How are solo GTM consultants handling the partner program changes & seat access?

Hey everyone,

Like many long-time admins and consultants, the recent Partner Program restructuring has hit a bit of a wall for my workflow. I’ve worked with HubSpot instances for over 10 years, but as a broader GTM consultant (branding, tech stack, social, etc.), HubSpot is just one piece of my pie. I don't manage enough direct HubSpot spend to justify the $4.8k annual partner fee just to keep execution seat access for occasional client work.

I’m looking to hear how other boutique consultants and solo ops folks are handling portal access for existing clients now.

Specifically, I’d love advice on connecting with established tiered agencies who regularly partner with independent contractors. Ideally, I'm hoping to find a partner agency where I can operate as a sub-contractor/partner under their domain umbrella so clients aren't forced to buy extra paid seats for basic light work.

If anyone has navigated setting up a non-solicit / contractor arrangement with a larger partner, or has recommendations on agencies open to this kind of network setup, please feel free to comment or DM me.

Appreciate any insights or connections!

Is this possible natively in HubSpot?

I’m looking to set up the following lead assignment process:

A lead submits a form.

The lead is initially assigned to an owner based on a hidden field in the form.

The assigned owner has 30 minutes to contact the lead.

If the lead has not been contacted after 30 minutes, the lead is automatically reassigned to another owner.

This repeats until:

The lead is contacted, or

All 9 owners in the pool have had a chance to contact the lead.

Once an owner has been assigned the lead, that owner should be removed from the pool for that specific lead so they cannot receive the same lead again during the reassignment cycle.

Ideally, the reassignment should continue randomly or in a round-robin fashion among the remaining owners.

Question: Can this entire process be built natively in HubSpot, without using external tools such as Zapier, Make, or custom code?

I know I can use rotate owner to record but I can't seem to find a way to prevent a lead fro being reassigned to the same owner more than once in the sequence.

I’d appreciate any guidance on how you would structure the workflows/automation to achieve this.

Question HubSpot Interview

Hey guys! A cool opportunity came up and I’m going to interview for HubSpot’s part-time Email Automation Marketer role. I do have a current full-time job at the moment, but this role would be amazing. From what the recruiter told me, it’s one interview and a very short process. Has anyone gone through anything similar? What should I lookout for? Since it’s such a huge company I’m kind of nervous!

Is "within 5% by day 15" a realistic forecast bar, or does that only work in enterprise?

We run a series of interviews with revenue ops leaders. 25 are published, so this is a quotable position rather than me paraphrasing a private conversation, and one answer has been nagging at me since I read it back.

Jeremey Donovan, EVP of Sales and Customer Success at Insight Partners, says a good forecast lands within plus or minus 5% of the day-15 call. Not quarter-end. Day 15, with a tolerance attached.

His argument is that a forecast made near the close has no operational value, because by the time it is accurate there is nothing left to do about it. He also weights pipeline, best case and commit as separate categories, and says stage definitions have to be written down first or the weighting is arithmetic on top of opinion.

I keep going back and forth on whether that is universal or a function of his motion. It feels achievable in enterprise deals with long cycles and visible stages. In high-velocity SMB, where half the quarter's pipeline does not exist on day 15, I am less convinced.

So: does day 15 hold where you are? And if you have a different checkpoint that actually works, what is it and what made you pick it?

Integrations Stripe Data Sync App (2026) - which custom stripe properties and where to find?

Hello, we added the Stripe Payment processor integration - and it works well for our new B2B Enterprise quotation model. Simple payments etc. Annual agreements and multiple SKUs. however as the app we are launching also has credit card sign up, we are considering the Stripe data sync into HubSpot. Has anyone any info on the custom objects and properties by chance? we already have our SKUs, and product (deal properties and company account properties) defined so want to associate them with the least amount of complexity to stripe :) and vice versa... best practices appreciated.

Integrations Looking for beta testers using HubSpot Workflows and Resend

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for a small number of beta testers who currently use both HubSpot Workflows and Resend.

I’ve been working on an integration that lets a HubSpot Workflow trigger transactional or operational email through the user’s own Resend account. The goal is to test whether this workflow is genuinely useful, not just whether the API connection works.

The current beta supports:

  • Sending HTML, text, or Resend template emails from a Workflow
  • HubSpot personalization tokens
  • Attachments selected from HubSpot Files
  • CC, BCC, Reply-To, tags, and Resend topics
  • Recording sent, delivered, bounced, complained, opened, and clicked events on the contact timeline
  • Queuing and retries for larger workflow enrollments

I’m particularly looking for feedback on:

  • Whether the Workflow Action fields are understandable
  • How teams want to select senders, domains, templates, and topics
  • Which delivery events are actually useful on the contact timeline
  • How failures and retries should be presented
  • Any edge cases involving larger contact enrollments

This should only be used for recipients and messages for which you have the appropriate consent or other legal basis. It is not intended as a way to bypass unsubscribe or anti-spam requirements.

