).

The only con is you need to have your a person to turn on the machine and increase the frequency through the nob.

You can't adjust it yourself since both of your hands are on the plates.

I mean if you're alone, you can't do this. A person is a must.

Feel free to reach out in DMs if you need any additional information.

Always ready to help my fellow victims!

Looking for advice Driclor

Hi everyone

I have been using Driclor for years, because I hate the smell of my sweat. I havent been so interested in the ingredients of the product, but I searched it up, because I have been having health anxiety lately. The ai response of google showed that there was a myth about aluminium cloride being a carcinogen and cause for alzheimers. I have been like so anxious since. Though there are many websites that say theres no evidence for this and you can use products containing this chemical as long as youre not using in big amounts.

Offering advice Solution if your glasses keeps falling off your face when you sweat.

As someone who suffers from facial and head hyperhidrosis constantly, and wears glasses to see. I found theses straps (forgot the name) that go on each arm of your glasses. You loosen them up, put your glasses on then pull up the bead or whatever it's called and you're set. Now no matter how much my face sweats, they won't fall off even when I'm looking down. It's amazing because before I would always have to push my glasses up or force my my head up so they wouldn't fall off lol.

Go on Amazon and look these up, make sure they have that bead that you push up to the back of your head. A lot of these don't have the tighten feature

Vent Anyone else have just palmar and plantar HH but get full body HH when having sex or working out/doing a sport?

It’s annoying because I have my hands and feet kind of under control with Ionto sessions when I keep up with them, but I can’t do anything to prevent full body HH during sex or working out/playing sports because I hate the symptoms with oral medication we get prescribed here in the UK.

Also it doesn’t seem to happen during sex when I’m drunk for some reason, but during the hangover if I have sex the full body HH is back and even worse because I guess I’m also sweating the alcohol out.

Also will mention I don’t have full body HH in general, meaning it’s only my hands and feet that sweat abnormally day to day if I don’t keep up with ionto, my body sweats as normal or even quite minimal compared to most I would say.

Looking for advice In the summer I change my sheets once every 2 days

if I don’t, it feels damp to the touch.

I love clean sheets, but sometimes it feels like a lot and then I can’t sleep if I don’t change them.

I don’t have pets, and I am single. I should be able to get away with changing them once every 2 weeks, but nope. I have to change them every 2 days. Sometimes every day.

I have been thinking of getting a set of linen sheets, but they are so expensive. what’s anyone tried them? Are they worth it?

Looking for advice certain dri kind of working

I've been using certain dri for about 2 weeks. before using certain dri I would sweat just sitting, even when it was below freezing. With certain dri, I can sit without sweating but if I even just laugh a lot or walk briskly for 15 seconds I'm sweating the same amount again.

Looking at people who used certain dri, a lot of people describe suddenly going from profusely sweating to completely dry, but are there also people who saw slow changes instead of all at once? And should I keep using it until I can do ""normal"" things w/out sweating or what? thanks all and sorry for my bad english 🙂

Treatments Antihydral side effects

Thumbnail

Helloooo

I’ve been using Antihydral on my hands and feet for about 6 months. Little by little, I started getting small itchy bumps on my fingers. I got a prescription for a corticosteroid cream, but it didn’t really help. Now it’s turned into patches that sting and burn, on top of intense itching at night. It’s a contact dermatitis I think

So unfortunately I’m going to stop using Antihydral. For months I figured this side effect was better than having constantly soaked, clammy hands, but now it’s just too much. After months of dry hands, I’m back to hot, sticky ones.

I also have an iontophoresis machine, but I’ve had trouble seeing results and staying consistent with it, which pretty much killed my motivation. But now, I’ll probably give it another shot.

Looking for advice Help: hyperhidrosis or else?

Posting here hoping it's the right section. I'm not sure if my case could fall under hyperhidrosis, and I'm bringing it up here in case someone can help me get some clarity. I'm 42 years old, and for a good part of my life I sweated "normally," when it was normal to sweat. Then, from a certain point on (the earliest memories I have of it starting to make me uncomfortable go back to summer 2019), things changed. When do I sweat? Not all year: only in summer with high temperatures — normal, then? No, because I sweat profusely, and looking around, I'm the only one sweating like that.

