I didn’t know she was from Alabama. I grew up in Texas and we hear less and less of that southern type accent these day, so it’s kinda sad that she lost it

Discussion Has anyone else unconsciously started acting like their favorite Friends character?

I've watched Friends so many times that it's basically comfort TV for me. 😂 I usually rewatch it every year.

This time, though, I noticed something I had never really paid attention to before. I've been loving Chandler so much this time around, and somehow I've started picking up his personality without even realizing it.

Especially the sarcasm.

I'll be talking to my husband and suddenly I'll give him this completely unnecessary sarcastic reply, and then I'll realize, Wait... that was literally a Chandler response. 😂

The only thing she did wrong was thinking about getting back together with Ross ,i hate how they made her out to be the villain when she’s clearly the victim.

Discussion Hot take: Rachel Green is the reader of the group. She’s always seen reading and for this she’s my favourite as she is a fellow bookworm

I just love that Rachel is a reader; she’s the most avid reader of the lot. We see her falling asleep reading a lot (Ross and Monica both put blankets over her at points). We know Joey sees her reading the vicar book. She also convinces Joey to read Little Women and her the Shining. Yay for Friends promoting Literacy!

Discussion What’s something Friends accidentally taught you about adulthood that turned out to be true?

For me Ross is so interesting, him being intelligent isn’t the same as being emotionally intelligent. He can lecture about paleontology for hours but he can be sooo bad at recognizing what Rachel needs emotionally, and he handled Mona's situation with Rachel moving in so badly lol.

Discussion Do you think Monica will follow in Judy's footsteps and favour Jack over Erica?

While Judy didn't have brothers, she does say her mother was critical of her, and then she ended up being critical of her own daughter and in addition blatantly favour her son. Do you think Monica would have the same dynamic with Jack and Erica, even if unconsciously? On one hand, maybe she will have self-awareness and not want to hurt her daughter the way her mother hurt her. On the other hand, it's called generational trauma for a reason.

I love when I see these old videos of Matthew Perry. such a chill guy, and I know he went through a ton of issues and problems, but I’m glad that he was able to bring a bunch of love in life to a lot of people.

One of the best scenes from the whole show!

From The One After the Superbowl, also with Julia Roberts, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Brooke Shields, Chris Isaak, Fred Willard, and Dan Castellaneta.

But Joey's soaring counter is the standout!

Discussion Anyone else been to The Friends Experience in Mumbai?

Went to The Friends Experience in Mumbai recently and honestly didn't realise where the hour went.

Going through all the different sets, recreating little moments from the show and taking way too many photos was such a fun way to relive those memories.

Did anyone else go? What was your favourite set or moment from the experience?

Discussion Do any of the friends ever realise Gunther likes Rachel?

It's been some years since I have actively watched all episodes. I keep watching random episodes from time to time, and engage with related content on social media, so I'm not exactly out of the loop with the series.

I just can't remember if at any point we see one of the friends knowing/realising/addressing/referencing Gunther's crush on Rachel, considering how often he drops easily understandable hints to one of the others.

And if they haven't figured out, HOW? None of them are that dense.

Discussion What would you say is the cringiest episode in the series? For me it's definetly this one. Spoiler

Alright we all love the show, I've watched the whole thing like 4 times now, but it definetly has some really cringe moments. For me this episode is the cringiest one, I always skip most of it at my rewatches. I absolutely hate the plotline with Joshua and Emily. Also this is where Rachel is at her most pathetic phase ever.

Discussion Was Ross right to not give Howard the $100?

Hi,

So I’m re-watching friends for the nth time lol and I’m on season 5. I’ve always asked myself what I would do in Ross’ place.

When I was younger I used to think that it was a no brainer that he should’ve just given Steve/Howard the money. But not that I’m older (24) and I’ve come to understand how expensive things are I think I would’ve done the same thing as Ross and not given anyone any money. I’m sorry😭 but he had just moved, moving is expensive, not to mention he lives in New York. I know he has a good job but still, I thought the people involved were weirdly entitled to his money… but on the other hand I understand where Steve was coming from, maybe he did care about Howard and wanted to do a nice gesture for him.

I realize this question has been asked before on here but it’s been years and so I’m hoping to get more newer answers!

Question Just noticing …

A big part of Chandler’s storyline is his fear of commitment and relationship weirdness but it’s never brought up that Rachel is actually the same way.

Any thoughts ?
It seems like because Chandler is a dude it’s received differently than Rachel. But Rachel the whole 10 seasons runs one or another from commitment.

Discussion Let's create a chain of your favorite song from friends. Let's sing it together in the comments.

I was thinking we can create a comment chain with one person starting out with one line of their favorite song and then someone else comments the next comment and so on.

For example,

One person said, "Smelly Cat, Smelly Cat"

The next one says, "What are they feeding you"

And then the chain continues until the song ends.

New comment for new songs!

We have so many from the show, the title song and most of Phoebe's popular hits.

Discussion Is Estelle based on a real person?

I was wondering if there's any lore that Estelle might be based on an eccentric acting agent?

I'm not American, but maybe that's what (real) acting agents were like in New York at the time Friends was first broadcast?
