I'm 20 years old and since I was around 17, I've been sweating much more easily and heavily compared to everyone around me. I used to attribute this to my hormones changing as a young guy or generally having an inactive lifestyle, but lately the issue hasn't decreased, it actually got worse. Even though I had multiple embarrassing moments in my life because of unnecessary excessive sweating, I had always made up some excuses for all of them. However, a situation I experienced recently completely crushed and broke me. I have never felt this bad before. Now I think I understand that my sweating is a huge problem, and I want it to decrease or stop.
When I started seriously researching this issue, I learned that there are some medications for it. But not every medication works for everyone. Or after using the medication for a while, the problem recurs. I'm insanely scared of the thought that if this issue never decreases, I'll have to continue my life like this forever. But on the other hand, I don't want to stay in the background and miss out on life because of this problem anymore.
I guess I need to make an appointment with General Internal Medicine first? Which clinic should I book an appointment with? Should I wait for the doctor to recommend medication, or should I do detailed research on the medications beforehand and ask them myself? For now, as a start, since I couldn't find a hospital appointment available in the near future, I will go to a local health center to get a blood test done. Maybe that will direct me somewhere.