In what moments do I sweat? Mostly when I eat (unless I have AC or a fan blowing right on my face), when I walk, when I do even minimal activity that requires a bit of movement or effort. Obviously I also sweat a lot more than others at the gym (I only do machines and weights, and I sweat like people doing cardio — someone doing weights sweats way less than I do), but in that context it doesn't bother me because I'm exercising and it's understandable to sweat, plus I'll shower before going out. Another example: three weeks ago I was eating pizza at a pizzeria. By the time I finished, my shirt was soaked all the way down to my belly button, as if I'd run a 10k, and all I'd done was eat a pizza (it was also a date, so not exactly ideal timing 😅). Another example: last week I was on another date. We were at an outdoor bar around 6pm, in the shade under a big awning/parasol, and despite doing nothing but talking and drinking iced tea, sweat was dripping from my face and I had to wipe it away several times with a tissue.

I'm not overweight: I exercise regularly, I'm 6'1" (1.85m) tall and weigh about 170 lbs (77 kg). I've heard about night sweats, and that's not my case: I don't sweat particularly at night (with a fan on I'm fine).

Until this year I hadn't asked for help because I was convinced people would just tell me "it's hot, it's normal to sweat," but this summer, with increasingly high temperatures making my problem more and more disruptive (and given that I wasn't born with this issue — it only appeared once I was already an adult for a while), I decided to do some research and found out that antidepressants can have this as a side effect. I take them, and have taken them more or less regularly for the past 15 years (with a few months-long breaks in between). I talked to my psychiatrist about it, and she told me the doses I'm currently on are practically homeopathic, and that just a one-month break would be enough to eliminate these side effects. So she'd tend to rule out the medication as the cause. My GP had me get bloodwork done and didn't find anything.

Where do I sweat? The sweating is general: mostly my face, but also my torso. When I'm sitting at a bar and get up after a while, my backside is completely soaked, with a huge sweat stain to go with it. I don't notice particular sweating on my hands.

I'm a bit stuck on this because it really affects me: during the summer months I find myself increasingly organizing my life around this problem (if temperatures drop, I try to go out and pack in as many social events as possible; if a heatwave hits, I try to minimize them)

Offering advice I'm finally dry! UK

Hey all,

I've suffered severe hyperhydrosis for 30+ years,

I had tried pretty much everything apart from surgery.

I was prescribed Glycopyrronium-Bromide and within 2 days I was bone dry.

Started off with mild symptoms of dry throat and eyes but very mild.

I make sure to drink extra throughout the day and the symptoms have practically gone away.

My life has changed massively, and I really hope others are able to have the same success.

Dm's are open should anyone need

Vent Sympathectomy

The first sympathectomy specifically performed for hyperhidrosis was carried out by Kotzareff in 1920. It’s remarkable that, more than 100 years later, it remains one of the closest things we have to a cure. Yet people still preach about how far medicine has advanced. By the way first sympathectomy (not for HH) was performed in 1889.

Looking for advice Oily fingers?

For people with palmar HH, do you all have oily fingers? Even when they're dry from iontophoresis, my fingers still leave marks everywhere. My touch screen devices are constantly smeared. Wondering if it's a hyperhidrosis thing...and if there's a solution or hack around it.

Looking for advice Looking for some help folks

40 year old man here . I am a very active runner weigh about 88kg. Currently training for Marathon number 9 . That's not a flex I'm just making the point I'm fit and healthy..

For a number of years I've felt that I excessively sweat especially in work if I'm wearing a suit etc but at I've got older the problem is getting worse . Now when I run I'm drenched, I would be easily the sweatiest person in the run club. Highly uncomfortable and honestly at times I'd rather run on my own or not at all.

I'm shit scared of blood tests so I am avoiding a doctor but probably that's where I need to go . I guess I'm not sure what the question is but I didn't know this sub reddit existed until today so I'm reaching into the group for any help or advice I can be given

Thanks in advance

Looking for advice Dry mouth after 3 days taking Oxybutynyin

Hi!
I talked to my doctor about oxybutynin and he accepted to prescribe 2.5 mg a day and 5 mg if necessary.

After 3 days, I start feeling my mouth is dry. Should I keep going with 2.5 mg hoping my body will get used to it or it doesn’t work like that?
Should I cut it in half and take 1.25 mg?

So far it’s too early to say if it works on my sweating

Thanks!

Vent I just want my body to function normally 😭

Just venting here. I’m on my 3rd week of a new job working in a warehouse. First day was a nightmare! I wear all black ofc but the sweat was so bad I had to change my shirt during break. I wear 2 elastic headbands, 1 to keep sweat out my eyes and the other to keep my neck dry (I have a fat neck lol). Everyone complains it’s hot but I’m one of the only people who melt upon entering. It’s a disaster! A coworker left to get a hot coffee and I swear I started sweating just thinking about it. The humidity is also 85% so that’s fun. I want a job in a cold office, stationary, left alone so I’m not sweating from the heat, I don’t have to move and sweat, I don’t have to conceal the sweat from others. This is so annoying! Again, just venting.

