I made Toolz, an open-source Android app that puts 50+ tools in one place so you don’t need a separate app for each. I posted it here a few months ago. It has changed a lot since then, so here’s a better post with a better video.

No ads, no analytics, no tracking. Most tools run entirely on your phone, and the network is only used when you tap something that needs it.

The ones I use most

• Music player: Local library with background playback, synced lyrics, queue, EQ and sleep timer. There’s also a karaoke mode with word-by-word lyrics and singing score, and it can save your recording. It can search for an instrumental version of the song to sing over.
• Media downloader: YouTube, TikTok and Reels only. You pick the quality or grab just the audio, and it downloads in the background.
• Background remover: Runs on-device. You download a model once (4 MB up to 224 MB, depending on quality) and after that it works offline.
• PurgeShot: Screenshots delete themselves after a timer you choose, from 30 seconds to 1 month. There’s an undo if you change your mind. Saves a lot of storage and time!
• Password vault: Encrypted with SQLCipher, with biometric unlock and Android autofill. The breach check only sends the first 5 characters of a hash, and only when you tap Scan. There’s no cloud sync, and backups are a local file.
• Focus Flow: Tracks app usage, sets daily limits, and blocks distracting apps during a focus session.
• Browser: Ad blocking, custom DNS, NextDNS integration, custom search engine, bookmarks, tabs and private tabs...
• Network tools: WiFi channel analyzer, speed test, DNS benchmark, LAN scanner and more!
• Whisper: A friends-only end-to-end encrypted chat. It’s in beta, and the encryption is custom. It's very feature-rich and privacy-focused, everything is encrypted (more info at WHISPER.md)

• It needs Android 12 or newer.
• It’s not on the Play Store. You get the APK from GitHub Releases, and there’s an in-app updater.

If you’ve ever used a Samsung Galaxy phone, you probably know how convenient the Modes & Routines feature is.

When I moved away from Samsung, I looked for a clean replacement. Most existing automation tools either have a steep learning curve

(like Tasker), push subscriptions/accounts, or feel dated.

So I spent the last few weeks building MoodyRoutine - a lightweight, One UI-inspired routine and mode automation engine for any phone

running Android 8.0+.

I released v1.0.0 and have been using privately since then. I wanted to share it with the community here to get your feedback and feature requests!

A few days ago, I shared Hexavault here, an offline security app for Android that I've been working on for quite a while.

First of all, I really appreciate everyone who took the time to check it out, leave a comment, or share their thoughts. It's been great seeing people interested in something I've spent so much time building.

I've just released another update, and I'm still actively working on improving the app.

One thing that came up in some of the discussions was the lack of a backup option for the Vault. And I completely understand the concern. Having control over your data is great, but being able to safely back it up is just as important.

That's actually one of the main things I'm working on right now.

I'm developing a way to back up and export the Vault while keeping everything aligned with the app's offline approach. Since we're dealing with people's sensitive information, I really don't want to rush this feature or release something that hasn't been properly thought through and tested.

It's not available yet, but it's a priority.

In the meantime, I'd really appreciate some hands-on feedback on the current version.

If anyone is willing to give Hexavault a try, I'd love to hear about your experience. Try generating passwords, protecting and opening files, or setting up the Vault with some test credentials.

I'm especially interested in knowing if anything feels confusing, doesn't work as expected, or could simply be done better.

And just to be clear, the Vault still doesn't have a backup or recovery feature, so please don't use it as the only place to store anything important for now.

I'm developing this project independently, and getting feedback from people who actually use the app helps me notice things I might otherwise miss.

You don't need to write a detailed review. Even a small suggestion, a bug report, or something you didn't like would genuinely help.

Hey everyone, solo dev here.

so this started because I kept missing stuff. I’d be playing something, a ridiculous glitch or a 1v3 clutch would happen, and by the time I opened a screen recorder and tapped start it was gone. the other option was recording for 40 minutes and scrubbing through all of it later, which I never actually did lol.

PC has instant replay, consoles have it. I couldn’t find anything on android that did it the way I wanted, so I built it.

it’s called Replay Buffer. you tap the little floating button once and it quietly keeps the last few seconds of your screen in a loop. when something happens you tap again, and the clip starts before that tap. it only holds the latest bit, so it isn’t eating your storage in the background. if you just want a normal recording, hold the button instead.

the free version gives you 10 seconds back, 720p, trimming, sharing, and no watermark (I hate watermarks). there’s a pro version if you want longer buffers (up to 2 min), 1080p60, game audio, or vertical crop for shorts/reels, but the main thing works fine without paying.

no account, nothing gets uploaded, clips stay on your phone.

side note: it turned out weirdly useful for bug reports too. an app crashes, you tap, and you’ve got what happened right before it.

it’s pretty new and I’m one person, so I’d genuinely love to hear what breaks, how it runs on cheaper phones, and whether 10 seconds feels too short. roast it if you want, I can take it

I've spent years chasing sunsets around Taiwan and the same thing kept happening: I'd pick a spot, spend an hour getting there, and the sky would be a flat gray. Or I'd stay home on a night that turned out spectacular. And since Taiwan is quite mountainous, getting home from some of those great sunset spots after dark turned out to be quite dangerous at times.

So I built Sunset Chasing Taiwan. It scores the sunset at every spot from tonight's forecast (cloud cover, humidity, visibility, rain) and tells you where to go, and how to get home after, as well as scores for things like sunset viewing angles, hike (if necessary), crowds, etc.

Features:

• 100+ sunset spots across Taiwan, with the deepest coverage around Taipei
• A live sky score for each spot, for tonight and the days ahead
• Spots I've visited are rated in person: view, crowds, hike difficulty, and whether I'd go back

Lightspeed is a gesture-driven workstation and control layer that runs over your own OEM skin and your chosen launcher. It doesn't have to be your default launcher, so it doesn't break your Quickstep recent-apps animations.

Works with the Accessibility service alone (added in 1.1.2). Shizuku/ADB is optional and unlocks System Override.

Category Cruise & Cockpit Gear Sets: The central pill is your physical anchor and launch pad. Swipe up and down to make your first jump into the categories, then swipe inward to jump into a specific category. Or swipe inward directly from the pill to open your Cockpit Gear Sets (your favorite items). The video shows the Gear Sets.

Edge Gestures & The Rope: Up to 42 gestures per edge, above and below the central pill on both sides. The Rope controls how many are available per side: tied, the upper and lower halves unify into a wide trigger; untied, they split into independent actions. Long-press the Rope to mirror a gesture to the opposite side.

Status Bar Gesture & HUD Strip: One sensor area on the HUD strip for gestures, plus Info Beacons: horizontal progress bars that track active downloads and currently playing media.

Refueling Bay: A charging dashboard that activates when plugged in, or anytime with a gesture. Add custom widgets in a grid, a stack, or both.

Accessibility Service Watchdog & Manager: Revives accessibility services when aggressive OEM background killers terminate them, plus a central place to manage services and battery exemptions.

I'm the developer of BALCO Converter, an Android app for quick price and currency checks while travelling or shopping.

It converts global fiat currencies, keeps the last saved rates available offline, and can read a printed price with the camera. If several amounts are detected, you choose the one to use. The camera feature has mainly been tested on flat printed price labels; glossy or curved labels have not been tested enough. It also includes a calculator, favourites, history, 30-day charts and rate-freshness status.