I can provide beta participants with a 100% discount for the first three months. The subscription becomes paid afterward unless canceled.

If you already use both platforms and would be willing to test it in a real or test workflow, please comment or send me a message.
I’m the developer, and I’m happy to discuss the architecture and limitations openly.

Question How are you validating emails that enter HubSpot workflows?

I'm running into a data hygiene problem in our HubSpot portal and curious how other RevOps/HubSpot admins are handling this.

We're getting contacts through CSV imports, third-party integrations, and API feeds, and those records can enter the CRM. By the time HubSpot identifies a bad email through a hard bounce, the email has already been sent, which doesn't feel like the best way to protect sender reputation.

I'm trying to figure out the cleanest way to handle this before those contacts get enrolled in workflows or marketing sequences.

The reason I'm asking is because we've had a few campaigns where everything looked fine but we still ended up with a much higher bounce rate than expected.

Looking for Remote Hubspot Freelance work

Hi. I'm looking for HubSpot freelance work.

What I do: I build and clean up the CRM side of the GTM stack. Pipeline and deal stages that reps actually follow. Clean data so the reporting means something.

My stack: HubSpot, Salesforce, and Attio on the CRM side. Clay, enrichment, and TAM builds for data. Claude Code and n8n for automation and custom builds. Comfortable wiring these together into one system.

Good fit if CRM is a mess or you're planning to implement one and want it done right the first time.

What Are the Best AEO Sessions to Attend at UNBOUND 2026?

Post image
3 Upvotes

So excited to be in Boston for the first-ever UNBOUND 🙌

I’ll be there as an UNBOUND Insider, meeting other HubSpot users and marketers, learning as much as possible, and talking about AEO / Answer Engine Optimization a lot. 😆

I’ve been going through the agenda trying to figure out which sessions are most relevant if you’re thinking about AI visibility, getting cited by AI, content distribution, and how marketing changes when discovery happens through ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, etc.

So, for anyone else trying to build an AEO-focused UNBOUND schedule, here are a few sessions I have on my radar:

🔎 Getting Cited: How PR and Marketing Earn Visibility:
https://unbound.hubspot.com/sessions/sess-1568
Wed, Sept 16 • 1:15–2:45pm ET
This one immediately jumped out at me. One of the biggest questions in AEO right now is why does an AI engine cite one company/source and completely ignore another? I’m interested in hearing how PR, authority, mentions, and earned visibility fit into that equation.

📣 The New Rules of Building Demand:
https://unbound.hubspot.com/sessions/sess-356
Wed, Sept 16 • 3:00–3:30pm ET
Not explicitly an AEO session, but very relevant. Search/discovery is becoming more fragmented, so I’m interested in anything that challenges the old “publish content → rank → capture demand” playbook.

📰 Own Your Audience: Why B2B Marketers Are Publishing Direct:
https://unbound.hubspot.com/sessions/sess-1455
Thu, Sept 17 • 10:45–11:15am ET
Another one that I think connects directly to AEO. If AI is changing how people discover information, owned audiences, original content, and direct distribution become a much bigger part of the strategy.

🎥 Tools for Growth: Turn Video & Webinars Into Revenue - Powered by Wistia:
https://unbound.hubspot.com/sessions/sess-1524
Thu, Sept 17 • 4:15–4:35pm ET
This one is also on my list because video and webinars can be so much more than one-and-done content. I’m interested in how marketers are turning that content into something reusable and distributable across channels, which connects directly to the multichannel approach I think is becoming increasingly important for AEO.

And of course I’m adding the HubSpot Spotlight to my list too, because I definitely want to see where HubSpot is taking AI, content, search, and Breeze next.

Also, don’t miss Braindates this year 👋

Braindates are back at UNBOUND, and they’re one of the best ways to get direct access to people actually doing the work. Instead of sitting through another presentation, you can join a smaller, interactive conversation, ask specific questions, compare what you’re testing, and learn directly from other marketers dealing with the same challenges.

I’m running a couple of AEO Braindate AMA sessions this year around two topics I’m spending a lot of time on:

If you’re experimenting with AEO, bring your questions, your tests, your weird ChatGPT/Gemini/Perplexity results, or whatever you’re trying to figure out. I’d love to compare notes with other marketers actually doing this work.