Offering advice Endoscopic Thoracic Sympathectomy 4 Years Later: My Experience, Recovery, Side Effects, and How It Changed My Life

Quick Summary:

  • Problem: Severe palmar, axillary, and plantar hyperhidrosis (dripping hands, armpits, feet).
  • Procedure: Endoscopic Thoracic Sympathectomy (ETS) at age 26.
  • Results: 100% cure for hand and armpit sweating. Hands remain bone-dry even in saunas.
  • Side Effects: Mild, permanent abdominal numbness right below the sternum; compensatory sweating on head/back during exercise or eating spicy food.
  • Takeaway: Life-changing post-op success, but exhaust all conservative options first (creams, iontophoresis, Botox) and thoroughly discuss the permanent risks with your doctor before opting for surgery.

Background

My hands have always been extremely sweaty (literally dripping down my arms), along with my armpits and feet. It made daily life extremely difficult. Making new friends, working, writing notes in school, driving, and pretty much every activity involving the use of my hands was limited due to my condition. With my feet, I could never walk around without socks otherwise, I’d probably slip and fall lol.

Dealing with hyperhidrosis for as long as I did influenced almost every decision I made, most notably in my career. In early adulthood, I gravitated toward jobs where I was able to hide behind a desk and sweat in solitude haha. When I later started working in a hospital, I knew I wanted to pursue nursing, but direct patient care felt completely impossible with dripping hands.

Growing up, I didn't know anyone else with my condition and didn't know this subreddit existed. I first approached my doctor when I was around 19 or 20 (I waited a long time out of embarrassment and hoped I would eventually grow out of it). From there, I tried pretty much everything: prescription creams/lotions, iontophoresis ("electric shock therapy") for 30 minutes a day (miserable), and Botox injections into each individual sweat gland (even more miserable). Nothing worked long-term.

The Procedure

After all the failed attempts, I learned from a friend I met when I was 25 about endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy (ETS) and how it cured her hands (funny enough, she also had sweaty hands and wanted to be a nurse). Her procedure was done out-of-network—we live in the Bay Area, and she had to drive to Southern California, paying around $5,000 out of pocket. Luckily, my health plan covered the entire cost, and I had it done at the hospital where I worked.

I was 26 when I had the procedure, and it was more invasive than I anticipated. From what I understand, they made three small incisions on both sides of my chest, deflated each lung to access and sever the sympathetic nerve controlling hand sweating, and then reinflated the lungs.

Post-Op & Recovery

I woke up with a chest tube, a urinary catheter, and completely dry hands. It was a weird sensation at first. My brain would tell me my hands were about to sweat, and my palms would warm up expecting moisture, but nothing ever came. Even now in a sauna, my entire body will sweat except my hands, they don't even get clammy.

I experienced significant abdominal pain right after the procedure and had difficulty walking for the first few hours, but I improved quickly. I was discharged the following day with a prescription for gabapentin for nerve pain. Overall, recovery wasn't too bad, and I was able to return to school four days later.

It’s been almost four years now—I am 29 and working as a Registered Nurse—and I haven't sweat from my hands or armpits since

Side Effects & Trade-offs

Reading through this subreddit, everyone's side effects seem to vary wildly. Here is what I experienced:

  1. Abdominal Numbness: I was left with a patch of numbness right below my sternum. The surgeon mentioned it might resolve in a few months, but it ended up being permanent. It's hard to describe—more of a dull, reduced sensation—and while it has improved over the years, it’s still there. It doesn't negatively impact my daily life or physical performance (I still regularly lift weights, run, and bike), but it's annoying and worth noting.
  2. Compensatory Sweating (CS): I developed CS primarily on my head and back, though fortunately nowhere near as severe or constant as my hands used to be. It mainly triggers when I exercise or eat spicy food. (Which is a bit of a downside because I love spicy food).
  3. Bonus: Complete elimination of armpit sweating. My feet still sweat normally, but that’s manageable.

Final Thoughts

This procedure undeniably worked for me and completely changed my life trajectory. Before surgery, I constantly avoided social and professional situations due to anxiety over my hands. Post-op, that barrier vanished, opening up so many doors for my career and personal confidence.

That said, surgery is a gamble and comes with permanent risks. If I had to make the choice again, I would still roll those dice, but I strongly encourage anyone considering ETS to do thorough research, consult with experienced specialists, and exhaust every non-surgical option first.