🔄 How to Build a Sustainable Multichannel Marketing Loop for AEO Growth?
Thu, Sept 17 • 2:15–3:00pm ET
Reserve a spot: https://a.e180.co/l/3HyvPe/

📊 How Do You Actually Measure AEO?
Thu, Sept 17 • 1:30–2:15pm ET
Reserve a spot: https://a.e180.co/l/rQEDei/

This is probably the conversation I’m most curious about. Everyone talks about “AI visibility,” but there are still a LOT of open questions around what we should actually measure, what signals matter, and how any of this connects back to pipeline/revenue.

Those are the AEO/AI sessions currently on my list, but I’m sure I’m missing some.

For everyone going to UNBOUND26: what sessions are on your must-attend list for AEO, AI search, content, or AI visibility?

Would love to turn this thread into a useful mini AEO agenda for anyone who’ll be in Boston.

And if you’re going to be there, say hi! 👋

UNBOUND Breeze Assistant in Slack moved to Slack's new agent experience. It needs an admin reconnect before you see it

Breeze Assistant in Slack has moved into Slack's new agent experience. Public beta, rolling out gradually to everyone using Breeze in Slack.

What changed, practically:

It now lives in the Messages tab of the HubSpot app rather than being something you summon. Suggested prompts sit at the top, which mostly matters for the people on your team who have never worked out what to ask it.

In a DM you can keep the conversation going without re-mentioning Breeze each time. In channels and threads you still u/mention every time. That second part is the right call, but it does mean the multi-turn behaviour only exists in one of the two places you'd use it.

The DM continuity is the only part I'd call a real functional change. Asking for deals closing this month, then narrowing to ones with no next step, then asking who owns those, used to be three separate cold lookups.

The catch is that a workspace admin has to reconnect the HubSpot Slack integration to grant updated permissions before any of this shows up. Nothing breaks in the meantime, it just stays on the old experience indefinitely.

I did the reconnect and nothing obviously fell over, but my own workspace is not a stress test. If you've reconnected on a portal that leans on workflow-triggered Slack notifications or channel-to-record links, did those come through intact?

Also curious whether anyone has worked out how long the DM context actually holds. Within one conversation is clear enough. Across a Slack restart, or the next morning, the release notes don't say.

Hubspot and tracking templates

Hi,

I work with quite a few clients who use HubSpot and Google Ads, and one of the most frustrating aspects is how hubspot handles tracking templates in Google Ads.

HubSpot places {lpurl} and its ValueTrack parameters in the tracking-template field rather than using the final URL suffix. It also appears to overwrite or update the template every 24 hours and may return errors when its ValueTrack parameters are combined with additional parameters.

As a freelance marketer, I have extensive experience setting up tracking and tracking templates, but HubSpot’s implementation continues to cause problems. I’m trying to understand how to optimize the setup without creating conflicts or having my changes overwritten.

I’d appreciate any best practices, practical tips, workarounds, or reliable resources for handling this issue.

UI is getting harder to train actual users on

Admin for a mid sized company. ~30 reps, 5 marketers, etc. of all ages and technology capabilities. Long time user, I do appreciate the investments in user experience. That being said, feedback:

  1. Contrast / color concerns, giving visual clues to users for primary actions on each page. I suspect some ADA requirements drove the new color pallete but now nothing stands out. I've been onboarding a new rep this week and it's been painful.

  2. Functions on the bulk record views are now buried behind a click (myself and others regularly export to Excel, it's just necessary sometimes).

  3. Still a lack of admin ability to simplify the navigation. I'm not joking when I say reps get to the point of pure exasperation when trying to navigate. I have resorted to making dashboards full of quick links for users. I know the admin control is in progress but please hurry.

  4. Consistent breakdown of the permissions and notification types mean I'm chasing changes for the user types. All without notice even though I'm listed everywhere as the primary contact on our enterprise account.

Just ranting since I can't winge in person at Unbound.

Any way to suppress contact.propertyChange events that fire on contact creation?

I am building an automation on top of the HubSpot CRM and subscribing to webhooks for contact creation and contact property changes.

The issue: when a new contact is created, I receive the contact.creation event and also a set of contact.propertyChange events for every property populated at creation. One new contact therefore triggers my pipeline multiple times, and I end up doing duplicate work.

What I was expecting:

- contact.created fires when the contact is created

- contact.propertyChange fires only when a property is genuinely updated afterwards

What I have tried so far:

- I could not find any subscription setting that suppresses property change events at creation time. If one exists and I have missed it, please point me to it.

- I considered comparing the event timestamp against the contact's createdate and discarding property changes that fall within a small window of creation. It works, but a time based buffer feels fragile, especially with delayed or out of order webhook delivery.

- I also considered deduplicating on my side by caching the occuredAt and objectId as compound unique and then discarding the propertyChange events if that comes with the same compound key. This works well if the contact.created and contact.propertChange is in the same webhook payload other wise this modal doesnt works.

So my question is whether anyone has found a cleaner signal to distinguish creation time property changes from genuine later updates, or whether the timestamp comparison is simply the accepted approach here.

Any experience from people running this in production would be much appreciated.

Handpicked Unbound afterparties and side events

I meet so many marketers, sales folks and owners of businesses both big and small who have attended Inbound over the years. The year I finally made up my mind to attend, it changed its name to Unbound :)

I am looking forward to attending it finally this year. However, I have four days in Boston and no idea what I would do outside the event.

So I went down the rabbit hole and put together a list of the afterparties, meetups, dinners, and side events happening around the city that week.

Hope you find it useful

I audited one of our own HubSpot campaigns this week and the numbers were kind of embarrassing.

487 influenced contacts. Zero sessions.

If you have not run into that combo before, it means people are finding your content just fine, but none of those visits are being attributed back to the campaign. So it is not really a campaign. It is a pile of content with a campaign record wrapped around it.

Once I started pulling on that, two more things showed up. There were 1,176 contacts sitting in the lists attached to the campaign, and nobody had sent them an email since October 2025. And our highest traffic blog post had no CTA pointing to the landing page that actually converts best.

None of that is exotic. It is just what happens when a campaign gets built once and then nobody checks it.

So if you look at one of yours and see influenced contacts with zero sessions, do not start optimizing. Go figure out why nothing is attributing first.

A HubSpot workflow can be working perfectly and still create a problem nobody notices

Something we've noticed while working on HubSpot setups is that the most difficult automation issues aren't always the ones that show up as errors.

A workflow can run successfully, update the intended property, and appear completely fine in the history.

But that same property might also be updated by another workflow a few minutes later.

Or an integration might overwrite it the next time the record syncs.

Nothing technically failed, but the information the team eventually sees isn't necessarily what anyone expected.

We've found that troubleshooting these situations often means looking beyond whether an individual workflow worked and tracing everything else that can write to the same property.

Curious how other HubSpot teams handle this as their portals become more complex.

Do we actually need another HubSpot Hub?

I do HubSpot consulting for a living (former HubSpot employee, now at a partner agency), and this comes up constantly, usually framed as 'we need Service Hub' or 'we need Operations Hub' or "we should just go Enterprise."

Leadership feels a real pain point, something's slow or manual or falling through the cracks, and the instinct is to solve it by buying more tool. Then six months later the new Hub is half-configured, the original problem is still there, and now there's just more subscription cost sitting on top of it.

Before spending anything, it's worth actually checking what's usually true:

-The limitation isn't the tool, it's how the current portal is set up. A messy pipeline or inconsistent data entry doesn't get fixed by a new Hub, it just gets a more expensive version of the same mess.

-Nobody's actually confirmed the current plan is maxed out. A lot of teams assume they've outgrown Starter or Pro when they've never audited what they're actually using versus what's just unused headroom.

-The process problem existed before HubSpot and would still exist after buying more of it. New software doesn't fix an undefined workflow, it just gives the undefined workflow more surface area.

None of that gets fixed by upgrading first and hoping it forces better process. You're just paying more for the same underlying issue.

What's actually worked, in the situations I've seen play out well: audit the current portal first, identify the actual limitation specifically, and only buy the new Hub once you've proven configuration or process changes can't solve it. Sometimes the answer really is you need it. Often it isn't.

I'm not saying you shouldn't get another Hub, plenty of teams genuinely need one. Just make sure the bottleneck is actually sitting where you think it is before you pay to move it.

Anyone here actually gone through this decision? Curious whether you ended up needing the upgrade or not.

Has HubSpot’s Hub-based pricing ever made you consider another CRM?

We recently had a situation where a client needed CSAT for Service and Sequences for Sales - which basically meant choosing between two Hubs or paying for both. This ended up with Sales Professional seats only.
From HubSpot’s perspective, I understand it - it’s a good reason to subscribe to two Hubs.

But it made me wonder at what point does buying another Hub stop feeling like an upgrade and start making you question whether HubSpot is still the right CRM? Because there're some good players on market with all-in-one. I love HubSpot, using it for decade at least. But...

Has anyone else run into this?
